We arrived about two hours before closing and the restaurant was already in full end-of-day mode: chairs on tables and floors being mopped like the finale had started early. Totally get wanting a head start, but the cleaning solution was very strong and ended up making our food taste like it. Brisket with hints of fresh citrus wasn’t quite what we ordered 😅

“My wife and I LOVE Velvet Taco! We were so excited to find out they were opening up a location near where we lived, and have been there a few times since it opened!

On this particular occasion, we forgot to make a small change to our order, and they gave us a whole new taco once we made the adjustment free of charge!

Also, when we were finishing our meal, one of the managers, I think her name is Gabbie, personally introduced herself and gave us a piece of Velvet Cake free of charge!

I usually stick to the basics and don’t venture into fancy rolls, but every single one was incredible—I was genuinely impressed. “I do recommend JJ's the food is tasty but....I walked in on a friday after work around 3:30..I always sit at the bar I was shocked to see the whole bar area was dirty and the floor was sticky! I'm a regular at this location on Tarrant Parkway and have always enjoyed the food and the margaritas....I almost turned around and walked out so disappointed! oh, one other thing, when I order food I always have to ask for silverware! I myself have worked in the food industry years ago, I do know the dirty dishes should be picked up when customers are done eating, this helps to keep the area clean even if you are busy which in this case the bar wouldn't be full of dirty dishes and I'm not exaggerating...it was the whole bar area!“

“This location is a taco truck, and they are clean inside, but they sit outside of a Valero station, which is not the best atmosphere. Yet the food was good and reasonable. You can even call in your orders. Referred by a friend. It did live up to their experience.“

“I have eaten and shared my love of BBQ for years traveling the United States in my job, and living for a time in South Texas enjoying the outstanding Tex Mex cuisine of mesquite wood burning smoked brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, turkey, etc. JR's is a wonderful experience if you are looking for outstanding BBQ, family outing, very professional, friendly staff, with a wide selection of menu options that are simply delicious! I have tried the brisket, pulled pork, chicken, turkey, ribs, mac and cheese, other side dishes, and soups. I have never been disappointed. JR is one of the friendliest, generous, and community- oriented individuals you would ever meet. I have had the opportunity to see his operation from the fire pits in the back, kitchen, and have always been highly impressed with the cleanliness of his facility. That speaks volumes to the importance of not just quality taste, flavor blending of smoke wood meats, but to the importance of food safety. I would highly recommend stopping by and trying the food for yourself as the flavor of mesquite smoked meat is tantalizing to the taste buds, the atmosphere is very friendly/inviting, and the service the best! Suffice it to say that JR and his staff go out of their way to make sure your dining experience is memorable, and enjoyable! “I love this place the Tacos are amazing. Really everything I have had is amazing. Tortas Burritos all of it is so good. The staff is very friendly and attentive to what you want and the way you want it. Very clean from the food station to the dining area. Great place for lunch they do get packed but they makesure you get in and out as fast as they can and still serve great food. If you haven't eaten there I highly recommend it. If there was a way to give them a 100 Star rating I would.“

“What a lovely restaurant! We stumbled upon Kassandra, and I think it is a well kept secret! The salsa is legit, food was full of flavor, and our server was on her second day of work and the kindest server we have had in a while. They offer all day menu and their quesadilla are a real meal. Tortillas are made in house and great!“

At the front counter, Joshua has never met a stranger and will call you by name every time you visit. Don’t know how he remembers all the names, but he does. We had chicke add beef tacos on corn tortillas, they were a yummy delight and just what we were craving.
