“I’m always one to recommend Nelson’s but just went there tonight and had a very negative experience... Me and my mom were up for a treat and we decided to go to Neilsen, knowing they close at 10pm we hurried over and got into the drive through at 9:57 we were second in line. Just a few minutes later we pulled up to the window just as the clock stuck 10 and the young lady at the window said “what can I get for you?” and we said “do you have chocolate” she said “yes” we proceeded and asked for a chocolate cone and a vanilla concrete. The young lady them said “All we have is frozen quarts and pints, sorry were closed” (despite having asked us what we wanted, oh and the OPEN sign was still on) we were a bit confused because we’ve been waiting since before they closed. I tried to explain that we were waiting in line before you closed. Let’s just say they could care less that I didn’t get my frozen custard. All in all not very happy about what happed hope this situation can get fixed by simply blocking the drive through and take care of the existing costumers ect.“

The ambiance of this drive-thru/outdoor seating fast casual joint is a blast to the past: it looks and feels the same way as it did when my parents went in the 80’s and my grandparents in the 60’s. That’s right — this place has been around for nearly 65 years, and if that’s not a testament to its cultural and culinary impact on Salt Lake, then I’m not sure what is.“

“My friends and I went here because I remembered going here when I was a kid like 12 years ago. The owners are the nicest owners I’ve ever ran into or honestly had the pleasure of meeting. The atmosphere of this yogurt shop is warm and inviting. Although there are limited flavors, it is hands down the best quality of frozen yogurt I’ve had. Apparently they also have curry! I’m very excited to go back.“

“Tried this great little gem today in the shopping plaza on 47th south between the 215 on/off ramps and 27th west. Staff was super friendly and quick and the treats were delicious! I had a specialty flavor (rainbow) while my son went with a custom creation and both were garnished with a cute tropical umbrella. Loved the vibe in the store and that its a woman owned local small business. Check them out! You won't regret it :)“

Anywhere else I would expect am extra charge and mediocre service, this place was notably peasant but not over the top.“

“Wonderful sweet shop!

The shop is like the ones you will find if you went to Mazatlan, Cancun, or Puerto Villarta. I've traveled or sailed a few times to these destinations and going to Antojitos is like taking a mini vacation.

“I live in Colorado and never heard of Alpha Coffee. I visited Salt Lake City, and friend recommended we meet at the downtown location. I ordered an "Aztec" and it was great. Something different, new and tasty for me. I liked the drink, the vibe and the servers ... the whole experience was great! I look forward to my next visit to SLC. I'll stop at Alpha again - to try the Poly! :)“

After the owner took the time to respond so courteously to my review, I decided to give them another chance. Keera and Indigo assisted me and truly took the time to listen to my previous experience. They went above and beyond to make things right, and I genuinely appreciate their empathy and dedication to great customer service. I also tried the mango sticky rice that’s been trending on TikTok—and it did not disappoint! Thanks to how well these ladies treated me, I’ll definitely be coming back again.

I visited this place based on a recommendation that they had great drinks and was looking forward to a good experience—but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations.

When I walked in, I asked for a recommendation, and the girl who helped me was friendly and suggested the “Milky Way,” describing it as similar to a root beer float with soft serve ice cream. However, when I received the drink, it didn’t include any soft serve.

I went back to clarify, and another girl with green hair told me that the first employee didn’t say it came with soft serve, only that it could be added. I ended up paying extra to have it added, hoping that would improve the drink.

Unfortunately, it still didn’t taste good. After just a few sips, I politely asked if I could swap it for something else. The response I received was dismissive—the girl told me, “You drank half of it and didn’t have a problem with it before,” which wasn’t true. I hadn’t even finished a third of it and was only trying to see if the added soft serve would help the flavor.

As a first-time customer, I was really disappointed by both the miscommunication and the customer service. I had high hopes based on the recommendation, but sadly, I won’t be returning.“

Wheelchair accessibility: I'm always on crutches (I have not had to use my electric chair) and they always bring my cookies to the car for me. All the stores I have visited have plenty of room to accommodate my chair if needed.“

“So I want to start off by saying flavor and taste is subjective. Was this my favorite ice cream, no. Why would I come on here and give it five stars then. The service was FIVE STARS!! If I could give the service TEN STARS I would!! I ordered two soft serve scoops for my children and I was going to split a pint with my oldest and I. We tried the mint chocolate brownie and we didn't like it. I love mint ice cream and I love mint brownie, but it tasted like spearmint gum to us. They use real mint. Many people may love this, sadly it wasn't for us. The sweet young lady that works here is sooo kind and generous. She let us choose another pint. Sadly, we also did not like this flavor. I told her I am so sorry I don't expect you to give us a third one, and asked if one of them would like to take it home since we didn't like it. I didn't want it to go to waste. She not only took it off our bill but gave us each a scoop of the soft ice cream for free. THAT IS SERVICE!! NO where does this NOW-A-DAYS! She was sooo kind, and soooo generous. I think she is the one in charge, so I hope this review doesn't get her in trouble. If she is not the boss, please know that she made this customer VERY happy. She should be rewarded for her kindness and not get in trouble. She understands customer service better than almost anyone I have ever met!! She was so kind and polite about me not liking the ice cream and didn't make me feel bad. THANK YOU! You made this momma happy!!“

“You won't find the kindness and courtesy they practice here anywhere else. I have to talk about the product that they make themselves, it is delicious, factory ice creams and popsicles can be found anywhere, but here you will find authentic flavors and textures like those of Mexico, the fresh waters are really delicious because they are made with fruits and not dust like everywhere else. They sell other delicious snacks and drinks that they prepare on the spot like Tejuino, nowhere else in Utah do they have this flavor. Personally, I like to pay for quality, and their products are worth it.“

“Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options come to mind, though I can't recall if they were clearly labeled. The staff was amazing and I'm sure they would be helpful in pointing out options.

Dietary restrictions: I'm allergic to lavender and the staff was very vigilant in checking their tea for lavender to make sure it was safe for me to drink. I really appreciate that!

Parking: The building is a little hidden but there is plenty of parking.

Wheelchair accessibility: The building is not wheelchair accessible. If you have some mobility there are three stairs to get into the building and they have main floor seating but there is a big staircase to the second floor. So I would call to see which rooms are the most accessible.“
