“This donut shop is located inside a strip center on the north side of 290 where you'll find plenty of parking. Once inside, you'll notice three tables that you can dine at as you are greeted by large glass display cases full of pastry goodies. I got here at almost 11 AM on a weekday and there were still plenty of donuts and lots of kolache's left. I decided to skip the smaller breakfast tacos and go with one of their large croissant, ham, and cheese sandwiches, which was quite filling. Their donuts are good, but not as good as their baked goods which really stand out. If you're an early riser and leaving the ShadowGlen subdivision in the early morning hours, you'll find this place is open at 5 AM. They do offer coffee for the morning commuter. When you pay with your credit card, you'll be pleased to know this is one of the few businesses where you are not greeted with a tip screen, although there is a tip jar. The only thing that's missing is a drive up window.“

I came through and they made me a fresh right there order of heart shaped doughnuts that I took to my ladies on Valentine's Day! These things were piping hot in the box, perrrty, glazzy and happy - all at the same time!!!! While I waited for them to be made I got a apple fritter. Pretty standard sugar staple... But effective! I'll go back. My only problem with the place is they close at 1pm. I mean that does guarantee fresh doughnuts... But it definitely means no afternoon sweets to bring home.“

“What a gem! The absolute best bahn mi in Austin! Plus they have espresso/coffee drinks now! And they give you a free cup of soup while you wait. Their new renovations also improved the atmosphere in a big way.The owner makes her own bread everyday, in addition to the entire pastry case (don’t leave without a dessert)!!I love going here for business meetings or when I’m meeting up with friends for lunch. “My wife finally finished her Masters thesis project on a Saturday night so I wanted to surprise & celebrate her big achievement the next day with sweets, however I couldn't find a place that was either open on Sunday or a place that did not require an order placed in advance. Suga's Cakery (Patricia) thankfully was open and after chatting with her via her website, I placed an order for 6 different cupcakes.No B.S., these were the most delicious cupcakes my wife and I had ever eaten & we come from NYC and have eaten at Magnolia Bakery when it was all the rage. Patricia's cake was moist, the icing just the right amount of sweet, and you can taste that these were handmade and made by someone who puts care into their baking.Besides the fantastic cupcakes, Patricia is the warmest and sweetest baker. After about 15 mins she text me that the order was ready. I went to pick them up & told her why I was buying the cupcakes, she took a cupcake into the back and wrapped the top in fondant with a "Congrats" written on top to celebrate my wife's accomplishment.What a wonderful, thoughtful gesture! You will not find that kind of above & beyond service at a supermarket or other big box store where you can purchase cakes & sweets. We like to support local small business and Suga's Cakery has two new life-long customers. A truly great place to indulge when that sweet tooth acts up. I promise that you will not be disappointed!“

“I have very strong gluten intolerance, and I love this place for their GF options. They may not be many, at this point in time, but I like them all. It's very hard to find a bakery that does GF options, especially on a top tier pro level.My favorite is the chocolate chip cookies(when you can get them). If you didn't know they're Gluten-Free, you wouldn't be able to tell. The GF Brownies are my second choice, and regular choice. Then when I'm feeling fancy or need a switch, I go for the Almond Cake. The flavor is delicate and lightly sweet, almost honey esque. Looking forward to them adding more GF options. And then if I could also request Lactose-Free addition, that would be choice and I would spend more time here than I already do.This spot is definitely worth it. “Hands down best Donut shop in North Austin . I've been going here since elementary school when they opened back in the mid 2000s! Almost 18 years later even though I've moved further north I always stop by once a month when I'm playing drums at my home church (Mount Sinai Baptist Church ) further down the road on Cameron RD ! Quality is amazing ! Not overly sweet but sweet enough and very soft and light ! Worth every calorie ! The owners / staff are lovely people and so kind ! He was familiar with the products and I felt comfortable speaking with him about it. I purchased the Cajeta empanadas today and was not disappointed. The pie crust is flaky and sugary. “This bakery is wonderful and the people are very helpful!! The manteconchas were the hit of the Fiesta!!! Guests could not stop asking me where I bought them. I went in the day before the event and ordered 150 pieces of pan dulce. I picked everything up very early the next morning and everything was perfectly packed and ready to go!!
