“Today was my first time at Amirtha Curry & Bar. Went in for lunch and was not disappointed! The flavors and spices were so rich and deep, even down to the Chai they give at the beginning of your meal. So pleased to have found Amirtha and will definitely be returning!“

“Port Arthurs is my favorite Chinese Restaurant. I love the fact that they are locally owned and have been here for as long as I can remember . They are a staple in Newport News and never disappoint. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and menu is extensive. Y’all, it’s that’s good! .“

“Absolutely terrific food! I ordered from here today on the recommendation of a coworker. I was very happily surprised! I had General Tso's chicken with pork fried rice and an eggroll. I wouldn't change a single thing. Everything was hot, and the veggies in the rice and eggroll were fresh and not cooked into a soggy, tasteless mound. It was reasonably priced too. It's a little off the beaten track but now that I know it's there, I'll be there frequently. I'm looking forward to working my way through the menu!“

“Very sweet lady at front. I love the food. Even when they were downtown Newport News, I used to go there. The new location is just as good. I don't eat Chicken anymore, but the Teriyaki is the best, especially fried hard. I recommend the fried rice (any kind), the egg foo young is delicious and teriyaki are all my faves. I haven't had a bad experience thus far. Highly recommend eating here if you want good Chinese food. 10/10“

“I am not from around here, but this is the best Chinese food I’ve had by far! Everything is fresh, the chicken is crispy, and even the rice and broccoli are perfectly cooked. The small portions are the perfect amount of food for one person. And the prices are great! They even wrap the containers with plastic wrap so that it doesn’t leak when carrying it. I just wish there was a Chinese restaurant this good where I live.“

“Food is really good here. More of a takeout place than a sit down and eat place, but they do have tables if you're so inclined. Very reasonable, too.Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible handicapped parking right outside the front door. Bathroom is large enough to get a wheelchair in and out of easily.“

“I judge a Chinese place by how fresh the veggies are and how tasty the non-fried meat is. The Szechuan chicken I have pictured is as fresh and delicious as it looks!I rate this a cut above most Chinese places in Hampton. You have to get near Fox Hill for better.Staff is always super friendly. Note there's no dine-in option.“

“I ordered a family meal. The general tso chicken was very good, enjoyed the heat and it wasn’t overly salty. I liked that there was a choice of rice! The hibachi was delicious, vegetables fresh, crisp and the meat tender. The chicken soba noodles were excellent with a nice ratio of meat and noodles but a little salty. The last item in the family meal was egg rolls. They were crispy but not a fan of the mushy inside. That won’t stop me from ordering their food again. I’m a fan!“

“Probably the best Chinese food I've had in the area. I have a hunch their woks are as seasoned as the chef - everything is skillfully executed, with the subtle, smoky savory notes I've come to expect from a well-practiced artisan. The vegetables are consistently tender, crisp, and flavorful, with the right balance of sauce and seasoning to let the ingredients sing individually, and harmonize effortlessly into a wonderfully memorable dish. This was my first visit, but I'll definitely be back - this hidden gem has thoroughly put the likes of PF Chang's to shame, and somehow at prices and speed I'd expect from a deep-fried take-out joint.Definite must-try!“
“This is a pretty typical Chinese take out restaurant, not really any place to eat inside, but it's my favorite place near me. One of the first things you notice is the friendliness of the lady taking your order. She is just so pleasant. The dinner combos, which include the best pork fried rice and an egg roll, are right around $10 and enough for two. I have only tried the General Tso's chicken, and it's decent, but I really like their pork fried rice that has plenty of roast pork, onions, and, uniquely, bean sprouts. So good! Always a positive experience.“

“This place is wonderful; been eating here for nearly two decades. Everyone who hates on the customer service or calls them rude are usually they themselves being rude; I've seen it many times. I don't think a lot of people in this area know how to talk to people of asian ethnicities and take their straightforward attitude as rudeness when really they just want to get you your food and keep it moving. I for one truly appreciate the "What do you want? Okay 5 minutes. Here it is" approach that they have and it's severly undderated. Will 100% continue to eat here in perpetuity.“

“My first time ordering from here so I went basic and ordered the General Tso chicken combo. It exceeded my expectations! Price was very reasonable, rice and chicken were flavorful and portions were so big I couldn’t even finish it all. Reminded me of the chinese food back home in Jersey! Highly recommend ??“
“I come from obici area to come here, it’s my preferred Chinese spot. Foods always hot and ready. I don’t think I’ve had a bad order yet.I usually get the chicken wings, beef pansit or general tsos chicken. My newest fav is the Singapore pancit, which is spicy, but it has great flavor.I also love the online ordering feature, because you can order and pay when you arrive.“

“After years of going to the same Chinese restaurant nearby I finally tried this one. I'll never go back to old Chinese restaurant, this place food is good. The fried chicken looks normal and not as if it was on steroids. The food is ready in the quoted time they said it would be. They always answer the phone. They are closed on Mondays.Vegetarian options: Broccoli lo mein, veggie fried rice“

“Fresh food and veggies. The hot and sour soup was well above average and i recommend it. The crab Rangoon was good, not great and only comes in orders of 10. I also had the kung pao beef and it was tasty. Meal sizes were large and prices were good. I highly recommend going here for takeout.“
