Being from Spain and cooking paella and making tapas, the food at Toro is authentic and wonderful. I have eaten at many “Spanish” restaurants thru out the US and this has been my favorite! “I found myself at the hoppy monk after a rare flash flood warning with severe thunderstorms where I took advantage of massive solar array disguised as covered parking.

I got a duchess burger (not on menu) which comprises of .25/5 patty, Romain lettuce, sautéed onions on a brioche bun. Oml was this just the most amazing burger.

Compliments to the team in the back at the hoppy monk and the bar tender on his recommendation.

The spa is amazing and I had an amazing massage. We will be here all week and I am looking forward to another massage with my husband joining me next time. “Food was presented well and tasty. Only issue I had was food was not hot. Their special spicy bacon plate was yummy. My Denver Omelette was very good. My girls sweet potato breakfast plate was good, could gave been 2 eggs instead of one. Her spicy syrup was great. They put unique twists on their food. Wait staff attentive and friendly. My sangria was great.
Second visit comments. The pancake flight was excellent, very tasty. My partner and I had the Garden Omelettes and added ham and cheese, very tasty. The hash brown was very tasty as well. All of this was obviously fresh. Only small negative was fruit dish was too ripe. We will definitely be making this a regular place to visit.“

“It was okay and would like to try other entrees. The Avocado Poached eggs plate was ordered. They typically dont have water rushing out of the eggs but these did, made the toast mushy but it was edible. I had to get up to ask for the bill as the waitress was too busy socializing with her co-worker. 😒“

“I made reservations because they were participating in the Culinaria event. We support those restaurants that participate in the Culinaria events. I appreciate their contributions to those in SA who don’t have enough food on their tables.
The Culinaria menu was enticing. For the first course, I chose the tuna tartare. It was delicious with fried capers and an artichoke aioli. I asked to have the chives eliminated and they were very accommodating. It was served with an artichoke aioli. Although very good, I would have liked a more pronounced artichoke flavor. I asked for a glass of prosecco and it was delicious!
My husband ordered the arancini which was served with lobster 🦞 risotto. He asked for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and liked it. He truly enjoyed it. The first course offered a soup but I didn’t ask what it was.
We both ordered the braised lamb shank on a bed of mashed potatoes, which I found a little bland; however, the slice of onion, served along side, was fabulous! They are braised and cooked down with balsamic and probably a red wine vinegar or a vinegar of some sort, perhaps a sherry or champagne vinegar or a milder vinegar.
We decided to share a wonderful salted caramel gelato at the table and bring the tiramisu home.
One of the best Culinaria meals and for only $35 per person!

“We were at the Rim location just now. We sat in the bar area and immediately left. The floor had chips, old french fries on the floor and under the table. I had even said something about the floor needed sweeping as the hostess sat us. She didnt even bother to come back to address that. We got up and left. If the staff is like that with upkeep upfront, I did not want to know how they maintain their kitchen. I can understand if they were very busy and did not have time but there was a couple of people in the bar area. They could have addressed that. Very dissappointed.“
