“Asked my waiter if he could make me a traditional Mexican style margarita. meaning, Many Tex Mex Restaurants use WAY to much sweet & sour. A true Mexican style margarita is 1 oz Tequila, 1 oz Controy (orange liquor) and 1/2 oz of fresh lime and 1/2 oz of simple syrup. That paired with the El Pastor taco’s, Baracho beans is solid.”

“Don't let the building fool you. (I have rule for food establishments the older it looks the better it is). This place is unbelievable. Bark on the brisket and pulled pork was a perfect balance of seasoning, smoke and natural flavor of meat. I had the brisket, ribs and pulled pork (three meat plate) Brisket was moist and perfect balance of flavor, the ribs fell off the bone as I picked them up off the plate, and yet again perfect balance all the way through, the pulled pork was excellent and again balanced just right. The BBQ sauce was a perfect blend for pork or beef just added that extra level to all the meats. Now to the desserts!!!! The buttermilk pie was excellent not to sweet not to savory, the chocolate cake was like a true home made cake and the pecan pie was devine!!!!! Had to try all three with my family. Kerrville is lucky to have an establishment as good as this place. Well done 5 stars all the way around”

“I just found this place a couple days ago. The food is very good, cheap and they are very fast at getting it to you. The cashiers were nice and friendly and took their time explaining things to me because it was my first time at the restaurant. I believe there is an outside patio area, but everyone takes their food since it’s mostly breakfast served.”

We drove to Kerville, (25 miles out of our way), to try the Cafe. We have told several people about it. Guess what? They already loved the place. Are we the last to discover this heavenly restaurant? None of the people we mentioned the restaurant to live in Kerrville. They all drive a distance to eat there!”

Someone came in and turned the TV up loud, then proceeded to yell back and forth with other workers as they walked by on occasion. Not my favorite. The food was okay, service was okay.”

I have been trying to find the best tacos in Kerrville and the one that some people said wasn't good, turned out to be the best one to me!
Great quality, taste, portions and preparation.
Authentic except for one type of taco and that's the carne guisada. It was more like a brisket taco and had no guisada (gravy). The Picadillo, beef fajita, bean and cheese and potato egg and cheese are my favorites 😋
My review is based upon multiple visits and after trying Mary's a few times as a comparison because of the local stories.
Final opinions are that Rita's has the most authentic tacos overall, taste the best and has far better service than many restaurants of any type in town!
Prices are on point for the generous portions and much better quality than any other tacos I have tried, from Ingram to Comfort and that's many.
I'm hungry just by doing this review!”

“ITS HEB....NUFF SAID. Also if you're looking for the spot to get the best chicken tenders in Kerrville, this is where you need to go! I know that sounds silly because I'm reviewing a barbecue place, don't get me wrong the barbecue's good! But these chicken tenders are supreme! They're fries are super delicious and sometimes I order them alone! Also they have this cool little deal where if you buy one of their mugs which even at the largest size is 10 bucks, you can always go in at any point in time and get refill for $0.99! I bought the biggest mug of course! It's always clean and the service is always great! There is an entire bar to sit at with USB ports and charging stations in case you would like to go in and sit and do a little bit of work! Any type of seating that you prefer is there! There is a bar with bar stools! There are high top tables with bar stools! There are regular tables with regular chairs! And there are booths! I don't know what significance that has, but it literally has all the different types of seating 🤣🤙🏼 it's always nice and cool in here too and never stuffy! Make this a regular spot for yourself!”

Which is critical when you’re stressed or tired after being with a loved one here. The cafeteria is clean, well lit and has doors leading to tables outside next to trees and green grass. It is indeed a stress reliever.Good prices/value. $5.99 for breakfast plate and coffee (i had a long espresso). Good selection.My only complaint is that the grill closes at 3pm and the whole thing shuts down relatively early IMO.”

“Been wanting to try this for so long! Yum yum! We might make it a weekly thing! We used to go to Chipotle when we lived in San Antonio and were bummed there wasn't one here in Kerrville. We kept driving by when running errands, finally decided to try it, and so glad we did. The food is just as good as Chipotle and the servers are better, as they are focused on the customer instead of blasting loud music.”

“I had a nice lunch at Cartwheels Catering aka Carte & Co Market which serves Merit Coffee (Tex. USA). The meatloaf special included green beans and mashed potatoes. Today, they offered a refreshing peach lemonade. For dessert, I enjoyed a lemon bar with a Merit Coffee. Service was friendly and quick. Tip: this place is kinda "tucked away" in the shade behind a fairly large Mountain Laurel. Just look for the shiny silver bistro chairs that are along the porch in front of their cafe.

Parking: Park near the Behavior Resource Center which is near Cartewheels front door.”
