“King Family Vineyards is always a beautiful place to visit, but this trip was especially memorable thanks to our tasting guide, Karine Marlifarge. I visited on July 4th with my son and daughter-in-law, and we had one of the best wine tastings I've ever experienced. Karine's knowledge of wine was truly impressive, but what made the experience exceptional was her ability to teach. Rather than simply describing each wine, she encouraged us to compare them, identify subtle differences, and discover the flavors and aromas for ourselves. She made the tasting fun, interactive, engaging, and surprisingly educational without ever making it feel intimidating.
The proof was in the purchases—we enjoyed the wines so much that we ended up buying most of what we tasted! We left with a much deeper appreciation for the wines, a better understanding of how to taste them, and several bottles to enjoy at home. It was a fantastic experience, and we'll definitely be back. If you have the opportunity to do a tasting with Karine, don't pass it up!“

“Wonderful wine, quiet and beautiful location. My husband and I enjoyed our picnic lunch on their patio with our sweet dog by our side. We even bought a couple bottles to go. There was an issue with the order but they went above and beyond to correct it quickly. We definitely plan to return!“

“This is by far the best Thai food my family has ever had and we get Thai frequently and have gone to many different Thai restaurants! The flavors are old and bright. The sauces are spectacular and the meats and fish are tender and flavorful. Amazing meal! We got the soft shell crab, the crispy red snapper, chicken masamang curry, crab fried rice and Thai fried rice. Great drinks as well! Excellent service too! Come here!!!“

“Stumbled upon Whistle Stop Grill and the Stoney Creek Freedom Fest this weekend. We had their Maple bacon burger and it was so good we had to get a second one the next day for lunch. I definitely recommend trying.“

“DO NOT miss the Smoked Kitchen. During a recent "leaf peeping" drive from Richmond, we visited Crozet in time for lunch. First, the location is easy to find and easy to park. Second, they welcome dogs. (A real plus.) But MOST IMPORTANTLY the the food is top notch and the service can't be beat. The pulled pork is the best we've EVER eaten. (I don't use CAPS very often.) Speaking as Virginia/North Carolina customers, that's quite a statement. It's dry, lean and melt in your mouth. Plenty of sauces to choose from if you wish. Absolutely terrific. We bought A POUND to take home. No kidding. The smoked chicken salad sandwich was excellent. And the beer - well, what a nice addition to a great meal.“

“We used Restoration as our venue for a family wedding. It was fantastic! An outside covered patio with stunning mountain views for cocktails and appetizers. Then an event room with windows on three sides with views for our 50 person dinner, ceremony and reception. The food was excellent and plenty of it. Krista and Haley were a joy to work with on all the little details that made the evening such a wonderful success. It was easy to have vendors come in to set up the cake and flowers too. Krista is very accommodating and genuinely wants to help create special memories of a special day. 🤗“

“Fine wines in a very friendly and laid back environment. We’ve probably driven by this place a half dozen times over as many years without stopping. This vineyard took the top honor in the 2026 Virginia Governor’s Cup and we now wish that we had stopped in sooner. We would definitely go again.“

“Great wine and outdoor seating! They’re very dog friendly, but I wished they enforced the on leash rule a bit more. We had our dogs on leash and two dogs off leash ran off to greet us. One of our dogs doesn’t react well when off leash pups run up to them. And we had to physically pull the new pup off ours, and the dog owners weren’t even near by. I think they were the owners dogs or the owner knew them well. They were very sweet, but I wish the rules were either enforced for everyone or there was an off leash area.
But again, the wine was good, the staff was very friendly, and the environment was nice to sit outside. Recommend!“

“This place was a lovely surprise! I've been to the Afton area several times over the past few years, usually on the Trolley Tour out of Crozet but we had never stopped here. My daughter and I were in the area on Mother's Day weekend and stopped here. I had no idea I like Vermouth! The Vermouth tasting was so good, we bought 2 bottles of the spring version. We also had a lovely flight of 6 wines (didn't care for one of the merlots but that's our taste not the fault of the winery). Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back and will bring friends!“
