“Well this little gem was a win win for me! Very first visit the gentleman behind the counter was friendly and explained the process to me. I decided on cookies and cream my fave! I had him put caramel on top. It was delicious and creamy and not overly sweet. The store itself is pretty basic a couple of tables and chairs with the ice cream behind the glass. Reminded me of the ice cream shops from way back when.“

“I’m going to be fair with a four star rating due to this just not being my thoughts as to what an Italian ice is supposed to be. There’s gelatos, there sorbettos, the granatas, and then there is this. They are kind of like a mix between a granata and either a sorbetto or gelato depending on what you get. When I think of Italian ice, I think of a tart lemon or a savory sweet strawberry. However, this is just not what they serve. My daughter liked it, and her friends seemed to as well. I would prefer a simple snowcone to this. However, they do seem to achieve what they are trying to do with the crowd that they are focusing on. If they ever got a super sour option, I would be completely down to try it again. Until then, I will be making my own granatas.This positive score is only for what my daughter and her friends said about this place.“

Salsas here are good, they're spicy although the salsa rojo is too watery and honestly bland in comparison, I much prefer the verde even if it isn't as spicy. The ice cream that I had was a combination from one of the workers: cinnamon, birthday cake, with yellow cake mixed in, and I added banana ice cream as well. “We always get ice cream on a trip. That's our way of ending our day/trip on a sweet note. I looked up ice cream shops in stockyard and MELT ice cream popped up at the very front. Then I walked out of a chain burger store and noticed, hey, it's right across the street and people are eating ice cream in this 50 something degree weather, this must be good.I smiled at a mom walking out of the shop with her kids, and asked her if the ice cream is good. She gave me a thumbs up and said it's worth it. When we walked in the store it smelled amazing, I felt like walking into a bakery. I wanted to try out fun flavors but my kids insisted on what they know best- vanilla bean and strawberry. As a family we discuss, negotiate, and compromise. So we ordered vanilla bean and strawberry.Since we're sharing the ice cream and cone, I told myself it's okay to order 2 scoops. Vanilla on top, strawberry below, in a vanilla cone. But oh boy it was gigantic and it took the 3 of us a good 15 minutes to finish. The vanilla was surprisingly sweeter than the strawberry but I really appreciate MELT not adding too much sugar and using fresh ingredients. We can really taste the difference. We will come back when we're in the stockyard. Hopefully, the kids will at least let me try chocolate then.“
