“Excellent service. They made our valentines day. We took a chance and dropped in hoping for a seat at the bar which initially looked like it wouldn't happen. Timing and a great manager and hostess made it happen. Takoyaki and dumplings were superb. We loved the lychee martinis. The speakeasy vibe downstairs is quaint and welcoming. “Been hooked to this resto since 2022. Been all over the US, from California, Texas, Colorado, Georgia etcc… and this is far the most fresh, and best tasting sushi we have ever gone. We always order the redbull roll and never gone wrong! We also order toro ( fatty tuna) sashimi because it just melt on the tongue like butter. It’s so fresh! The marbling on their Toro is majestic! I tried to look and eat for the same roll from other resto, and no one has beat kumo. The staff are always polite, kind, and energetic. If you’re ever in DMV, this is a must place to eat!“

And don’t skip on the appetizers - gyoza, shumai and hamachi Kama are so so good. However, the service is always a little slow and the vibe/decor is just kinda eh and just a little…cold? Not very warm/welcoming. I stick to takeout usually and again, the sushi is top notch.“

“This is one of the best Japanese steakhouses I have ever been to. I have been to a handful but this place has always been my home. I have been coming to this place since I was a child and before the new owners. It has yet to disappoint me with anything. Atmosphere is always great and the food is even better. I miss Kawasaki because he would do the craziest things like throw an onion from across the room for a free meal (which I caught) some of the best memories of mine have come from here. I 100% suggest if you haven’t had hibachi before.

“This is our jam. Let me tell you why: 1. they make custom orders a. I like a salmon roll that I hand write out and they make perfectly for me b. my son eats a certain noodle dish that they custom make for him.
2. the pieces of fish are thick and large and delish and this never fails. (some places lace their sushi in lemon to mask the nastiness, but this is just high quality all the time).
3. Customer service is impecable. They are kind to my kiddo. We are teaching him to order and pay the bill on his own to gain that confidence and they are patient and extra kind to him.
4. It sorta feels like a home away from home.
5. The price is super affordable.
