“Great food! The chicken is packed with flavor, tender, and juicy. The Red beans and rice are what brought us back for the 2nd time! So good! The service is good, friendly staff. Make sure you pay the extra for the special green sauce! Chef's kiss! This will be my place when I want rotisserie chicken. I live 30 minutes away and its worth the drive.“
“If you've never been to La Fogata, as soon as you finish reading this review, drive over there and get some excellent Colombian food. I came here for lunch yesterday with a couple of colleagues. This wasn't my first time coming. I've been here multiple times. It is a right of passage to bring colleagues new and old here for lunch and it never fails to satisfy.First of all, this restaurant is very clean and spacious. There is plenty of room and space available for groups. I've come with up to 15 people during lunch and had no problem getting seated right away. The staff is super friendly, making you feel very welcome as soon as you enter. You will be greeted not only by the friendly smiles of the staff but also the hypnotic sounds of tropical and salsa music, making this a very upbeat and vivacious environment! It is impossible to walk in here and not be in a great mood.I rarely order the same dish twice when I return to a restaurant I have already visited but La Fogata is definitely an exception to that rule. I keep ordering the same dishes here. They are that good! First, you have to begin with the empanadas. You cannot go wrong with the Empanadas de Res (beef) or the Empanadas de Pollo (chicken). Since I am usually here with a group, I prefer to order both. The meat, potato and rice combined with the deep fried yellow corn shell warm my soul as soon as I take a bite. This has to be one of the best appetizers out there. Dip them in a little aji, which is a sauce made from a mix of tomatoes, peppers, onions and cilantro and you will want to eat more than one. Save room though because you will need it for the main course. The star of the show and what keeps me coming back for more is the Bandeja Paisa. This is the perfect meal. The only way I can describe it is sheer and utter satisfaction! When the plate is placed in front of you, the dilemma that will face you is where to begin. The carne asada (grilled skirt steak), chicharron ( fried pork belly), chorizo (Colombian sausage), Huevo frito (fried egg), arroz (white rice), frijoles (red beans), plátano madero (fried sweet plantain), aguacate (avocado) and arepa (white corn patty) will sate any appetite. This meal is large enough to feed two people! Every time I eat this meal, I am set for the rest of the day. Trust me, if you order this, you will not regret it and you will walk out of there feeling like you made an excellent choice. I've tried other Colombian restaurants and I can honestly say, I haven't found one that makes Bandeja Paisa to match the quality of La Fogata! I haven't even found a close contender yet. Give a round of applause to the staff cooking this food! They are making something special here!“
“My wife and I enjoyed delicious empanadas and the forever classic bandeja paisa for lunch. We absolutely loved it and shared a great conversation with the owner as well. Really sweet woman that’s doing an excellent job. We’ll be back for more!“
“I was actually very impressed, the food has an authentic taste as much as you can get outside of Colombia, the servings were generous. I tried a luch size bandeja, the pork skin was not greasy but was crunchy and delicious, the sweet plantains were not soggy nor too ripped, but firm and taste, the avocado was frwsh without blemishes, I was very satisfied with my lunch. Defenitely better taste than most Colombian places in Houston.“
“The best Colombian restaurant in Houston!!! The delicious food and the Colombian atmosphere are the best. Our waiter was Jesús, excellent service, very professional, attentive and friendly. I would return here without thinking twice. Thank you Jesus!!“
“Toño Parrilla is a Colombian food restaurant in Katy. They have excellent service and the food is delicious. I recommend trying all the dishes, since they are all good. You are sure to have an incredible experience at Toño Parrilla! ?️??“
“My favorite Colombian food spot there nice and take there time to understand what u want there prices are great for a good portion of food.I just don't like that they only take cash I feel like they will get more business if they accept card/Apple Pay.“
“The bread is 10/1010/10 super fresh juicesEmpanadas 8/10Tray /6/10 dry chorizo, tasteless steak, chicharrón lacking more friedService 10/10 very friendly and attentive3.11.24 today if the empanadas were not fresh, they were reheated and the edges of the embossing were very hard and the tray was very bad, especially the flavorless rice and the pork rinds not washed before frying with a super unpleasant taste.“
“"My experience at La Cazuela de Marina, a Colombian restaurant in the US, was a feast for the senses. From the first bite, I was captivated by the authenticity of their traditional Colombian dishes: vibrant flavors and delicious aromas. The welcoming atmosphere It transported me straight to Colombia, with charming decor and ambient music that complemented the dining experience. The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff that made my visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying their tumba paisa and empanadas, "Authentic flavors that will take you on a culinary journey to Colombia! Without a doubt, I will return to continue exploring their delicious menu and relive this unparalleled experience."“
“Very good place to eat, between my little town restaurant and this one, a thousand times I prefer this one, good service, homemade food, you don't sit in a restaurant if you don't eat at home, and the best thing is very economical, 100% recommended“
