“I've heard good things about this "gas station" restaurant for years. My husband and I finally decided we had to try it. I'm so glad we did. The hostess was so nice and friendly as was the rest of the staff. We ordered the chicken scallopini. It was absolutely delicious, I highly recommend it. The portion was large and the chicken was tender and so very tasty. The atmosphere is quaint and just very nice. There is a lovely patio area in the back where you can eat. If you are considering going, just go! You'll have a really good meal.“

“We recently stopped in for a late lunch at Cotton Patch Café in Watauga. Service was fast and friendly. The chicken fried steak and sides were the best I’ve had anywhere in quite some time! Definitely worth going back to Watagua for another visit . Our servers, Matt and Brandon, made it a thoroughly pleasant experience. They recommended the large size meal, and we enjoyed the leftovers tonight… almost as much as being there.“
“It's a bare bones beer and taco bar. Nothing fancy right on 7th St. It's fun for what it is. The food is good. They serve Margaritas in a plastic cup from a machine I believe ( skipped that observation somehow). The margaritas are icy and frozen and strong. Delicious on a 108⁰ day but not cuisine material otherwise. A single can of beer is $6.50! I should have brought my cooler. They have a classic red velvet cake with caramel sauce that should come with an insulin shot but people- this is a cake worth trying and it's enough for 2!All in all I didn't get to really explore their menu like usual. I went there as a meet up for after party beers. This place is not budget- friendly but you'll enjoy the no fuss atmosphere. The patio is fun EXCEPT it's right on 7th and there will be kids racing cars and bikes, honking, crossing light blinking noises and pedestrians- some are sketchy. Police had to remove a poor soul that but the manager wasn't rude to him and that was a good thing.You gotta go here at least once to experience what going to an easy going, no Frills, gathering place can be. You can walk to other local places too that are right next door. Christian based program who trains tuition free culinary arts students. You pay by donating any amount you want and it feeds all people of all socioeconomic classes. Kind staff & all the employees from hostess, table clearers, dishwashers, & wait staff volunteer. This was a special experience. I had curry carrot soup, pan seared salmon with artichokes & asparagus with caramelized carrot cake. The restaurant also helps with prayer & if you have an emergency circumstance they have programs that may be able to help. The got different size tables for different size groups. Booths, small square to big round table to fit up to 8 people. The waitress staff are friendly. “I have wanted to eat at this restaurant since learning of it from an Anthony Bourdain show (think it was “No reservations”- but can’t find the episode).It was low key- and my visit was more about sharing an experience with family and homage to an admirable fellow human.The three stars are not a negative reflection of this experience for atmosphere- but a homage to Bourdain - on how he might paint a picture of a low key establishment featuring a dark and western themed corner of the west- sprinkled with a savory dust.The rabbit /rattlesnake sliders - are a “must taste” experience.My oldest son had the elk sliders (appetizers), and finally learned that chewing thoroughly (instead of wolfing) was much more enjoyable (despite taking three orders to fill him).My steak was perfect. No steak has ever been better than my own, but the prime rib being seared was definitely my preference on how the dish was served - and the seasoning used- was unique in that it brought forth and accommodated the essence of the beef.Whether a fan of Bourdain or not- everyone should have a LD experience - and accommodates any other activities might explore at the stockyards.“

“Moxies sets the bar high for neighboring restaurants and is a great example of what what makes dining in special- great food, mood setting atmosphere and service that is attentive/friendly/cares/presents well. I love that the staff are all very professionally dressed (there is definitely a specific attire aesthetic which I think is achieved tastefully). Moxies has a pretty large space and turn tables quickly even when busy, which is often. I've walked in and been told the wait is 30 minutes and get seated a lot sooner. Worth the wait either way. Their menu isn't too robust which is nice because you end up finding your favorites. Two things that I love and crave often - the sushi cones and the seared ahi ginger salad. Both are a textural experience full of punchy and delicious Asian flavors. Just yum!“

The service was friendly, prompt, and efficient and the food was delicious! In today's environment, I consider the prices reasonable as well. Parking is readily available and is only about 4 minutes away from the Southlake center shops. Definitely recommend if looking for a casually comfortable, cheery breakfast or lunch.“

“They did a magnificent job transforming this location from the "Snooty Pig". It is decorated like a 4-star plus restaurant you'd see in a nice area in a big city. We were there at dinner time on a Friday night. It was very slow, surprisingly. If it was in a different location, the bar would be full of people! We had a family of 5 eat two appetizers, the spinach-artichoke dip and the clams. They were both amazing. I used all the bread and ordered more just to soak up the juices and sauce. We thought they were just a bit overpriced by about $2-$3 each. We ordered the Ribeye, the Sirloin, and the Seafood Pasta. It was all very good. My only issue was pricing. The location and average pricing compared to other restaurants of the same caliber makes me believe they are slightly higher priced by $4-$6 per main dish. My daughter got the chicken strips. They were so huge and of great quality. The sweet tea was refreshing. However, it had a weird after taste. The wait staff were good, especially when we had to send the sirloin back because it wasn't medium. It came out very "blue". They recooked it perfectly. We will definitely be back when we have a little higher budget and want good food!“

“Mark was a wonderful bartender. He was our first bartender there and he was fantastic. However, we went a third time (3/22/24) and there was a woman. I unfortunately did not get her name. She served me and told me that I was being too loud. I apologized saying that I am from a loud family. I’m sensitive and cried out of embarrassment. Whenever my friend arrived and asked me how I was. I’m told them that I was told I was too loud. The bartender then came back and accused me too of acting like I was 12 and Making her a villain. I assured her that I never spoke a bad word about her just repeated that she told me I was too loud. I was embarrassed. I didn’t feel welcome and we attempted to pay but she said to not worry about the drink.I don’t understand what happened or why she was mad that I told my friend what she told me . I no longer feel welcome at my favorite whiskey bar. My fiends tried talking to her to understand the friction and called her out on her rudeness simply by asking her why she was taking digs at me. They didn’t appreciate the situation.She didn’t have to keep insulting me/putting me down. I just needed a moment to process my embarrassment I already apologized for.“
