“I recommend that they stop serving old hard fried chicken wings & large thighs w/all that fat on ToGo orders so when U drive all the way home you're stuck with a bad order. I bought 3 orders Fifth Ward Specials $36.60 & 1 Red Bean w/Rice + 1 Macaroni w/Cheese $6.69 which was not good at all. Tasted old & we don't live very close by but my church is near by & does a lot of business with Frenchy's but for me & mine we will not do business with Frenchy's. This was at your East Fwy. Store“

“You know something? I'm born and raised in Texas, and I was always used to KFC, Popeyes, and so on. None of them compare to Jollibee, and I am being so serious on saying that. The chicken is FRESH, and they have so many tasty options to choose from. That peach mango pie? Dear lord.... it's so good, and I'm not a pie person! I'm happy I tried it. Last thing—the staff is very friendly, courteous, and ACCESSIBLE. We need more of this everywhere.

Hot was pretty spicy if you like drinking lots of water and too much pickle taste. Medium was perfect, not too hot, similar to wingstop mild. Would recommend if you like hot chicken“

“Doctor appointments in Houston mean trying new places! We've been looking forward to trying Pok Pok Po for a few weeks since we saw Shawn the Food Sheep's video review. It did not disappoint! This is the best chicken ever! Look at the seasoning on those fries! My chicken sandwich had an amazing sauce and kimchi on it. Caleb had the chicken nugget basmati rice bowl with kimchi. The side sauces are to die for, and perfectly complemented all we had. PLOT TWIST-- there are two concepts kitchens in one store front!! Pok pok Po shares a space and is the same company/chef as Bōl--a Chipoltle-style Indian food concept. We were able to try a wide sample of their fares including the rice, lamb, cauliflower, potatoes, paneer, pickled onions, avocados, and cucumber salad, airy potatoes crisps, mango Lassi, and samosa. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Staff, manager, and chef take pride in their establishment and value the experience of the customer. Everything there is gluten free (except the burger bun--but make it a wrap or a salad!) And halal, and the chicken is anibiotic free. Everything was spotless, bathrooms were nice and big.Free parking!“

One wrong step, and boom — I’m free-falling like a majestic bowling ball with commitment issues. No parachute, no plan, just pure aerodynamic panic. As I plummeted through the clouds, I saw my life flash before my eyes — mostly memories of me saying, “It’s fine, I’ve got this.” Spoiler alert: I did not got this. Then fate intervened. Out of all the places on Earth, I crash-landed right through the roof of Houston Hot Chicken like a meteor made of confusion and regret. “Slim Chickens is my new favorite fast food chain. Whataburger sold out and the quality has tanked. Almost everything in this place is handmade, chicken is freshly battered, lots of drinks and desserts. Music and old school diner ambiance is cool. People working there were pretty nice.

“Jollibee, a fried chicken brand from the Philippines. My first time trying it, and the taste is perfect for Asian palates. The spiciness is good, and it's not too salty. The combination of fried chicken drumsticks and gravy is simply a perfect match. Its pineapple beef patty burger also had a lot of mayonnaise-like juice. Its rice is also cooked very fragrant. I'll come again next time. It won't be the improved version.“

We eat there (inside); we have picked up orders in our cars; and... we use curbside pickup to avoid the long lines. Highy recommended.
