“My quandary: give Hannah’s the rave review it deserves and risk not being able to get a table on a Saturday night or just pretend we never made it to dinner? Looking for a new restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, my wife made a reservation at this gem in Denton and we were not disappointed. Our table was laid out with rose petals to celebrate the occasion and the staff wished us a Happy Anniversary. The menu had a multitude of items that sounded mouth-watering, so the decision making process was tortuous. We settled on bacon wrapped dates and steamed mussels as appetizers. The dates were moist and the bacon crispy, a perfect bite of sweet and salty. The mussels were perfectly steamed with a delicious broth and the perfect crispy, warm French bread to sop it up. A great start. My wife ordered Beef Cheek stuffed Ravioli, remembering how much she loved the beef cheeks we first ate in Spain. Ground meat in the ravioli topped with a perfect ragu of tomatoes, beef cheek, and vegetables. I am drawn to duck whenever I see it on the menu and the Rosemary smoked Duck Breast was cooked to perfection; crispy skin, juicy meat, and a sun dried cherry pico tart enough to complement its maple syrup glaze. The sliced duck breast was served atop a wild rice and vegetable pancake that was unique and perhaps the star of the dish. Come on, who wouldn’t love pancakes for dinner? A couple glasses of wine with dinner, a slice of award winning carrot cake for desert with an espresso, and exquisite service all evening long made for an ideal anniversary celebration. “visited The Greenhouse in Denton, Texas, on Friday, July 25th, and really enjoyed the experience. The interior has a great casual dining vibe that’s perfect for conversation — relaxed but refined enough to feel like a treat.

Our waitress struck the perfect balance of attentiveness: available when needed but never intrusive. She gave us excellent recommendations when we were torn on what to order.

Pictured are two of our entrées:

Honey Chipotle Salmon – This was the table favorite. The salmon was glazed with a rich honey chipotle sauce and served alongside jack cheese mashed potatoes and broccolini. The dish was clean, flavorful, and well balanced — the richness of the potatoes was offset beautifully by the glaze. I could honestly put that glaze on anything. 😂

Stuffed Chicken – Filled with poblano pesto and jack cheese, this chicken dish was topped with a creamy poblano pesto sauce and served over the same jack cheese mashed potatoes. While tasty, it felt like it was missing something — maybe a pop of acidity or a marinade to liven up the chicken. Still enjoyable, just not quite as memorable as the salmon.

Overall, we had a fantastic dinner. The wine was great, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for a quiet Friday night out. I’m sure we’ll be back sooner rather than later.“

“Sidewalk Cafe is our favorite place to eat in Denton county. We have not had one thing to complain about, the food, service, and the cleanliness. Sam is great in the kitchen but SUSIE Is the sweetest friendliest owner we have ever met! Very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. The best pancakes ever! “Wow! Is there an option for more than 5 stars? The bartender made an absolutely fabulous, one-of-a-kind smoked old fashioned. The steak... I've paid three times the price for a meal with a fraction of the quality of this one. The meat was so tender that my steak knife was purely decorative, and the flavor was out of this world. Au jus or A1 need not apply, this thing was juicy and absolutely perfect. I cannot believe of all the restaurants I've come across in my travels that the Hilton Garden Inn would rank in my top 3, but this was truly fabulous! 12/10! 👏👏“

“I’m from Miami, land of Cuban Coffee, coladas, and cafe con leche. This place has a whole menu just for coffee and I took a risk. I never drink Starbucks… but Old West is hands and hands above them. We were in Denton for a week visiting family and I had the Crème Brûlée coffee 4X….. first was at out first breakfast, and the rest were pick up orders! It’s SO DELICIOUS! Then, the place is so cozy, but best of all is the food! Generous portions, their hash brown casserole was AMAZING… my kids ate there like they had been starving lol…. I’m def thinking of them back here in Miami!“

“Dickey’s Barbecue Pit on I-35E in Denton is hands down one of the best barbecue spots around! The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Their brisket is tender and juicy with just the right amount of smokiness, and the ribs fall right off the bone. The sides are just as good—mac & cheese, baked potato casserole, and fried okra are absolute must-haves.
