“I’ve traveled all over Texas tasting BBQ, it’s my hobby! I highly recommend Boxcar BBQ in Longview on Gilmer road. My wife and I each had three meat plates, mine was. Brisket, Ribs, and Boudin, with Mac and cheese and potato salad, the wife had the same meats with coleslaw and the baked potato salad. The ribs were outstanding, we both agreed on that, the brisket was good, although with just a hint of salt added the flavor exploded, the boudin was good and not too spicy from my wife’s viewpoint. All the sides were very good which was a little surprising because a lot of BBQ joints are lacking in that category. Good environment in the restaurant and a steady flow of customers confirmed our opinion that this was a great choice for lunch. We’ll be back!“

They seem to work more so as a team to make sure everyone in the restaurant is happy, promptly making the rounds asking about refills or checking on tables. It makes for an above average experience. It was all served warm and quickly. The fries could have used some salt and a lesser fry time to avoid the semi-burnt taste. I'm a fry fanatic so fries are important to me, not so for everyone else. “I just moved here from California and Cheddar's was the first restaurant I went to. This place has a beautiful atmosphere and a wonderful staff that is very intentive to the guests. Our waiter Angle, was a sweetheart and was very professional. The food was really good and the price for an appetizer, two entrees, and two seasonal margaritas came out to $45! In California the bill would be easily over $60 or $70 with bad service. I would definitely come back here and bring the whole family. Thank you Cheddar's staff for making my experience memorable!“

“We really enjoy Chili’s in Kilgore. Food was good. Service was good. Server was great - but it was crowded.
An added attraction is that it is the home and roosting place of the Kilgore Rooster. If you go for dinner you can see him get ready for bed. So cute!“

“Today I took my kiddos to Rotolo’s Pizzeria for lunch, and we had a great experience. The kids went with a classic cheese pizza, which was exactly what they wanted and thoroughly enjoyed. I decided to make a healthier choice and ordered a cauliflower crust pizza with chicken Alfredo, and it was absolutely delicious.

Our waiter (I wish I had gotten his name) was very friendly and provided excellent service throughout our visit. The atmosphere was nice and quiet during the time we were there, making for a relaxing lunch.

Overall, Rotolo’s delivered great food, great service, and a pleasant dining experience. Only negative part of the visit was the water, it had a bad taste of iron. We’ll definitely be back!“
