“Il Faro is a very good restaurant. I love the Chicken Marsala here. Extremely tasty. A different spin on it as they don't use spaghetti as the pasta. The chef uses penne pasta and it absorbs the flavors of the sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach and the organic chicken well. The chicken is extremely tender and the chef consistently delivers this dish in the three times we have been here since they took over after Mama Mias closed. I also want to note they do the appetizers well. We enjoy the mozzarella sticks and the meatballs. You can tell the mozzarella is fresh since it doesn't have that frozen taste and the sauce to dip in is very tasteful. As for the meatballs, they are beef based but the chef adds a great flavor of the tomato sauce and mozzarella and they add delightful bread to soak up the remaining sauce and cheese after you enjoy the meatballs. The pizza is a thin crust cooked toward the under side so no browning on the cheese. It is a NY pizza in the finest of traditions. You will enjoy it. Service is top notch. I mean 100%. We go in and we are 100% satisfied with the service. Waitress is efficient, smart and completely interested in making sure you have a great dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.“

The restaurant has an old-world decor with period murals and paintings depicting an Italian parade in New York City. I love the wood-fired pizzas from here because this style adds to the crispiness of the pizza crust. Calamari fritti is nice and airy, unlike many places where they sometimes make the appetizer too dense or oily. Reasonable amount of salt in the calamari fritti, which impresses me because I don't find that often in the calamari I've gotten from other Italian restaurants. The fried mozzarella and arancini are also some must-haves. Before eating here, I used to not like arancini, but this place has converted me into someone who loves arancini.With pasta dishes, some of my personal favorites are the ziti alla Paesana, manicotti, and ravioli. Their chicken parm pasta is also really good.This cozy restaurant nestled in Burke definitely sets the bar high for Italian food in the DMV and has personally elevated my palate on Italian cuisine. Most other places overcook the souvlaki meat leaving it dry but at Havabite the meat was tender and well seasoned and the bread was fresh and the tzatziki sauce was yummy and creamy. The only improvement would be on the baklava, which was on the dry side. We'll definitely be back for more.“

After one employee took out my knots and put them in the oven, another worker went reload the bowl of garlic knots which were already cooked, with more cooked ones, so he got his bare hands, without gloves, and just grabbed as many as he could and dumped them in the bowl that was on display so it would be ready for the next customer. Poor sanitation. I felt like canceling my order.... but I didn't. Just won't go back there. While he was doing this, he sneezed right in front of where there were two fresh hot pizzas that just came out of the oven. So, first thing I thought was, that's very poor sanitary conditions for the rolls, the sneeze you can't avoid, but it definitely got all over those pizzas that were right in front of him. They might want to wear gloves so they don't contaminate the food and possibly have a sneeze /fly/bug/shield blocking contaminants, etc., from getting on exposed food. Arancini was one of the best I've had. Veal Canneloni Special was good not great Fusilli pasta special was served with rigatoni, I dont think anyone else noticed. Had great sausage and LOTS of garlic.....that was fine we were vampire hunting after dinner. I would definitely return. I'd like to try other items and update my rating.“