“Cash only!! Their chicken was delicious. Got the family platter, pretty sizeable for reasonable price. Their juices are delicious. It's a quick sit down restaurant. Pick up your food at the counter. The chicken was juicy. The green sauce, spicy!!! Good parking up front. Worth a try.“
“It's so hard to get good Colombian food in Houston lately. I am very happy with this place, yesterday Sunday I went with my family and we were all very satisfied, the food was exquisite, everything we ordered was very delicious, from the appetizers to the main meal and dessert, everything was delicious. 10 out of 10 I give the food ??. The only thing I didn't like was that they gave us a small chili for 4 empanadas and a stuffed potato for a family of 4, I asked for a little more chili and they told me they charged for it, I think it was the sauces and in this case the chili , they are free in most restaurants, if you are consuming other products on the menu, another detail is that 2 waitresses served us, we liked the attention of one more than the other, but the one who brought the bill was the one who almost didn't We liked the attention, we gave a tip of $40 so that it was $20 for one and $20 for the other, but they told us that the entire tip went to the one who brought us the bill because we had paid by card ??,“
“We’ve been wanting to try columbian food and finally did. I had empanadas and my husband ordered the bandeja paisa. It was good but I recommend the columbian bread instead. The bread is really good! The buñuelo was my favorite! The staff was friendly and explained what each bread was.“
“First, the one negative. There's a big neon sign in the window that says "Breakfast" and there was nothing breakfast related on the menu. Maybe it was a time of day thing, but we went at 11am on Saturday so I figured it would be available. Not a big deal. Menu has lots of options. We got the bistec al caballo (the closest thing to a traditional "breakfast" I saw as it was steak and eggs) and the enchiladas suizas with chicken. Both plates were excellent. Not a traditional steak, more like a thin piece of flank steak that had been braised until tender, but not quite to the point where it was falling apart under its own weight. It paired well with the fried eggs and the salsa criolla. All served over a bed of white rice that absorbed all of the flavors nicely. I added a chile toreado on the side and chopped it up with the rest of the salsa criolla on top of the steak to give it a bit of heat. Highly recommended. The enchiladas were also excellent. Chicken looked and tasted like it was cooked in the same sauce as the beef. The chicken was a bit dry but the cheese and green sauce that covered the enchiladas more than made up for it. Served with beans and a bit of rice with peas and carrots, everything on the plate was great. If you don't speak Spanish, you may have trouble communicating with the server. I can't speak for everyone there but I'm fairly certain the server working when we went did not speak English. But they are on DoorDash, so this is also an option if you want to order delivery or takeout. Sign on the door said they were BYOB, but we didn't ask what the restrictions were or if there was any additional charge for this. It looked like they had a good selection of aguas frescas as well.“
“I think that the person who serves the premises is very friendly and very attentive to good service. I have already visited the place 3 times and the same girl continues with the same quality of service. I recommend it 100% while you wait for some delicious Colombian empanadas and the red one that they serve you. It's like being at home, thank you for your good service and kindness.“
“Ohhh my Lord!! ???♥️This is it!!! There are soooooo many overrated places here in Houston offering Colombian food, and to be honest, I get so mad when they’re all about the price, the name and the popularity, that they forget to ???? ?? ?????????: ?????????, ????????, ?????????, ???????? ????????, ??? ?????????? ??????!!Let me tell, the amount of ????????? places I’ve been here is long, and I named them, they’d probably be mad for all I have to say……but then there’s Roasti Pollo ♥️Their food is sooooo good! I ordered the Colombiana burger for my son, and he was so happy with it, I went back again today and I ordered another one!Last time I came here I ordered the rotisserie chicken with yuquitas, papas saladas, and the sinfully delicious arepitas, along with rice and beans and the guanábana juice… I’m telling you, my son ate eeeeeverthing in two days ?Today I ordered the grilled tilapia, and nope, there was no box to take home, because it was gone!!Y’all need to come here and let beautiful Paola take care of y’all! What a little Colombian gem of a restaurant!!“
“A must whenever I visit Houston, the small venue reminds me of Caicedona and Buga. There used to be small apartments that were made into make shift restaurants.. a piece of home in Houston. I had a Passion Fruit Juice with milk, and beef empanadas with Ají to tease the palate. The main course was a Oxtail Stew with plantain, yuca root, and potatoes (Sancocho de Cola) served with rice and salad. I will always come here to relive that taste of home. Topped off the experience with an apple soda, Manzana. Marines always delivers an experience.P.S. If the wait staff want to play Lana Del Rey...let them.. it's as close as we get to modern day vallenatos.“
“This past weekend, for some reason, craving a good hotdog. Google mapped a for spots near my house and bases on ratings decided to try this spot. Omg! Was not disappointed!! Upon arrival, immediately greeted by Wilbert, who took the time to explain the menu with every ingredient and toppings (sauce)..The food was excellent! The juices were delicious! I will be back. It's definitely a great atmosphere surrounding the food truck with great music and vibes! Highly recommended ❤️❤️“
