“Today I finally tried Layne’s, it was wonderful. The chicken is so much better than Canes or Slim Chickens. This is the best chicken I’ve had besides making homemade tenders, which is exactly what it reminded me of. The chicken was tender and the crust/batter is crispy. Will definitely return to have again. 10/10“

“Eat at this location nearly every other Friday, and it’s usually very fast, friendly and accurate. However, Friday the 10th, this was not the case. As I didn’t recognize more than two folks, I figure there are a bunch of new hires. Large fries were less than half-full, 5-count nuggets had two that were simply bread & didn’t get the requested sauces. Since we were a dine-in customer, the issues were resolved quickly and efficiently… but had I been a drive-thru order, I might not return. Luckily, I’m sure it was a fluke, and I know they usually do a lot better, so I’ll be back. This is simply a heads up for the managers that y’all weren’t on your game today. 2/10/2023 @ 1145.“

“Food is great. I love coming to this place. But it shouldn't take 20 minutes to make a quesadilla when I'm the only person here. Its my only complaint. Everything else is great but there's could be just me or 10 people waiting and it takes 20 minutes to receive food.“

The lovely manager checked on us a few times and made sure everything was to our liking. “Southern hot chicken is not an easy find in Canada so I knew I had to try some while down south, even though it's not essentially Texan food. Glad I ended up at HCK because they do it right! I was at a fork between the chicken and waffles and the mac bowl but decided on the mac. It was such an awesome dish. The mac was thick, creamy and cheesy just the way it should be. The chicken was juicy and the sauce was flavourful. I'm usually not a fan of inventive macs because other sauces can corrupt the cheese sauce but these actually went together spectacularly. Service was fine too.“

“My husband and I tried Lolo’s for the first time on Sunday. We learned that when going to Lolo‘s, you want to put yourself on the waiting list on the app before walking in, we waited two hours to be seated although the music was great and food was mighty tasty. Definitely comfort food. I highly recommend chicken and fish mashed potatoes and collard greens were off the chain Not to mention the cornbread. I have to say the food was definitely worth the wait! We will be returning soon!“

“Ii never liked chicken salad until I ate here. I always go through the drive-thru, and the service is great. The food is superb, and fresh. The best chicken salad, and the best choice for different recipes of chicken salad.
I also love their pickles. This is high quality food at a reasonable price. Delicious!“

“My family has eaten at this establishment for years now. We do not eat there frequently since we live about 30-40 minutes away but it's my son's favorite chicken place so we go as often as we can. The food is always great, I cannot think of a single time we've ever had an issue. The staff has always been kind and attentive. However, today was a unique day. My son asked to eat there for his 6th birthday. Some hours have passed so I hope I am not misremembering the name but Caleb greeted us at the door and provided the best service I've ever had at a fast food establishment from beginning to end. As someone who has worked in the food industry and knows the workers typically do not get the recognition they deserve, I felt it was important to notify his manager and write this review. We are very grateful to Caleb and to Slims for a wonderful experience and my son especially enjoyed his birthday brownie!“

“Came in for date night with my husband and we were jivin’ for a good burger and cold beer. This place hit both cravings out of the park! Heather was our waitress, who was attentive but not helicopter-esque, and an absolute joy. Our burgers were cooked to a perfect medium, the veggies were fresh, and the sidewinders and potato wedges were plentiful. Be sure to come hungry - you definitely won’t leave that way! Cannot wait to come back here as it’s just down the road from the house!“

Calling the store is an endless loop of menu options or voicemail boxes that are not set up. Be sure you check your bags before you pull away!“
