“I’m from the Midwest but I went to college down here in the RGV. Back here visiting, we always hit the raspa stands. This one was really good! The best picosito I’ve had in years!! The wife got the mangonada, that was also excellent! My son got a raspa along with a marranada which was super good too!! There were some others in our party that got coconut cream and some other stuff. Everything was really good!! Best of all I think we got 5 raspas and that marranada and the total was only about $15. If they had a stand where I’m from they could charge $5 per raspa and make a killing!“
“During a day trip to Harlingen we stopped in this little restaurant for breakfast. It doesn't have a very extensive menu, but the upside is a super friendly staff and great food! Seems to be a family business, very informal. We requested a business card which referred to the place as the Pastry House. And yes, they do have a case full of great-looking pastries... plenty of cupcakes and regular sized cakes. On Google Maps it shows up as the City Coffee Shop, which has only two reviews on TripAdvisor. TripAdvisor does not list Pastry House at all, so the name may have changed just recently. We encourage you to stop in, enjoy a meal, and grab a cupcake or two.“
“Went for breakfast. It’s a small nice cozy place. Super cute and welcoming. I got the single pancake/waffle breakfast plate.. The way the plating is done, love it. So cute and elegant. They offer a size for two. Got coffee with the plate. Def recommend. I will be back to try a different dish ?“
“Super friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It was my first time trying this place and highly recommend. They were super patient and answered all of our questions. Even gave us some tips about keto to help us out. I will definitely be a regular. So far I can say my favorite is the strawberry brownie. Can’t wait to try everything else.“
“Food was delicious but very pricey. It's not a place my budget can afford. Service was almost none existent. I would have loved to have a tea refill but waitress never showed. We had to get up and find her to order dessert. Ambiance was nice. It was clean and beautifully decorated with an old fashioned touch. At times it was quiet.“

“This place has a quaint and homely atmosphere. Home cooked dishes, friendly people and very good prices. There may be a little wait to get your food if they are busy because it appears to be family-run, but your tummy will thank you for being patient because the food is most definitely worth it. “Hadn't been here in over 15 years, thought I'd come back and give it a try. Surprised hours are still the same, but either way, their food is quite tasty, very good plates, and very well served. I enjoyed my plate it consisted of carne guisada, 2 enchiladas, rice and beans, and 1 flour tortilla, which those tortillas are so good. The reason I say this is because most restaurants have this some bitter taste at times as if too much of an ingredient in the flour tortillas, and these imparticular are very good and taste Freshly off the comal. I really recommend it. I'm positive that a Taco would be amazing taste. And like I said, their food is great. The sad part is they do not serve breakfast all day, just mornings, then lunch kicks in. That I was like, hmm, so much for breakfast for me. I mean, breakfast is not just for breakfast mornings, y'all. But it is what it is.. go by and get yourself some good authentic Mexican food..“
