“First time that my wife and I have eaten at this restaurant. Our waitperson was right on point. She made excellent recommendations and provided excellent service without being on top of us.Food was great! We started with fried green tomatoes. Excellently battered and tart. They arrived nice and hot. My wife had the fried catfish, yams, and greens. I had a small bite of the catfish. It was seasoned well, batter had a crunch and was not at all greasy. I had the smothered pork chops with mashed potatoes and greens. All items were good. I particularly liked the liquor of the greens. Portions were great. So, we didn't get a dessert. The only reason I didn't give the atmosphere a 5 is because the large window in the front made me feel like I was in an aquarium. It did bother my wife, the windows are tinted. But, some blinds or some drapery would be helpful.Support this local business!“

“TJ, our server, was the bomb! He was friendly, attentive, knew his stuff, made recommendations too. The food amount was just right, as was the price. The cashier also was knowledgeable; she signed me up for the rewards (Pegs) program in just a few minutes. Now I'm getting a free appetizer when I dine again!“
“**Update** Still love this place. We ordered their chicken sandwich combo...OMGoodness, delicious and huge! The gumbo and cracklings are always a favorite, and my sons enjoyed the stuffed wings and mac/brisket balls. The brown sugar lemonade is a staple ( add bourbon ?)Just found out about this restaurant, last week, on IG. Had no idea it was so close to home. Great variations of Boudin, the cracklings will have you running back for mooorrreee (made to order) & did I mention the gumbo...oh, let mention the guuuuummmbo!! Great jewel to enjoy.“
