“Just went for the first time last week. Had friends that went quite a while ago that didn't recommend it, but decided to give it a try. Am Glad I did. They may have had a rocky start, but was pleasantly surprised by good and solid Tex Mex. The chips and salsa were quite nice, thin and light freshly fired tortilla chips, and a very flavorful salsa. Tried the basics with the Tres Amigo Plate, Crispy Taco, I Cheese and 1 Beef Enchilada, rice and beans. All delicious and what you would expect in a good TexMex establishment. Waitstaff very friendly, and could not be more attentive, and the owner(?) stopped by to see that we were happy. One of the naysayers was with us, and he commented that it was really good, and much better than his original encounter months ago. I know I'll be back.“

Everything we tried was good to get again but my favorite was Carnivore Quesadilla (1/2 Carne Asada 1/2 Al Pastor) & Strawberry Horchata. Also tried Birria Pizza, Smashburger Taco (meat was SO good), chips & queso (pass), Strawberry Limeade (fresh) & Dragon fruit Pineapple.“

“Torchy's is a street taco specialist that started up as a food truck in Austin and has now expanded to over 90 restaurants across the States including this place on Whitestone Blvd. in Cedar Park. They have a fair sized indoor seating area as well as outdoor tables. You can do take-away and delivery as well. Menu features a few not-taco and side items along with their signature list soft tacos that are really good. We had dinner here recently amongst friends, tried 6-7 of their different tacos, let's just say that nobody complained and we gladly finished them all. Torchy's is a neat place that is family friendly and a good spot to meet up with friends. Prices are reasonable, range of taco options good and they seem to know what they are doing in the kitchen. Would gladly eat here again and do take-away for meals at home.“

“I have been looking for a Mexican restaurant closer to my house for a while. I accidentally came across this one when getting Papa John’s pizza.

First, when we entered the restaurant it was not busy and a staff member politely said sit anywhere you want. He then grabbed some menus and took our drink order. So far, looking good!

I know it’s not a big deal around here but we lived somewhere else for a while and fell in love with white queso dip, this is the first place in Austin that we found it at. I eat at 5-6 times a week so that’s a big statement. It needed some milk to thin it up a little as within 5 minutes it was so thick it was no longer that great. But with a little milk it would have been amazing.

Also, it’s hard to find chimichangas around here which I find weird. This place has them and they are big, filled with chicken. That said, they added some kind of cheese inside that was so thick you couldn’t get it chewed up to swallow. Kinda ruined it imho. A lot of places around here make enchiladas with that same type of cheese, I’m not a fan of gaging on unchewable cheese so es lo que es. Without that cheese in it and with the white queso on top this would be a killer changa.

Chips were just ok. I prefer warm chips that are super fresh. The place we have been eating for years now has super warm fresh chips, I love that. Salsa was actually really good. I liked it better than my usual place.

My son had their burger. He is pretty picky so when he said he didn’t like it we were suspect, but my wife likes everything and she also thought it tasted weird. The bacon tasted fine, the meat was fine, but the bun had some strange taste. Not sure what is was but nobody wanted it and it got tossed barley half eaten.

Gordita was good, nothing special. Maybe a different meat? Try chicken if we come back.

Beans and rice were not fresh at all and not that tasty. Hoping for better next attempt.

Price was average for local restaurants.

In closing, I bet they will modify the chimichanga for me and my wife liked it and wants to try more things. So, we will come back and give it another go. Update when we do. It’s definitely worth a go as everyone different taste.“

The Taco truck is tucked away in a no-frills lot with 2 competing taco trucks. While i cant speak to the other 2, this was an AMAZING PICK.

I had a Bajio Steak taco, and a Pastor - one of the best tacos i have had in Austin.

I wll be adding Bajio to my frequent list“

“I’m recommending them because their food is so good! Because the food is so good I placed a catering order for a small party I was throwing. SADLY, I don’t know if I would do it again as the food was over half an hour late. I called the store about it and whoever answered the phone was basically like “what do you want me to do?” I’m upset because I called Saturday to double check and then again Sunday morning at 10:40 knowing that the order should have been gone from the store at least 10 minutes ago to get to my house on time and they told me they were just leaving. Once it was late the person on the phone told me they could “take a few dollars off” this was 300$ in catering and could have ruined my party. They never called back to follow up and I am just so disappointed. I’ll still grab take out from there but won’t use them to cater again“

“Honestly, I was very sad to see Sandy's close. It was an iconic Lakeway burger joint. But Honestly, I feel like it has been replaced by something much better. This is a family establishment and you feel like family the minute you walk in. The food is impeccable, authentic Mexican. I can't say enough good things about it. I will be a lifelong customer!“

“What a great surprise this place was! The food was amazing (we visited on a Saturday evening when the bbq pit was fired up:) and the service was great. Raquel was our waitress and guided us through the specials being offered and was so friendly and helpful. We went with the chicken and ribs plate and were extremely happy with our choice. “This was our first time to eat here. We ordered online and got it to go, and we'll definitely be back soon for the chicken and tacos! We had a half chicken meal and chicken taquitos--both very tasty! The 5 chicken taquitos came on double mini corn tortillas topped with onion and cilantro. Coupled with a small side of guacamole and some salsa, there was enough to turn the 5 taquitos into 10 with the doubled tortillas. The sweet plantains were a nice side too. Surprisingly, the queso came topped with some sort of shredded beef-a lot of it-which was a surprise. I don't eat beef, so I skipped it. The queso was primarily for my son, and he would have preferred it without meat added too; he tried to scoop out the beef to discard, but it was pretty well integrated into the cheese.“

The service was great for only one waiter but restaurant was also slow for Saturday around 4pm. Only 3 tables with guest. The waiter was very polite and professional. But my husband, knowing that it was my favorite restaurant, made a reservation for my birthday. It’s a good thing he did because the place was packed. It was the day before Thanksgiving. Have no way to contact them, so hoping this reaches the restaurant.
