“I was impressed. Every dish we ordered was unique and bursting with flavor. The wait staff was amazing and service was fantastic. The details of each dish made this restaurant stand out. I have not been to a restaurant in a long time where I truly felt it was a unique culinary experience and you can really feel how much love the chef is pouring into each entree. Worth every penny.

Be aware that this is modern Asian food integrated with Austin flavors. If you want something traditional, this might not be for you. But, take it from me, you should give it a try with an open mind. Best food in Austin. I never leave reviews, but felt compelled to write this since it was so so so good.“

“Fall 2024 - Their new location is smaller inside than the Anderson Lane location, but the decor is more contemporary. This location, however, offers outside dining. There is a smaller parking area, but manageable.

The quality of the food (delicious and hot) and customer service are STILL EXCELLENT.

“New ish dumpling spot with fresh handmade dumplings and noodles. They’re originally from Sugar Land, TX, near Houston. So hard to pick favorites since I genuinely enjoyed everything we tried! The soup dumplings have great texture, thin skin, and a generous amount of broth. The noodles are very well done, with a bouncy bite. The pork soup buns had a fair amount of broth as well, the skin is thinner than the bao-type skin you sometimes get with sheng jian bao. I liked the spicy and sour dumplings, thumb buns, and potstickers too! I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of these menu items. Definitely a winning addition to the dumpling scene in Austin.“

“We chose Ling Kitchen to celebrate a birthday. It was a dining experience that we will not forget. The staff were easy to communicate with and facilitate a food allergy, prior to arrival. Once you arrive, they will let you into a gated parking lot in the back. You will be greeted by the staff and shown to the front of the building where you will be received with champagne and tea. The dining room is one large family table directly in the kitchen.

The hosts will guide you through an exquisite 9 course tasting menu. The first 5 courses had a heavy seafood focus. Of these courses, the highlights were the seafood spread on top of a fried taro and the dumplings which had a delicious chicken filing accompanied by seafood. Moving on to the meat courses. The got better and better. The Peking Duck 2 ways that you turned into a bao slider was very good. The beef was cooked to perfection. It had a slightly sweet sauce, with a Thai basil pesto, and jellied fish and fried potato for texture. The main dishes concluded with our favorite of the night. It was a pork belly recipe that had been passed down through the family. The sauce was savory, salty, and sweet. The dish was accompanied by fried garlic and onions and a delicious black garlic leaf. The gold sheet on top was an added touch of elegance. The 5 small desserts that finished the meal were good, but nothing we would seek out again. This truly is one of the best dining experiences in Austin.“

The food is great, I loved the lomein combo, the fried rice combo and the General Tso's Chicken. The service is unmatched, Gilberto is the best, he is very attentive to his clients. “The food experience at Seven Spice was AMAZING to say the least!

ORDER: small wonton soup, egg rolls, spicy orange chicken, spicy beef and broccoli, and fried rice... all of which was delicious and fresh.

The wonton soup ingredients were all fresh.(you can tell by the brightness of the veggies and how delicious it tasted) and was a great way to start my experience... I ordered a small but it was a pretty big bowl which set the tone for the rest of the food which all came in large portions and all freshly made.

The chicken and beef were super tender and tasted perfect.... the egg rolls and fried rice were cherries on top and a tasty compliment to the entire meal!

There's not many places where the food is made to order and comes out fairly quick but Seven Spice serves it up fresh, hot, and quick without sacrificing one for the other. After 10 years in Austin, I can't believe I haven't been to this place before but it's officially my favorite Chinese food spot.

“Just tried Song La for the first time today. Shirley was so incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic. I spent 3 months in Taiwan before moving to Austin and was craving some Taiwanese fried chicken and this hit the spot. Plus, everything is made to order and comes out super fresh (that said, don't come in a rush, make sure you've got a little time to enjoy their new spot at The Thicket and hang for a bit). Whether you've had Taiwanese food before and are craving it or just want to try some incredible fried chicken in a cool South Austin spot, definitely give them a try. ❤“

“I haven’t been back to Shu Shu’s this decade. It was 10 mins south from the house and 10 mins north from the office and we ate here all the time. I saw them, again, going to Primitives just like the first time!

It is still simple fresh Chinese food. Fast fresh. The staff is so friendly. They bring out courses instead of piling your table full at one time. The portions are generous enough for take home, everytime. Try the Dragon noodles 🔥! My tongue detected zero change in quality which is almost impossible to say in 2024 Austin.

I’ll be going North for lunch soon. They’ve run a lunch special until 2 pm forever. You could avoid all the loud nooners and eat in peace.“

“I kept hearing about this new restaurant takeover, Yellow Ranger, so had to try it. The server did a great job explaining the menu. The bartender, not so much. We ordered the crab rangoons for an appetizer then the Taiwanese Fried Chicken and the egg fried rice. The fried chicken was great! I’d order that again. The fried rice was so so.“

Overall a great experience, you'll know if you like the place after one visit. “This place has become our go-to for great Chinese food at a great price! It's super quick, the restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and they have fast delivery too. Not only do they have a ton of Chinese food dishes, they have a few really good Vietnamese options on the menu too. You can't beat their Wok on Fire Special menu: which is basically the price of the dish at any other place but also comes with an egg roll, cup of soup, and 2 chicken wings. Great Chinese food and best value around for sure.“

“What a great place for a tasty lunch and Abigail took great care of us! We dropped by and I ordered a lunch special lemon chicken. The egg drop soup had nice flavor with a hint of spice that I loved. The egg rolls were also yummy. The lemon chicken is remarkable because the lemon sauce seems to be made with real lemon peel and you can taste the difference. We're locals and will return here soon..definitely recommend this place!“

“This is the best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. I don’t care what the negative reviews say, I have lived in the apartments behind sesame hill for 5 months now, I have ordered takeout from them every other week since we moved in, and I have never had a bad experience. The couple who owns this restaurant are kind, caring, and thoughtful. I try to get something new often, it’s all amazing. The Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, chicken lo mein, fried rice, EGG DROP SOUP AND CRAB PUFFS!!!!! Tonight I was extra impressed by the cardboard in the to go bag underneath the soup and sauce cups. To give the to go bag stability. It’s the little things, we love you sesame hill, thank you for feeding us ❤️“
