I’ve contemplated writing a bad review on this restaurant the first time around. Today was the second visit for me and my family because we wanted to really like this place.
The first time we came here, the server didn’t place our second food order. My plate was brought out, but my fiancé’s food never came. We had to ask about his food, turns out, the server never put his order in. Okay, that’s fine - they fixed it and brought his food out 15 minutes later.

Based on the reviews, Dakao Restaurant and Bar is a great place for traditional comfort food with an extensive menu offering many options. The food is legit and authentic, with dishes like caramelized pork cooked in the traditional clay pot, which is slightly on the sweeter side. The gourd soup with pork ribs is a little bland but refreshingly good, while the lemongrass fried tofu is hot, crunchy, and yummy. The Thai Tea is amazing, not too sweet, with a fresh strong tea essence. Other favorites include the wings, the broken rice plate with grilled pork, Chinese sausage, and a fried egg, and the egg noodle with wonton soup. The hot pot is excellent with plenty of fish, light and not too heavy. The bun (vermicelli) is the best, similar to what is found in California. The menu includes many drink options from fresh juices to coffee, and the fresh lemonade is recommended. The restaurant is clean with great service, though some servers were a bit cranky.
