“We were worried getting out of a late meeting and we didn’t think we would be able to find a really good meal with it being after 9pm. We were wrong! We followed our GPS to this restaurant and the place was so welcoming. They let us sample before we decided on our meals and everything we tried was delicious and most importantly FRESH! To get a meal THIS good at this time of night blew us away! We will be coming back and will be using their catering option as well for a summer birthday party! Please try and return for another ! Visit the Annnandale location! And once you’re done with the delicious dinner, please save room for the crepes they have here!“

“I hadn’t had food from here in years, since my dad used to bring home ras malai from here (which was a fav of mine). When in the area recently, I stopped in for lunch, not knowing that they actually offered a buffet!! The chick pea flour used in the pakora was flavored perfectly, though I wish it had a tad more spice to it. The other items I tried were great! Plus they made me a roti to eat it with.\n\nAll the food and service were just what I needed to scratch the itch I’ve had for this food for some time now. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re seeking authentic Pakistani food!“

I stopped by randomly after driving by and seeing bright lights in an empty parking lot at 8/9PM on a Wednesday night. Only thing I didn't like -- absolutely BLARING loud music (drake) that I could barely hear the guy taking the order and he could barely hear me either. It was obstructive. “We had never tried Afghani food before, and I am so glad we did. The staff was so friendly and helpful with any questions we had. They recommended the Mini Taste of Arocostia for our first time. Everything was FANTASTIC!!! The food was cooked perfectly. The service was great! We never had to ask to have our beverages filled up, because they were already on top of it before we had to ask. “My son and I stopped in while we were Christmas shopping and found the food EXCELLENT! My son ordered a combination of lamb and beef swcharma burrito, with Jalapeno hummus, onion, corn. lettuce, and mango salsa. The buritto was large enough for my son and I to share and the french fries were perfect.
The fries were hot with the perfect amount of salt and the Schwarma sauce was perfect for both the burrito and dipping the fries in. We will definately return if not to the Springfield Mall location (where we ate) we'll go to the location in Potomac Mills Mall. Again EXCELLANT and at a reasonble price.“

“These are my Afghans so I don’t wanna ruin their reputation. But just giving my personal review. I have been to this restaurant 3-4 times now. Previous visits was good so kept coming. But my most recent visit they got one of the orders wrong so they had to send it back. Took too long. We almost cancel that one because everyone else was almost finished with their food and the food didn’t come almost 30-40 minutes. Also, this time I found a little bit of hair and I just wanted to inform them about it and they didn’t seem to apologize or offer a new plate or anything. They just said all of our people wear head coverings when I brought up that I found hair. From then on out, I lost my appetite. I usually order the ice cream as well, but my appetite was ruined.“

“This was my first experience with this type of food, and it was good! Very filling, the single protein platter was more than I could eat in one sitting, and I'm a rather large eater. I would go back. However, I would say The Halal Guys are comparable to the Little Ceasars or Domino's of their place in the industry. If you want to play it safe with a commercialized version of Halal food, then this is it. Please don't take that as a negative, Little Ceasars has its place in the market & it's time for when necessary, and so does The Halal Guys.“

“I came to Arlington for a business trip from Atlanta. I've been to the Ballston Food Court several times since I visit frequently. First time at Hal & Als and I ordered the brisket sandwich. the cashier who I assume is the owner was telling me about who he learned to make ribs from down in Atlanta. he was so hospitable too. he asked me to let him know what I thought. I completely forgot. everything was great. halal BBQ is a little different but it blew me away. I'll def revisit when I'm in Arlington again.“

Steven was friendly and welcoming, taking time to walk us through the menu and explain the specialties. The chicken sliders and the fries were delicious. Generous portions and great value.

We also loved the atmosphere especially the local murals featuring Leesburg Pike, which gave it a fun community vibe. Everything felt clean, lively, and well put together.

We’ll definitely be back and recommend Dave’s Hot Chicken to our local school for a potential spirit night fundraiser at Glen Forest Elementary.“
