“Excellent food!! The daily lunch specials are delicious! The chicken & sausage gumbo is a personal favorite! The 1855 steaks and boudin in the meat case are top tier. The staff is also great; always efficient, happy and polite. I'm excited to try their boiled crawfish during crawfish season! Can't wait to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to everyone. Do yourself a favor and stop by for lunch, stock up your fridge or freezer or book them to cater your next special event!“

“Tried this spot one day while working down in Nederland, wasn’t thinking much of it other than I’m going to get some food and go about my day. Let me tell you!!!! I ordered the queso burger and I caught myself moaning with each bite, like it was the best thing I’ve put in my mouth in a looooong time. That whole day I couldn’t stop thinking about it. And I’m not much of a food person, I eat bc I have to. I rarely dream about food, hardly ever think about it. But I could NOT get this burger out of my head. I was hooked, and so I ventured out there a few more times within the next couple weeks, each experience the same as the first. I dunno what kind of voodoo magic they got going on in that kitchen, but WOWZA! This places has me hooked. Not only is the food delicious, but the staff are so friendly and attentive. After one order, they knew what I wanted everytime I walked in that door. Now I don’t recommend a lot of places to eat especially in this area, but if you only knew what you are missing out on, you would make the drive. Call me crazy but I’m officially addicted to food, just this food and I want it ALL the time. The Dude’s food should be renamed as Carli’s Food ☺️ bc I just can’t get enough of it.
