“I've been ordering for a few years now. I ordered my husband the vegetable pancit today and was not disappointed. I've ordered general tsoas chicken, sesame chicken, sweet & sour chicken, the fried Chinese chicken wings, egg/shrimp/spring rolls, crab rangoon, and all versions of rice. It is the BEST in Norfolk easy. There must be an actual chef back there the food is incomparable. They definitely should have 5 stars but... hey if you guys are reading... get rid of all that junk in the lobby, and work on better customer service! It's not terrible but you'd probably have 5 stars by now...the food is beyond 5 stars!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾“

So I hadn’t had Chen’s since 2011 when I’d had it at work. I had a co-worker treat us to her Chinese place. I’d wanted to give it a go, 15 years later. It’s still there. They must be doing something right. They didn’t have coconut chicken. Not a lot of Chinese places have coconut chicken. I’d just gotten the sweet and sour chicken and some rangoons. The fried rice was a bit dark, but actually not bad tasting. The food was pretty decent.“

“I'm normally loyal to very few Chinese spots, but they've been really disappointing lately. For months, I've been craving GOOD chinese food. So I decided to give this spot a try after reading other reviews. I made a delivery through uber eats. Everything tasted so good, it had my partner and I smacking the table with almost every bite. The general tso and orange chicken were still fresh and crispy when the food arrived. The teriyaki beef was cooked to perfection. The egg rolls were crab rangoon were so delicious. “The food was good but I ordered from the lunch menu and they have more rice than food. The beef and broccoli lunch special was 3/4 rice and 1/4 broccoli with some beef. It tasted delicious but very disappointing since the ratio of rice and entree were disproportionate. Not sure if I'll get their food again. I don't want to pay $8 for basically rice. That c is why I give it 3 stars“

“This place takes me to my childhood back in the day when I lived in Lambert's Point and there was this place called the Rice Bowl on the corner of 39th and Boydens Ferry rd. accross the street from the corner market. This is where I fell in love with fried rice, small smoke, chop suey and of course yak, Norfolk style. So if you're feeling a little nostalgic for old style neighborhood Chinese takeout you should go there.“

“A very busy and fragrant kitchen!! We don't often get the opportunity to eat in, but when we do take out or delivery the food is always fresh and very tasty. With the generous portion size we have had many delicious plan-a-head meals. Whenever we have eaten in, it is very reminiscent of Asian market dining. We always recommend them to new neighbors.“

“my dad is visiting my sister and i here and we made a rather large order for the whole family, but unfortunately upon arriving back home we noticed just one of the meals was missing. no big deal to us because we called and they said we could come back to get the missing item!! and not only that, but my dad who went inside both times said the person he spoke to (i believe it was the owner) was extremely kind and apologetic and took complete fault for the missing item. we were given two (so one extra) meals and two extra egg rolls for the inconvenience. thank y’all!“

I ordered beef and broccoli 9/10 it was delicious shrimp fried rice 10/10 no complaints even generous with the amount of shrimp for a small order also got chicken wings 6/10 flavor was good but weren’t crispy enough and I requested fried hard wings finished it off with a bottle mt dew which was like 2.75. Anyways, we only noticed when we went home to Montreal so I figured going back would be a waste of time and gaz. It makes me a little angry that the employees make mistakes like that.
