More limited menu than your standard Chinese takeout place but I can assure you the flavor is perfect! We love the beef lo mein, tempura shrimp, gyoza, spring rolls, egg rolls, and sweet and sour chicken. It’s our go to for Chinese takeout and I love that it’s small, locally owned, neighborhood mom and pop shop!“

“My family has been coming to North China for 40 years, starting back when it was run by the previous generation of the family owners and when it was tucked away near memorial city mall.

I have always appreciated the service, the uniquely prepared dishes like Beijing fish filets and sandong beef that I cannot get anywhere else, and their distinct preparations of staples like hot and sour soup (they serve this soup super piping hot and add delicious pickled Chinese radish/greens to it). An added bonus are their comfort food style Korean dishes—something that is again pretty unique for a Chinese restaurant to offer.

I was still in elementary school when my parents would take me here. Now I am the parent and I take my own family here regularly, even though it’s a bit of a drive for us.

“Let me start with the reservation first. So I was originally trying to book the other place (their competitor around the area iykyk) at first and I called 3 weeks in advance but they asked me to call back a week before my planned date. But for some reasons they didn’t allow me to make a reservation for the weekend because of the World Cup. I was low key mad but then I found Midnight Kabob. I called and they took my big party reservation.

We came here to celebrate my birthday on Sunday. We had a large group around 15 people. The food was amazing and the server was amazing! We all had a great time here. I would definitely come back!“

“You have to try their pan-fried soup dumplings! I’m beyond impressed. The wrapper is nice and thin, with a perfectly crispy bottom and juicy, flavorful pork filling. The portion is on the smaller side, and it’s a little pricey, but the quality definitely makes up for it. Overall, I really enjoyed them and will definitely be coming back again!“

“I’m not sure I’ve ever been to a restaurant where the difference between food quality and service quality is so stark. The food deserves a six. Authentic and tasty. Fantastic chew on noodles. The service by contrast deserves a one. Staff is inattentive at best, particularly if you are not fluent in Mandarin. I was ignored when trying to order. They did not bring bowls or plates with which to eat the food. There was no obvious way to get any water and they were grumpy when, after I found a cooler filled with cokes, I wanted to pay for them with a credit card , even though it already paid for the meal using that same credit card. I think it’s really up to this restaurant if it wants to up its reviews. the food as I said is fabulous but if they wanna start getting fives from a broader clientele, they need to start treating customers with more consideration.“

“Went here with my cousin today, the food was absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous! You start with a chicken dish (we got medium spice/size) and it was more than enough for two people to share. The flavor was phenomenal. I particularly liked the onions. After you finish your first dish, they come by and fill your bowl with chicken broth, turning it into a delicious hot pot. All sides you can add on are generous as well. “Ly’s is a gem of a restaurant! Grateful to have found a place to eat halal Chinese and Vietnamese food. The staff is absolutely lovely, provided great recommendations, and were so welcoming the entire way through. “This spot is located inside Jusgo, on the right side of the store, further down from Mala Sichuan. The flavor is simple but delicious and the authenticity is top-tier. When I went, there was just one man handling the register, service, and cooking so do be patient, but the food is worth it! The man is very kind but doesn’t speak English well.

I am still dreaming about the chengdu style cold chicken, which had no bones and tasted like good quality chicken. The protein portions in the chicken and my noodle soup dishes were huge for the pricing, definitely coming back and supporting this place.“
