“Whoa!!! Blown away by the food here! First, we came due to the reviews we read; so these really do influence our decisions. When we first entered this cafe, we weren’t sure what to expect. It’s a nice shop with a lot of books, perfumes, and unassuming clothes. Then we were greeted by the two gentlemen who work there. Hands down, the kindest souls I’ve met here! We felt so fortunate to have arrived. And the food is an entirely different story! This food will impress even the pickiest of eaters!! We had the chicken sandwich, cauliflower wings, fries, and sweet potato fries. Everything was fantastic!! Fresh, crisp, and perfect. But their water has got to be the purse water we have ever had the pleasure of drinking. So clean and delicious. I can’t wait to return. “I have had CLTRE once before with a vegan friend in Selden Market, but recently had them again at a YELLOW event they catered in MOCA. Excellent quality and so tasty, with warm service from the owner. Not many vegan options in this area, so this is filling a great niche/growing market here in the 757.“
“This place is great! I have gluten issues & I am vegan so to find a place that can accommodate me other than just offering salads or sides was awesome. Got the Lions mane chicken sandwich with waffle bread & it was fantastic!! Elderberry tea is really good & you can get all their teas iced which I loved. It does take a bit to get your food because it’s really cooked to order but our food was piping hot when it came out. We will definitely be back next time we are in VA!“
“I have lived in Japan and it has been so hard to find authentic Japanese food but look no further for this place is as real as it gets. I was so nostalgic during dinner, they bring out miso soup and salad as a complimentary starter. In order the Mt Fuji roll which was divine! I also ordered the tempura dinner and it was delicious! Great portions and even better taste! I will recommend this location to everyone who wants authentic Japanese cuisine!“
“We ordered their Mesob Special Tibs and Ye Tibs Fitfit. I loved their food! However, they do not have many non veg options in their menu. Even from the small menu, they did not have many of the items available which was frustrating. The service can be improved!“

Their renovated seating area is amazing - splashes of color, artful decor, etc. Their food is delicious and very different from what I have had - you can tell they’re really wanting to bring a piece of Ghana to Virginia Beach. “My daughter found this place, said she had a great experience here before, and wanted me to try it. So, we were in Norfolk for the day and stopped by, I love a good bagel with cream cheese, and this fit that description. I chose a vegan everything bagel with plain vegan cream cheese. It sounds boring, but the flavor was awesome. I enjoyed it and look forward to going back next time I'm in town.My daughter had a rough visit this time though, she asked for a vegan breakfast sandwich with vegan cheese, and when we got it, it had regular cheese on it so she couldn't eat it. She was very upset, but when we turned the car around to go back, they were very accommodating, apologized for the mistake, and remade her sandwich. I thought they handled it very well, and she was happy.I will absolutely go back a second time. Customer service is everything. And the food was on point. I wish I had one right now, but I live too far away, lol.“
“The spicy guacamole was a welcoming dish to have, the combination of flavors surprised me. Follow that up with the stuffed poblanos was a good choice. Personally I think the rice was too dry. Had a few bites of the tamales which were ok but I was never a fan , however the wife raved about them. Our margaritas were very good and tasty.The decor is nice but typical for a Latin/ Mexican restaurant. Be forwarded that it does get very loud which makes it hard to hear the person across from you.“
“I love cold pressed juice. I ordered the Root juice which had a strong beet taste which I enjoyed. Hummus and tortilla wedges were delicious. The service was excellent and the staff is friendly. We waited in comfortable chairs and looked at the fish swim in the tank. There was a tv playing but was not very loud.“
