“Hot & sour soup was very good. Crab Rangoon had very little filling. Spring rolls were good. Our first time and we ordered online and had a 20 minute time window but it ended up being 40 minutes. They were busy and I understand. We would go again for the soup for sure“

“Best Chinese food in Chesapeake. Sweet and sour is always fried hard, sweet and tangy sauce. Some of the best Chinese fried rice I’ve had, it’s not dry at all and very flavorful. We love the honey wings, my some tears them up every time! And you gotta dry their homemade lemonade and sweet tea, soooo good (: they are always friendly and have never gotten my order wrong.“

Didn't care for the pork fried rice but it was simply a preference. The pork dumplings , teriyaki, chicken fingers, egg rolls and other items were great. Delivery was on time and price was reasonable“

“I have never dined in at Golden Star, but we order delivery all the time. We have tried many different Chinese food places around our area and there is always something that turns us off to them, specifically the egg rolls. Golden Star has exceeded our expectations. I'm not going to claim that they are a gourmet restaurant, but their egg rolls are flaky and delicious, the pork fried rice is on point, and the Mongolian Beef is the best I've ever had. Very pleased with this place. Oh and the food always comes faster than they say (doesn't hurt I live less than 2 miles away).“

“I only gave a 4 star bc this is my 1st time visiting and trying their food. I ordered a large Bourbon Chicken with an egg roll, my wife ordered 2 yoks w/boiled eggs and chicken wings. My order looked pretty good, it came with 2 boxes of white rice and a container full of chicken, onion, and broccoli, and gravy. My wife's orders came w/yok, a boiled egg but instead of chicken wings, they substituted with cut up chicken pieces. She was not happy after getting home and not getting wings in her yok. It was not told or communicated to us at the time of ordering that they ran out of wings. She was visibly disappointed and didn't finish her food nor does she want the other order. I liked my Bourbon Chicken Dinner but I thought the sauce or gravy was a little more thinner than other Chinese restaurants I've ordered that same dish from in the past. I can't speak on the other dishes they offer, but from what I saw the amt of customers coming in and out, they seemed pretty satisfied.“

“Great place, went here for lunch with my partner. Large menu, reasonable prices, and calm atmosphere.
Food was a small wait, but it was worth it, tasted very good and was still hot when it came out. My soup portion was way larger than expected, which was a very pleasant surprise.

“Hello, I just have to say, I travel for work, I’m from the Raleigh area and I’ve tried a lot of Chinese take out, but this one has to be the best one I’ve ever tried, and I’ve traveled along the east coast. The food has the best and exact flavor you are looking for in Chinese take out. 10/10 💯“

“Very very delicious food. I got the chicken broccoli combo which comes with pork fried rice and egg roll. The chicken tasted clean, moist, and full of flavor.
I subtracted one star because the rice was a teeeeny bit soggy with grease. Not a huge deal to make me not eat it but it was just something to note.
The eggroll wasn’t greasy and was delicious. As was the Chinese donuts and the crab ragoons. Just note that the sauce for the ragoons is a small dipping sauce container. I know some other places do like 4 oz containers. Ultimately it didn’t impact me since it was just me eating but just so you know.

I’ll definitely be back! Very happy with this spot. I spent $29 for all the above.“

“I love this place my favorite dish is the sweet and sour soup. It's the best sweet and sour around so hearty healthy wonderful flavor profile just excellent. I have tried every Chinese spot near me there's 4 this place is the best hands down. I've tried several dishes and they are executed well not in the Skip the flavor the previous places I went like to do kind of way they use the spices. I've requested more spice on kung pow they actually did it. The general so very nice sweet and actually had heat. I love there vegetable pancit and any of the egg foo young options are great love there gravy nice 5 spice savory gravy. I appreciate the pride they take in the simple American Chinese dishes they make. Someone should absolutely kiss the chef. The cashier/host I think she is wonderful.“

“I have been going to this wonderful place inside of Chesapeake square Mall in the food court a few times and thought it was time to make a review. It's exceptional value for what you get and always fresh! I've had a few different things. I love their green beans and bourbon chicken and Singapore rice. The most! Very friendly staff and wonderful service. Everything's clean and hot as you would like it. Always a place to sit in the food court. If you're in the mood for a Asian cuisine, quick and delicious, I recommend you go there.“

“Excellent food, friendly people, which is what you want for carry out. The location is in an old strip mall. There are bars on the door and windows. Inside, there is no seating or pretty asian pictures. It is just a walk up counter with lots of old plexiglass that looks like a COVID holdover, and you just stand around looking at your phone while they make your food.“

So far,I've tried the shrimp w/garlic sauce & veggies,crab Rangoon, honey chicken wings/fries,pork low mein, shrimp fried rice & some of the best yat gaw mein I've ever had. No cayenne pepper. They have hot oil. But,I think the sauce cooks the onion. Bcuz it's fresh,so it's hot. But If you're more of an onion person. (Like me) I just dice some raw & drop them in. It's fabulous! Have yet to be disappointed. Food is good. Free drink w/ $15 or more purchase. The hospitality is ok too. Always friendly. The only reason I gave them a 4,for atmosphere .Minimal seating. “Ordered through door dash and they made to order as I requested. However, I believe this is the last time I order boneless spare ribs....it's always meat and gristle. The General Tso chicken was crispy and tasteful, white rice fresh and chicken wings tasteful. Egg rolls were flaky.“

“Got the generals chicken. Chicken was not just a lot of bread. Fresh. The veggies in the fried rice were crisp and fresh. Could have used more heat but I like spicy. Compared to the chinese dump in my town this was pretty good. Don't know if that's a compliment but was supposed to be. My girls steamed dumplings were bangin and her chicken fried rice was good too. All chinese places should take note that 3 day old chicken tastes like 3 day old chicken. They're chicken is pretty fresh. For American Chinese fast food I would definitely eat there again when I'm close.“

I especially like their coconut shrimp, which is similar to Walnut Shrimp from other Chinese restaurants, but their Coconut Shrimp has a very balanced flavor. The atmosphere is very relaxed.
