First, attended quickly, and when got to the window, the person at the window was great, friendly, even smiling which would be hard for me for a whole shift unless it was purposeful, and the way they want to be. Very cool and that reflects well upon the hiring! Thanks for making lunch great! Also, the ice in my cup was not too much. You know how some places must train their people to fill the whole cup with ice and then fill the empty space with soda? They must not be told to do that here, because it was a reasonable amount. Not too little, and not too much (I hate it when restaurants cheap out on the soda and in those cases I remember!)“

Always good food, warm pleasant people and just a comfortable place to be. We found that at El Gallo Giro. No corporate rubber chicken sandwiches here. Drop by for a fine meal and a touch of Mexico. “Sooooo Goood! We had Fajitas de pollo & my husband had Chile 🌶 Colorado. On the hot side he started to sweat 😂 but he loved it! Appetizers chips, salsa, beans. (Included with meal) and Butter Cake for dessert. And a strawberry lemonade it was delish! All was so delicious! I was so impressed with the corn tortillas! Freshly made and so soft. I even had to double check with the server that there wasn’t any flour added to them. They were so close to flour. So GF peeps you will love these. The chicken was very tender as well. And plenty of peppers and onions to go with! Sorry forgot to take a pic of the cake before we dove in! 😂“

Premium local meats and chicken and wonderful fish (offerings change). Flavor combos are excellent. Noisy. We try to eat there after the lunch crowd leaves. Closed from 3 to 5.“

“I have eaten at numerous Rancheritos but this one is our favorite, hands down. Edgar, at the front counter, will always greet you with a smile and recommendations. The food is super fresh, the refried beans are the best anywhere, and prices are very reasonable. We moved here from So Cal and are super picky about fast casual Mexican places…. Until this, We hadn’t found one in Utah we really liked and we’ve been here 8 years. This ranks up there with our favorite spots in So Cal.
I recommend anything with their Al Pastor…. It is the best. I particularly like the Al
pastor bowl and get a side of corn tortillas to make mini tacos with. My wife and her sister like their beef tacos and bean and cheese burritos. Get a side of their refried beans to
take home….. nothing beats them.
We eat here at least once a week if not more. The best!!“

“Portions are big and they let us substitute the rice for a salad. Restrooms were clean and the restaurant was well decorated. Plenty of parking even if we did have to walk a little.

We took home leftovers. Highly recommended.“

“First time visiting and I will definitely be coming back! My husband came by Don Joaquin's a few days ago and couldn't stop raving about it so I decided to join him there for lunch today.... let me tell you that I am so glad that I did! The restaurant is spacious, clean and they have some freezers with Popsicles, paletas and ice cream bars and fried doraditos by the ordering station. Menu is simple but sometimes that all you need right? I got the gringa combo, which has 3 tacos (al pastor, chicken and asada) with a drink and my husband got an asada burrito with a side of rice. I also got a slice of strawberry tres leches cake which was stellar! Every single bite was lovely; everything was flavored so well and was fresh! Definitely recommend if you are in the area - you won't be disappointed!“

“Dined here many times. The food is incredibly consistent. The flour tortillas are always hot and fresh. My one negative is that every steak dish I’ve ever gotten has always been dry due to the thin cuts. Other than that, I feel as their dishes are well balanced. Prices are fair. This place is worth giving a try! (Would give a 4.5 if I could)“

“When we first came to Utah in Aug 2020 we asked around and most people said there were not many good Mexican restaurants on SLC. Being from Southern California we know good Mexican food given the large Latino population. When we got a recommendation for El Gallo Loco, in Sandy of all places, we were skeptical but decided to go check it out. The words AMAZING do not even describe it. Alberto is super nice, friendly, and really helped us to pick dishes we thoroughly enjoyed. He is super humble about the place, and really took the time to find out what types of food and flavors we liked, and made recommendations which did not disappoint on any level. Their Tortilla soup is hands down the BEST we have ever had, and we’ve had a lot. Their chicken - WOW. Marinated and tender in any dish - tacos, burritos, fajitas - even just the chicken. They have 3 authentic salsas - the green sauce on burritos is so good we thought about it all week !! Chips are perfect - not greasy at all. Good range of drinks, beer, wine , margaritas and even horchata - if that’s not authentic I don’t know what is. This is one of our GO TO places for sure.“

I have to say the staff are awesome, very friendly and helpful (unlike some other places I have been recently) We ordered a Shredded Chicken Chimichanga, a California Burrito, a Habanero Burrito, and a side of rice. The food was served very promptly, hot and well presented, and we all agreed that it was absolutely delicious. Both of the Burritos and the Chimichanga were packed full of meat and flavor, Not like a lot of these places that pack them full of beans, and a few chewy bits of tasteless meat. They even put a bag of Cinnamon chips in with our order, which was a very nice touch.
