Restaurant was slow so they were able to honor my original reservation inside. This start to the lunch was concerning but the waiter & the food made up for it. Overall, I wasn't satisfied.. my favorite go to meal from here is chicken and waffles 🧇 and that's what I will stick with and that's the only reason I gave the food 4 stars.“

Our server, Kimberly was so compassionate, kind, and respectful. She was absolutely excellent in all areas of value customer service delivery. “My new favorite hole in the wall local Mexican Restaurant. I’ve always had a torta quest sine my neighborhood restaurant closed 15 years ago. This place has fresh homemade food. I ordered a torta and to my surprise it was really good! And it came with some homemade red and green salsa. It was on point. And to wash it all down, they have fresh watermelon aqua. That drink was so refreshing. I will most definitely be returning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will stop in to try their breakfast. So excited!!“

“We came late afternoon on a Saturday so it was pretty quiet. We were seated immediately, our server Devon was great! Appetizers came out quick and everything was delicious. The onion rings are YUMMY and the portion was huge! We didn’t order any wings, but all of our entrees were really good. The margarita shrimp tacos are highly recommended with the bacon cheddar burger coming in a close second. Beer was cold, tea was sweet and we will definitely be back!“

“I have been eating here for years! I lived down the street and would always end up here for lunch. It’s a great spot with delicious homemade food and they are not shy on the portions! The staff is very friendly and the food always smells so good. Personally I love the Texas Original Chicken Sandwich with Tots. I also love their Burgers and Philly Cheesteaks. I don’t live close anymore, but any chance I get, I stop by for some delicious grub! If you ever find yourself in the area, this is a great spot to try!“

“Love going to Busy Bee. We went this last Saturday as we do every Saturday. Savannah was our server and she was kind and did a great job. Christina usually is our server and she is great, but she was not working that day and Savannah did a great job serving us. We like all the servers there and we go there a lot and feel like we are with family. Always enjoy the food and company.“

“My wife was craving pupusas but I was craving pollo asado so we ordered both.The pupusas were big and stuffed with cheese. The curtido had the perfect “pickled” taste. The salsa was tasty with a kick!The pollo asado plate fed us both and we had enough left over for a second round each. The pollo asado was very flavorful and the smoked sausages were a nice surprise. The rice was good and the charro beans were delicious. They had a good amount of sausage and bacon in them.“

“EVERYTHING is fantastic here! My parents were married in 1963 in Freeport. They honeymooned in Galveston. They drove through Alvin and stopped at Dairyland on the way. Since they were teenagers they drank Cherry Dr Pepper and they said Dairyland has 1 of the best! We moved to Alvin in 1977. I have been going to Dairyland and eating and hanging out for the last 45 yrs!! I have had everything on the menu and it’s all good! “I can’t say enough about the amazing customer service we received tonight at Slim Chickens! My husband and I came in about 25 minutes before closing (which I felt bad about, especially ordering chicken and waffles), but Peyton Hyatt and Esmeralda Salazar never made us feel like an inconvenience. They greeted us with genuine kindness, no attitude, no rush—just great hospitality.

While we were waiting, I noticed banana pudding jars in the window and asked about them. Peyton not only showed me the pudding, but also pointed out the other dessert options they had available. As my husband and I talked, Peyton and Esmeralda decided among themselves that they wanted to surprise me—and they bought me a banana pudding out of their own pocket! That kind of thoughtfulness and kindness is rare these days and it truly made my night.

These ladies went above and beyond with their customer service, turning what could have been an ordinary late-night stop into a memorable experience. Slim Chickens is lucky to have employees like Peyton and Esmeralda. They definitely deserve recognition (and a raise!) for representing the brand with so much heart.
