“My husband and I had dinner there last night for the first time. The young lady who took our order was very patient and friendly. The food arrived to our table within a few minutes and it was great. Prime rib was on point and the pork ribs were as well. I could eat a whole plate of their green beans. A man, maybe a manager, came to assist us at our table as we were trying to get my hubby's wheelchair closer in for him to eat. Great experience over all and we will be back and recommend to friends.“

We'd pick up frozen pulled pork in Tennessee and bring it back to Texas as a treat. Nothing to compare until our first visit to The Purple Pig in June. “It’s been a few weeks since I last had H-E-B Texas barbecue, and somehow I forgot just how ridiculously good that brisket is. One bite in and—boom—instant reminder. Juicy, tender, piled high on a toasted bun… I added coleslaw and went full Texas-size. Honestly, I almost needed a nap halfway through.
The brisket-and-pinto beans? Let’s just say they did not skimp on the brisket. Flavor for days, just the right amount of sauce, and I even topped it all off with a little extra spicy sauce because why not?
They had just opened at 11 a.m., and the service was excellent—shoutout to Desiree! Food came out hot, fast, and smelling like happiness.
I’m moving out of state soon, but I already know that the next time I’m back in Texas, this is my first stop. Five stars all“

“I have been going to this location every other week. The owner is pretty nice, and the service is great. I'm impressed that their are only 2 people working there. An the amount of customers they are able to take in. The transactions are quick.“

“Amazing service! Fast friendly clean and wonderful service. We came in right as they were closing. Y’all have to understand we had been in line at the Fort Worth stock show for nine hours. They kept the registers open. They took a massive order. They got it all right my kids who are exhausted are now going to bed full and happy and mom and dad are blown away by the amazing service. “Don't let the fact that this BBQ place is attached to an HEB fool you, it's a real sit-down restaurant. Fran greeted us with a smile and was helpful for our first time here and was helpful with the menu. The brisket and pulled pork were great and the two sauces ( sweet or spicey) compliment the meats well. It is the sides that really stand out here. The brisket beans are soft, creamy and full of flavor, the collard greens I could eat all day, and the cream corn is not what your mama served. Stop in and get some BBQ and don't forget the sides.“

“Walked in and sat at the bar. Bar tender attended me right away. I decided to try their 14 oz steak with Okra’, sweet potatoes, and bread! Man, that steak came out nice and hot! It tasted just the way I like it! No evidence was left on my plate of its existence! The sides and bread were the right touch to satisfy my evening hungry!

Very please with the bar tender’s attention and speed of the food.

“I love coming to this location. Everyone works hard, they're friendly, and my food is always good. Getting to see Tunisia is the cherry on top! She always makes a point to ask how I am and takes a moment to make small talk while waiting for my food to arrive or the transaction to clear. She's a treasure!“

“Came here for the first time. Ordered the BBQ Mix Plate which consists of 2 scoops white rice, 1 scoop mac salad, bbq chicken, bbq beef, and bbq kalbi. The whole plate is legit and tastes exactly like back home in Hawaii. Not too many people can perfect the mac salad from home, but this place is delicious. It’s a perfect side dish to along the powerful flavor of the bbq meats. I also ordered the spam musubi. And just like home, the plate is expensive too lol, but it’s definitely worth it whenever I’m at any L&L because I don’t have one near my side of town. On this particular day, we had a Hawaii live music event. Kainoa & Friends also plays at various L&L locations for free, so please be sure to check him and his crew out. They’re amazing and worth going. I’ve posted the 2025 schedule for Kainoa.

The staff are super friendly and fast. The restaurant is definitely the smallest that I’ve been to in TX so far. Very limited tables to dine at inside and outside. Lots of parking and they have 1 unisex restroom.“

“This has been mine and my daughters favorite spot for years, but recently we’ve gone 2 times in a row and they were out of ramen. That’s what my daughter gets and both times we’ve had to leave and go somewhere else. It’s disappointing but hopefully the ramen will be back and we can start going again. Food has always been wonderful so I’m definitely missing it now.“

“I got the 3 meat and 2 side order that came out to a little over 20 dollars. I'm so used to the serving sizes other barbecue places give for that amount, that I was astonished at the amount of sausage and brisket I was given. Meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection and I can't recommend them enough.“

“Speedy service and friendly service!
There were about 10 cars in front of me in the drive thru line but within 14 minutes I was in and out of the parking lot.
My kids love the buckaroo chicken tender meal, very fair in size it almost seems to be the size of a regular combo #4. Only difference that I noticed is a kids drink versus a regular sized cup.
Bonus points for the brownie with nut dessert included 🙂 $6.30 for this meal“

“This was my second visit to Rudy's at this particular location. I am unsure why the ratings for this place are not higher. On both occasions, I found the staff to be very kind and attentive. The baby back ribs and smoked chicken were tender and flavorful. The brisket was okay. I would not order the banana pudding again, as its texture and taste were weird and not fresh.“
