“I recently dined at NC Coast Grill & Bar in Duck, NC. The overall experience was pleasant, with attentive service and well-prepared dishes. However, I did notice that the ingredients didn’t feel particularly fresh, more like pre-prepped items that were reheated before serving. That said, the flavors were still enjoyable, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. A decent spot for a casual meal, though I’d love to see a stronger focus on freshness in the future. 3.5 stars.“

“Our party of 3 (2 vegetarians and 1 vegan) absolutely loved our lunches here. The owner was friendly and accommodating and obviously puts time and intention into her recipes. We didn't feel like her veggie options were an afterthought, like they were most other places in the OBX. The basil pesto and sun-dried tomato pesto were stellar. The fresh mozzarella was creamy and delicious. Her smoothies and coffee drinks were delicious as well. This was by far our favorite place to eat on our vacation!“

“Very busy in the evenings with a line out the door. They had enough flavors to choose from- Think Orange Leaf style custard.

Seemed to be a favorite amongst the kids and locals. They have some outdoor seating where you can sit and enjoy your selections but honestly with the toppings bar you really want to hang back and wait for people to add on their toppings before you approach if you don't want your custard to melt.

I was mindful of this and had noticed some slower moving, indecisive individuals (do we really need toppings?) and my custard still was melting quickly after a few steps out of the door.

Recommend getting there earlier in the evening when it's less busy. Also observed a mom that dropped their 8 year old off at the ramp and the kid darted off in front of us, cutting us off as we were about to enter the ramp. The mom parked and then joined her son afterwards (really? Lol)

I guess what im trying to say is if you're over 21 and grown but still want to enjoy some treats you should try to go earlier than later to avoid some of the riff raff 😂“

“South Beach Grill is a staple during our annual OBX vacation. We order from there 2-3 times during the week. They are fast, friendly, and ordering is easy online. Dinner for our group of 9 was ready for pick-up in less than 20 minutes. Everyone has tried multiple things from the menu and everyone was extremely pleased with everything they’ve tried. My favorites are the southwest wrap, burgers, and Buffalo chicken Philly. Their fries are delicious… especially with their fry sauce or BBQ ranch. South Beach Grill is a must have on your OBX vacation!“

“We returned to the Outer Banks last week after a 20 year hiatus, remembering Tortuga's Lie as one of our favorite places to eat. We ate there on the second night of our stay and no one in the family was disappointed. I had the grilled salmon salad special and coming from a tough critic, it was DELICIOUS and did not disappoint! The food was excellent, I believe Quinnton, he was on top of it. Only downfall was it was VERY loud, no fault of the establishment. This was a recommendation by my high school buddy. It did not disappoint. Highly recommend, leave yourself some time for seating, don't be that guy / girl that complains. Give them your name and go to the shops nearby (all local).“

“We arrived right when they opened at 10 and a line formed quickly which is always a good sign. The kids got one of the freshly made donuts and a milkshake. Both received high reviews from the kids and now they want to go back and try their ice cream and other donut flavors. So far this is the only ice cream spot that we found soft serve 🍦. We haven’t tried it yet but will be back to see how it is. Staff were super friendly and helpful.“

“We ate here on Friday Oct. 20. Bartender was super friendly. Highly recommend the clam chowder, best we've ever had. I had the Grouper special and it great. My wife had the Tuna, was super pleased, cooked perfect and not many places get it right. They did. Chef was great to talk to. She explained a lot as we sat at the bar waiting for our food. Backyard bar was our kind of place. The band had to cancel because of rain but It would have been a great place to see one. Will go back next time we are in Duck. Thanks for a great experience.“

We were expecting a bit of a wait, but OH MY GOODNESS—they got us seated real quick, which was such a pleasant surprise! We absolute loved the food, especially the snow crab legs! They were fresh, delicious, and definitely the star of the whole meal. Everyone at the table found something they enjoyed and ate every last bite! The staff and service were wonderful, too—super friendly and attentive from start to finish. The only downside was that it was a bit pricey, but honestly, for all the amazing seafood and great experience, it was well worth it. Solid 9/10 for me!“

They were also very accommodating for a shellfish allergy and used a pan on the grill and changed gloves, as to not cross contaminate.(kitchen is open, so I watched the process) Also the waiter immediately told me I wouldn’t be able to eat the fries due to cross contamination and subbed a salad for the same price.
