So I hadn’t had Chen’s since 2011 when I’d had it at work. I had a co-worker treat us to her Chinese place. I’d wanted to give it a go, 15 years later. It’s still there. They must be doing something right. They didn’t have coconut chicken. Not a lot of Chinese places have coconut chicken. I’d just gotten the sweet and sour chicken and some rangoons. The fried rice was a bit dark, but actually not bad tasting. The food was pretty decent.“

“I've been ordering for a few years now. I ordered my husband the vegetable pancit today and was not disappointed. I've ordered general tsoas chicken, sesame chicken, sweet & sour chicken, the fried Chinese chicken wings, egg/shrimp/spring rolls, crab rangoon, and all versions of rice. It is the BEST in Norfolk easy. There must be an actual chef back there the food is incomparable. They definitely should have 5 stars but... hey if you guys are reading... get rid of all that junk in the lobby, and work on better customer service! It's not terrible but you'd probably have 5 stars by now...the food is beyond 5 stars!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾“

“This place takes me to my childhood back in the day when I lived in Lambert's Point and there was this place called the Rice Bowl on the corner of 39th and Boydens Ferry rd. accross the street from the corner market. This is where I fell in love with fried rice, small smoke, chop suey and of course yak, Norfolk style. So if you're feeling a little nostalgic for old style neighborhood Chinese takeout you should go there.“

“The food was good but I ordered from the lunch menu and they have more rice than food. The beef and broccoli lunch special was 3/4 rice and 1/4 broccoli with some beef. It tasted delicious but very disappointing since the ratio of rice and entree were disproportionate. Not sure if I'll get their food again. I don't want to pay $8 for basically rice. That c is why I give it 3 stars“

“I'm normally loyal to very few Chinese spots, but they've been really disappointing lately. For months, I've been craving GOOD chinese food. So I decided to give this spot a try after reading other reviews. I made a delivery through uber eats. Everything tasted so good, it had my partner and I smacking the table with almost every bite. The general tso and orange chicken were still fresh and crispy when the food arrived. The teriyaki beef was cooked to perfection. The egg rolls were crab rangoon were so delicious. This is the taste I've been craving! China house has found a loyal customer in me. I'll come back to edit this post in the future to comment on their consistency. “Amazing experience overall! The Crab Rangoon and Shrimp Eggroll were great. The Gen Tso’s Shrimp had a sauce that was a little too thin BUT made up for that with flavor and the quality of the shrimp. Absolutely will order from them again!“

“I’m going to go ahead and leave my review in view of some negative ones. Me and my co-workers have been eating the lunch special for the last 3 years twice a week. We all really like it no complaints plus super cheap. Plus you get a free can of soda. About $22 for us 3. You really can’t complain at that bargain. Food is fresh and super hot when picked up. “I’ve eaten the sesame chicken and general tso’s chicken here and both were pretty decent. Nothing crazy but a lot better than the other takeout restaurants. I’ve tried in the area.

Those chicken I got was a little crispy little spicy, and saucy enough to flavor the inside of the chicken as well. Since it was made fresh, there were still a little bit of crunch on the breading, which is really nice and while there is a lot to cover each piece of chicken, I found it to be all right, especially with the plentiful sauce and good amount of rice.

Sesame chicken was also good too when I had it it was crispy as well freshly made, and while it was a little bit sweeter than the general souls, it was still very nice. I finished my entire plate with no problem and I was satisfied.

Service is quick and the waiter upfront while a little curt but is very quick to make sure to take your order and get everything squared away so nothing wrong with that. I’ll definitely be back here for a quick lunch.“

“Loyal since 2021. There’s a lady that always calls me honey when I come in and it makes me smile. The food is always tasty, and hot. My go to in orange beef, or general tso chicken. My gf gets the mei fun typically. It’s a gem to me and I’ve only ever had good things from here. Hope you also enjoy.“

“I called in for delivery and got my food very quickly. The price is decent for the amount of food you get. I ordered the Hunan beef, steak on a stick, fried rice, and sugar biscuts. The hunan beef is suuper good and has a great amout of heat to it. The steak on a stick is very flavorful as is the fried rice. And the biscuts are soft and sweet. Would highly recommend, especially for people who live on base because they do deliver on base.“

Everything was fresh, warm, and delicious, but the egg rolls and rice stood out the most, both as good as my favorite Chinese spot in Chicago. Portions were generous for our large family.“

I ordered beef and broccoli 9/10 it was delicious shrimp fried rice 10/10 no complaints even generous with the amount of shrimp for a small order also got chicken wings 6/10 flavor was good but weren’t crispy enough and I requested fried hard wings finished it off with a bottle mt dew which was like 2.75.
