“We went with a very small group. It was early and not busy at all. We were quickly sat, and our waitress/hostess was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was very clean. The staff was very friendly. The guys cleaning the table next to us asked us if our food was good and if we needed anything. We ordered the shrimp potstickers for an appetizer. I liked it. The rest of the group did not. We had steak, chicken, and scallops with rice and noodles. It came with salad, soup, and 2 pieces of shrimp. The soup was a bit on the salty side. The salad was dressing and lettuce. The food was grilled just right. The taste was good, seasoned just a little too much with salt. The best part was the chef and show. He was funny and gave us a hard time (in a good way). We really liked the experience and are planning to return soon with more people.

Just FYI, parking is not great. The area near the restaurant was full, so you might have to park a little ways out, but just a little.“

“Had a long work day dealing with taxes wanted a quite relaxed place to grab some dinner. Found this hidden gem. Walking in felt my stress melt away. Greeting was welcoming, I sat a the sushi bar. The wet towel was the perfect touch.

Nigiri kinmedao. Suzuki. Shuma aji. Hirame.
Special madai carpaciao. Muki hotate

The sushi was fresh and buttery. The flavours and pairing complemented the sushi. The atmosphere was relaxed. Will definitely be back.“

“I haven't traditionally been a sushi person but we went here and I was very happy with the experience. The dining room is clean and classy but the atmosphere is casual. The server was very attentive and our food came out very quickly. We tried a variety of sushi rolls and really, I liked them all. They don't do a very good job of advertising it, but they do have a large assortment of bottled beer available. The food is not cheap but not expensive; I think our tab was around $100 for 5 sushi rolls, dumplings, ramen, and a few drinks. I would definitely visit this place again.“

“The staff was friendly, I ordered their honeydew milk tea with boba and the spicy tuna roll. The size is more of a Japanese size than an American size, that said, I am full after eating one whole roll by myself. The flavor of the sushi was very good, the fish and the avocado both tasted fresh and I liked the addition of the sesame seeds. The spicy roll itself wasn't too spicy (for me), but the wasabi was spicy (which is good because that means I could actually taste it! It wasn't watered down like how some places give you). The ginger was also very flavorful. Overall very well balanced sushi, with good quality ingredients. The ingredients are what make this place good ?“

I got the superman roll and it was spicy and fresh and just enough that I wasn't hungry when I finished it-- the rolls are nice and long like eight or nine pieces each so more filling than I am used to with just one sushi roll.

You can tell they know what they’re doing because their food isn’t dripping in mayo to hide the low quality. The portions are big too. One or two rolls will fill up anyone. Try the chirashi.“

“I have been so patient with waiting for the opportunity to finally try this ramen place! They opened up and by the time I had the chance to go they were temporarily closed. Needless to say I am very excited that they are finally open again! If you live in the 4 corners area of Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Plano you know that there's slim pickin's of GOOD ramen places around. I promise you that this one is so worth it!!! I placed an online order for take out and it said "ready in 20 min." I kid you not I walked into the building right at the 20 minute mark and the man was stapleing the bag to my order closed. Talk about precise! The man working told me that there weren't any bean sprouts in my ramen order because so they weren't fresh, to compensate he gave me an entire order of 4 veggie rolls. What?! Love that level of customer service! Plus, I was debating on even getting the veg rolls and now I'll always order them because they are delicious! Sushi was always amazing and the ramen was so good! The only adjustment I'll make to it next time is to ask for my miso veg ramen it a little spicy. My husbands spicy ramen was PLENTY spicy enough. He loved it!!! Now everytime I have a ramen craving we will be at Kuma!“

We started with the fried calamari that was perfectly cooked, and the sauce complimented it perfectly. We ordered 3 different bowls of ramen that did not disappoint at all. My wife had the veggie ramen, and our son had the kids ramen, which was surprisingly big, and I had the beef ramen. The beef fell right off of the bone and had amazing flavor. We ordered a California roll and a Monster roll that was packed full of flavor. This is our new favorite spot in Mckinney.
