“We chose Ling Kitchen to celebrate a birthday. It was a dining experience that we will not forget. The staff were easy to communicate with and facilitate a food allergy, prior to arrival. Once you arrive, they will let you into a gated parking lot in the back. You will be greeted by the staff and shown to the front of the building where you will be received with champagne and tea. The dining room is one large family table directly in the kitchen.

The hosts will guide you through an exquisite 9 course tasting menu. The first 5 courses had a heavy seafood focus. Of these courses, the highlights were the seafood spread on top of a fried taro and the dumplings which had a delicious chicken filing accompanied by seafood. Moving on to the meat courses. The got better and better. The Peking Duck 2 ways that you turned into a bao slider was very good. The beef was cooked to perfection. It had a slightly sweet sauce, with a Thai basil pesto, and jellied fish and fried potato for texture. The main dishes concluded with our favorite of the night. It was a pork belly recipe that had been passed down through the family. The sauce was savory, salty, and sweet. The dish was accompanied by fried garlic and onions and a delicious black garlic leaf. The gold sheet on top was an added touch of elegance. The 5 small desserts that finished the meal were good, but nothing we would seek out again. This truly is one of the best dining experiences in Austin.“

“Great neighborhood Chinese spot! We picked up take out and was greeted by their friendly staff who offered me water while I waited. The portions were huge and the food was served really hot so by the time we got home and started eating it was a perfect temperature. Both my husband, daughter, and I had some and had leftovers for the next day. We would definitely go again and would also go in person for a meal.“

“I've been there twice already! It's soo good! I would recommend getting the chili oil wontons, green beans, and black and pepper udon. There are different spice levels (they don't say this) but I think default is wayyyy to spicy.
The first time I ordered the black and pepper udon, the flavor was sooo good BUT it was too spicy to enjoy 😭 second time I got it mild, and it was perfect... So good!!“

“Stopped by Bento Teppanyaki for a casual dinner and left pretty satisfied. The food came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor—no frills, just solid teppanyaki goodness.

The chicken wings? So good. Easily the surprise favorite of the meal!

The bento plates were generous and tasty—meat was cooked well, the veggies had a great sear, and the fried rice brought it all together without being overly greasy.

“The stuff is delicious. I got the General Tso chicken with fried rice and egg drop soup. The sauce is a beautifully thick and full of flavour and the pieces of chicken are equally thick. It is exactly what I wanted. Many other places the egg drop soup disappoints because it doesn’t have enough salt or flavour but this guy takes the cake.

“I haven’t been back to Shu Shu’s this decade. It was 10 mins south from the house and 10 mins north from the office and we ate here all the time. I saw them, again, going to Primitives just like the first time!

It is still simple fresh Chinese food. Fast fresh. The staff is so friendly. They bring out courses instead of piling your table full at one time. The portions are generous enough for take home, everytime. Try the Dragon noodles 🔥! My tongue detected zero change in quality which is almost impossible to say in 2024 Austin.

I’ll be going North for lunch soon. They’ve run a lunch special until 2 pm forever. You could avoid all the loud nooners and eat in peace.“

“Loved the Shanghai rice cakes, fish with preserved mustard greens, spicy fish, Szechuan numbing chicken, green beans, mapo tofu, & cauliflower dry pot. Not greasy and felt lighter like home cooking - I really liked every dish! They were also very accommodating for our large group and brought small plates for the birthday cake. I’ve always passed by this location anytime I’ve gone to Central Market, but I think might have to be one of my new favorites places to eat at especially if I’m going to go do some shopping

“When in Westlake, and looking for delicious Chinese this would be the spot. From the moment you enter everyone is smiling, music is playing, and it’s definitely upbeat! “This place has become our go-to for great Chinese food at a great price! It's super quick, the restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and they have fast delivery too. Not only do they have a ton of Chinese food dishes, they have a few really good Vietnamese options on the menu too. You can't beat their Wok on Fire Special menu: which is basically the price of the dish at any other place but also comes with an egg roll, cup of soup, and 2 chicken wings. Great Chinese food and best value around for sure.“

“What a great place for a tasty lunch and Abigail took great care of us! We dropped by and I ordered a lunch special lemon chicken. The egg drop soup had nice flavor with a hint of spice that I loved. The egg rolls were also yummy. The lemon chicken is remarkable because the lemon sauce seems to be made with real lemon peel and you can taste the difference. We're locals and will return here soon..definitely recommend this place!“
