“The staff is always nice, friendly and efficient. But I feel terrible for them cause more often than not their POS isn't working. I could understand how they get frustrated when their computer freezes and they can't get anyone out. It's time to upgrade you equipment. I go very often in the morning and it seems almost everytime it's not working.“

“I’ve been coming to The Great Outdoors Sub Shop in Richardson for over 40 years, ever since my college days, and I was so glad to see that the tradition of excellence is still alive and well. The food remains just as impeccable as I remember, and the staff continues to deliver the kind of customer service that made me fall in love with this place decades ago.

On my most recent visit, I was greeted by Auvianna W., who was warm, welcoming, and ready to serve. She reminded me of a manager they had years ago, Rick, who always made sure long nights of studying or quick breaks between classes were made better with great service and my favorite sandwich (always with extra mayo, light thousand, and a strip of mustard!).

I also want to recognize Tina and Liam, who were attentive and enthusiastic as they shared the new menu items with me. Their excitement was contagious and made the visit even more enjoyable.

It’s rare to see a restaurant carry on such a strong legacy for decades, but The Great Outdoors in Richardson truly has. For me, it’s more than just a sub shop — it’s a place filled with memories, tradition, and consistently great food.“

“Left the courthouse for a seatbelt ticket and needed comfort food. Firehouse Subs did not disappoint. I got the medium meatball firehouse sandwich, a brownie and medium drink. Well, the drink was on the house after I doubled back and tried to buy a drink and he just gave it to me. Great team, great food, great value!“

“Came in a few weeks ago and ordered a BBQ chicken pizza in the drive thru, unfortunately, when I got back to the office I noticed it had too much sauce and was a bit raw in the middle. I called the store and Anthony was very kind and offered to replace my pizza. Went in today and he was able to take my order and ensure my pizza was correct. Usually great food and service and appreciate they went above and beyond to make it right.“

I ordered online and within a minute, I got a call from them informing me they were a little backed up/short staffed today so my food would take about 30 minutes. I loved that they set me up for realistic expectations instead of just having me waiting without me knowing why. Even when the delivery driver came, she also apologized for the wait, my sandwich and drink were still all fresh“

“Kevin & every person on his team today (5/25) were rockstars! Not every Jersey Mike’s location is as stellar as this. We play a lot of travel baseball & it’s important to be able to get in & out & have our sandwiches made right. “One of the best restaurant staff I have seen on this side of the city. We ordered $5 pizzas through the mobile app and I did not look at the pricing carefully. The app gave a $5 promotion for one pizza and the rest was in full prize. I did not realize until I picked up the pizzas from the restaurant. I returned to the restaurant to ask them if they could do something. Unfortunately system did not allow them to do any store credit or return the money. The staff suggested to call the manager. But, surprisingly 10 minutes later one of the store staff called me and she took care of everything by talking to the manager herself on the phone. They revised the bill.

“Staff are very friendly and quick to fill orders! I ordered the toasted roast beef and cheddar last week and unfortunately didn’t get the crispy onions, seems small but was one of the things that made me change my order last minute! Lots of meat though, could’ve used some hot peppers for extra flavor. Small interior with not a lot of seating, but good for to go orders. Easy to locate and lots of parking!“

“The best cold subs in Richardson TX! I really dig the Italian sub. This place blow SubWay out of the water. I wonder how well it holds up against Firehouse across the street (I'm new to both chains, after being a SubWay fan for 7 years). Will be back for more and more!

“I love this place. It is half way between my home and my daughter's home. We share the large original. Excellent. I wish that you would stock the Mexican import drinks again.“

“I stopped at this location after my visit to the Drs because I was in the mood for a Philly Cheese steak and Jersey Mike's is the Only place I'll get them. Friendly staff and great food and it pays to sign up in the app because I had enough points to get a free Giant Philly that's normally $16ish clean inside as well as the bathroom.“

“I have eaten at other locations. This is my visit here. A friend's office is close to this location. He and his son have never eaten at Jersey Mike's. Someone from Jersey Mike's came to my friend's office today, and gave them free promotional coupons. I had the #17 Mike's Famous Philly with Rosemary Parmesan bread, and they had the #6 Roast Beef and Provolone with Rosemary Parmesan bread. They were delicious. We talked with several people who worked here. They answered all our questions. Everyone was knowledgeable, courteous, and professional.

“Your location sold me food laced with plastic strips. They were long hidden like onions. I am asking all my friends to boycott this trash hole. It has people tampering with food. I almost swallow that plastic!!“

The cashier/owner was not so friendly and was constantly pushing workers to move faster. I told her that this location was one of the fastest to serve the food, and she needed to be thankful she had fast employees.“

“Good sandwiches & side items. Came here for lunch early this week during work store visit nearby. It was busy with lunch crowd but the service was quick & friendly. The vibe was nice I’m restaurant, busy with everyone having a good time eating & catching up. First time at this location, was not sure what to order but the staff was quick to make recommendations when I asked for meaty & cheesy sandwich. I was so hungry I went ahead & added a cup of chili which definitely hit the spot along with drink & Cheetos. The staff at register actually recognized me from another job they used to work at, great friendly service & was nice to be remembered! Good lunch spot whether in a hurry or to sit down for a good warm meal, good quality & service with a smile. If you like sandwiches and variety this is a good place to come to. 😁“

“Came here for quick lunch before headed into work. Parking lot was pretty full, once inside it took several minutes while I was standing in front of register before I was greeted. Once they did the staff was friendly and quickly took my order & had my sandwich ready literally in 1 Minute, super fast! Unfortunately they did not ask me if meal was for here or to go so they did not offer me a bag to take meal to work. I ordered the Italian Night Club combo with Jalapeño Chips & Drink. The sandwich was ok but some of the meat felt like it was out in the open a little bit longer than usual. Tried their new Kickin' Ranch & was actually pretty good. Overall the vibe in restaurant was good & staff was nice, just a few minor adjustments in attention to detail can easily have them at 5 stars with the quickness & effectiveness they have at preparing food.“

“Went with the wife for lunch, of which I really don't get to do very often during the week. The girls were racing each other to build our sandwich. Both of our sandwiches were equal and fantastic by the way. I found it hilarious that they were racing each other. I know the first guy that went to Chicago to train, and came back to start the first potbelly in Dallas. I've never been disappointed with the sandwiches at all. Not from the very first shot they open in Dallas area to this week.“

“This Subway is not franchised and is independent. The owners are very friendly and very hard working. They were super happy and helpful when I was there and it's always nice to see that. Food tasted better than the usual subway and I would highly suggest giving this place a shot if you drive by this area.“

“Loved this location. It's very clean inside. The staff is quick and attentive when taking orders. It was busy but the line moved smoothly. Workers had on gloves and greeted customers coming in and when leaving. I called before arriving to ask about accepting coupons. The employee said they do. When arriving saw sign stating they take coupons but for specific subs only mainly the pork subs( ham, Italian, cold cut combo, pepperoni), and do not honor BOGO. Other locations visited you could order any sub with coupons as long as it wasn't any of the new featured subs. Guess it depends on locations, owner, etc...“
