“This place has really good soul food. I get the veggie plate and I love it. They have dressing on Sundays, which is really good. I typically don't even like soul food places bc they put pork in everything and I can't eat anything but this place doesn't and I appreciate that. The service is great, it's clean and flavorful. 10/10 do recommend“
“I came for dinner last night. The smothered chicken was amazing! The portion was huge. Green beans and mac n cheese were great.I came back this morning for brunch. The chicken and waffles was also good. Very big portion.The owner and staff are very personable.The jazz music playing in the background is at the perfect volume. You can carry on a conversation without shouting.Support local businesses.Give this place some love!“
“Came here for Kenyan Embassy DC ID/Passport event. The atmosphere is really great, thank you to Owner Laban Opande for hosting the embassy for Kenyans in diaspora to meet our ID/Passport needs. The restaurant/kitchen opened earlier than usual to offer breakfast for Kenyans who came for official business. Over all, a well coordinated, painless, actually joyful event. I'm truly grateful and will be back to Sugars. Thank you to embassy staff from DC and ?? and thank you volunteers for coordinating even as you needed services yourselves. Much Appreciated“
“This restaurant is next door to my doctor's office&I often stop&grab a sandwich after an appt. . I always get a chopped beef sandwich&I always really enjoy it!! Yesterday,I ate in my car so I could watch youtube videos while I had lunch. After I was through,I went inside to use their restroom&,as always,the atmosphere was great! The restaurant is so cute&sparkling clean! The employees all smile&say,"Hi!" I'm sure I will continue to grab a sandwich every time I'm over that way!! I highly reccommend!!“
“I politely request the chicken and depart. I have refrained from dining at the buffet due to the appearance of the food not being fresh, although I do not claim that it is not. The establishment is rather small, and the seating arrangements are quite close together, which I personally find uncomfortable.“
“The service was excellent! The food was good. However, the portions are very small. My wife ordered the mahi. It could not have been bigger that 5 oz. My kids (17 and 20) all wanted steak. But, a simple 8oz filet was $83 vs, a standard $50 at Flemmings or Ruth's Chris. Therefore I decided to share the 22 oz Waugh ribeye with my kids. It was the only economical choice. It was not enough food. On the plus side. The waiter was excellent!“
“Food was great service was fast and the outdoor seating was perfect. Met some good people at the inside bar after dinner and had a few drinks. The bartender was friendly and people around us were quick to engage in conversation. We had a good time.“
“We were at the Japanese Gardens in Herman Park area of Houston enjoying the weather and scenery. I decided to look for food and remembered that Gus's opened in Houston awhile ago and haven't tried it since they came to Texas. We love the Memphis Gus's so we loaded up the car and went to the Kirby location. This location is a stand alone Resturant in a large shopping center with a lot of parking, which was fantastic. Large Resturant with plenty of seating. Our server was Stephanie and she was amazing from the time we came in the door. She noticed we were a family of five and noted there was a big table and pointed it out. You come in a sit where you like then the server comes over. She ordered our drinks and appetizer. We ordered the fried green tomatoes which were prepared wonderfully. The tea is fresh and delicious. We ordered our meals and they were hot and fresh. Great tasting. Everyone was kind and friendly. Kudos to Stephanie for being the cherry on the top of a fantastic family outing. Thank you from Willis, TX If you're in the area go try them!“
“This place is special. Innovative approach to gourmet sandwiches. Very tasty food, exceptional across the board! Sliders, Reuben's and more amaze. Prices are pretty standard for this type of food. The service is top notch, too. The downside is over the top butter, cream (high fat) in everything. Some of the tastiest potato salads ever, but could never get more than a couple bites down. Would recommend taste testing dishes with a cross section of customers by age, gender, etc. and take their suggestions seriously.“
