“Upon entering door, the aroma of classic Mexican fare just fills your nostrils. Barbacoa, Chorizo, Beans, Rice, Guiso, Lengua. Staples of a great Hispanic eatery in the morning hours. One thing besides the smell of the delicious food and fresh warm tortillas is the place is well lit. The lights are shining above the fresh food. They say we eat with eyes and here at Primo's it brings truth to that proverb. I highly recommend this place. Everything looks, smells and tastes as if your friend's Abuela had made it. If you just like Bean and Cheese to even Eggs & Papas, even the simplest burrito remains paragon! Check this place out!!!!!!! 5 out of 5 Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!“
“After Sunday School these last couple of weeks my Wife and I have been going to Casa Ocampo Mexican Restaurant & Bar with some of our Sunday School Classmates. We have not been here before but we have been to Los Panchitos, which is the same, but different location who recently changed their name from Los Panchitos to Casa Ocampo. (this one did, not the other location) The same eating area for the group is used every week, kind of in the back by itself and large enough to hold whoever shows up. Nicole is our Server and she provides the tables with lots of Chips and a Very Delicious Red Sauce with a bit of spiciness - nicely done. We all have our drinks and are enjoying those Chips and Sauce and now it's time to order. Our first time here my Wife and I arrived a little late and some of the people were already being served. We noticed some Very Large Chicken Tenders and some Beef/Chicken Fajitas that were enough for several people - and were thinking about those but decided to order the same thing from their Senior Menu, "Cheese Enchilada"; ($8.99) covered in a Cheese-Chili Gravy, served with Onions, Cole Slaw, Salad, Beans & Rice. We found out later that those Large Chicken Tenders were actually Chicken Strips from their Senior Menu - next time that's what we want and that's what my Wife ordered today - "Chicken Strips"; ($8.99) Crispy Battered Chicken Strips served with French Fries or Baked Potato (went with loaded Baked Potato), Cheesy Gravy, Salad & Toast. I am going with their "Chicken Fried Steak"; ($8.99) Smaller Portion of the Deliciously Breaded Chicken Fried Steak atop Cheesy-Gravy. Served with French Fries or Baked Potato and a Salad. Chose Loaded Baked Potato and Ranch for the Salad. I Love Chicken Fried Steak but my Doctor told me some time back that CFS is not really good for you but it's okay to enjoy 'once-a-year' - and I do take my Doctors advise seriously. Right now I am now up to the year 2462 - but don't tell my Doctor. Orders are placed and we are enjoying those Crispy Chips with that Spicy Red Sauce. Nicole keeps everyones basket filled with those Chips and brought out a Pitcher of their Red Sauce so everyone would have their 'refills' already in place - Nicely Done Nicole. On both times we have been here, Nicole has earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award and loved it. She provides the Best Customer Service one could ever expect and Casa Ocampo is pretty busy every Sunday at this time. Soon our food started arriving and everyones plate looks Scrumptiouslyscrumptious. My Wife's Chicken Strips are some really Large Plumped Chicken that are Perfectly Breaded with a nice crunch. (i ate one and it was really big & thick). She ate the other two and enjoyed the Fresh Salad and the Loaded Baked Potato was prepared Just-Right. Hers comes with Texas Toast but I had the honor of enjoying it and it was really good. My Chicken Fried Steak was also some pretty good stuff - love the breading and that Cheesy-Gravy was the right touch and I did not Feel Guilty about enjoying #2462 - just don't tell my Doctor. A Loaded Baked Potato is always a plus, as this one was, especially with a little of that Cheesy-Gravy. The Salad was Fresh and Tasty and the Ranch really good. Both of our meals were a great choice and next time we just might go for those Beef/Chicken Fajitas. The Aroma fills the air and really makes your mouth drool when served. Casa Ocampo Mexican Restaurant & Bar is a really nice place to enjoy some really good food. The Owner always goes around to all the tables and chats with everyone - it's a San Angelo thing - it's what they all do here. Check'em out on Facebook and On-Line'. It was a fun and entertaining Lunch with our Friends from our Sunday School Class - lots of stories told and fun times shared - and I'm taking notes. Thank You All for a most Wonderful time - and Thank You Baby for all that you do and you do a lot. Love You Bunches & MexicanMunches.“
“If you haven’t been out there since the remodel, you have got to check it out. Really nice bar, great service, and the food is amazing! If you’re downtown, you definitely need to stop in and try it.This time I got the Fuentes Special, which is like a steak Ranchero with all the right stuff. Check it out!“
“Wow. I got the chicken fried steak and my husband got the three meat parrillada. The CFS was a 4 stars. It was HUGE!! The pictures do not do it justice, it was incredible. It was just missing some salt, which I would rather it need salt than be too salty. The bed of fries was soooo good. They were perfectly battered and crispy. The real star of the show was the parrillada. It was so full of flavor all we could keep saying is “wow” with each bite. This is by far the best flavored fajitas i’ve had in a restaurant. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. Sometimes restaurants over cook them resulting in them being chewy. Or, the tail rips the meat having some get stuck in the shell. But these shrimp were perfect, every single one of them. We came here on thinking it was a different restaurant, but this was a happy little accident. Will return. Wow.“
“The most amazing food, the most amazing staff, if you’re in town or live in town this is a gem don’t pass it up doesn’t look like it would be a five star restaurant, but it really is.Parking: They are remodeling for a drive-through area and new pavement outfront so it’s a little rough at the moment, but it’s gonna be greatKid-friendliness: Always doing something fun for the kids whether it’s coloring contest or giving out suckers. Even the kids get a cookie with their food.“
“We have really enjoyed Taco Tuesday. We have visited San Angelo for a month now and have really loved going to Taco Tuesday. If you are close by you should go enjoy it. The Special is 2 tacos and a side for $6.50. Can't beat that. The food is awesome.“
“I got the Guiso Burrito plate with both Spanish sauce and queso and it was delicious! Dad got caldo- it was okay, but only because they usually only serve it on sat/Sunday and it was a weekday. No big deal, he still enjoyed it but the meat was clearly not a Saturday/Sunday quality.“
“First off I would like to say that I love that this place doesn’t over salt their food. My partner had the taquitos carne asada tacos. She was very pleased with her meal and even said the beans were her favorite because it had chunks of bacon. She then said we’d be back. I on the other hand got the carne asada plate. I just added a bit of salt to my taste and I also had quite a pleasant meal. I ate mine with flour tortillas and used the two sauces they give you when you come in. Spicy goodness. I def recommend this place. They have many affordable items to choose from. I have to come and try there breakfast sometime ?Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly.“
“This place is a complete vibe. It is rich with culture, authentic music, and really good food. It's not big in size, it's a cozy experience that packs a mighty punch when it comes to food and drinks. The service was top notch and timely. The chips and salsa flow freely. Something a little different from other restaurants is that the salsa is served really warm. I had the cheese enchiladas and the gravy on them was EVERYTHING. I ordered one beef enchilada,as a add on. I have to admit that it didn't quite stand up to the cheese ones. All in all, It is definitely a place you should give a try!“
