We'd pick up frozen pulled pork in Tennessee and bring it back to Texas as a treat. Nothing to compare until our first visit to The Purple Pig in June. “Went there with some of our business associates for lunch. The service was great, the food was AMAZING. The restaurant was packed because it was lunch time, but we never felt like we were waiting on anything. Drinks were always full, food came out reasonably quick, and everyone was pleased. The chips and hot sauce were really good too!!! I’m not sure how they’re making their chips, but they tasted FRESH!! We will definitely be going back.“

That was my go to restaurant for my 92 year old Dad for 40 years. He ordered the Mexican plate and was delighted everything was delicious. “The food here is simply delightful. Typically, the sauces can be heavy and filling 8n themselves. Here, after trying practically everything on their menu, the sauces are light, vegetables are always firm and crunchy, and the meats are plentiful within the offerings.

I had the Shrimp in Garlic Sauce, which was delicious (it could have been a little more spicy for my tastes, but they provided chili sauce, which was fine), good sized shrimp, hot n sour soup and 2 egg rolls w/fried rice. Definitely required a to go box, all for 12.00. I was stuffed and a little shocked at the price.

“Haven't been here in years . Feel bad after getting such a great meal. We had general tsao chicken and sweet and sour pork and pork fried rice . We we ended up with 5 meals each because portions were so huge. Breading was great and they made the chicken extra hot in request. Definitely won't be so long until my next visit.“
