“Fairfax Bakery is genuinely one of a kind in the DMV area. As someone who appreciates both cultural authenticity and great hospitality, this place delivers on both. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warmth and the aroma of fresh-baked goods.

Their Turkish breakfast is the best in town—authentic, generous, and full of flavor. The baklava is made fresh daily, and their nearly 30 muffin flavors are something you won’t find anywhere else. I especially love the poğaça with ribeye and mozzarella—it’s deliciously unique.

The owners, Atilla and Ozlem, have poured their hearts into this place. You can feel it in every detail—from the quality ingredients to the carefully curated dessert case filled with house-made éclairs, profiteroles, and Turkish rice pudding.

“The food reminds me of a good old fashioned dinner. there are a few opportunities for improvement. My dish was listed as including asparagus but it was missing. The chip beef was severely lacking chip beef. Lunch menus don't start until noon but it doesn't seem to say that anywhere on the menu. Drive through only open Monday through Thursday apparently, also no clear signs on that.“

“Metroplace Cafe in Vienna is one of those under-the-radar spots that delivers. When I say under-the-radar, I mean it. I have lived in the area and commuted past this office building for 30 years and never knew it had a cafe. If it wasn't for the recommendation of a friend, I still wouldn't know about it.

It’s a no-frills deli that kinda reminds me of a school cafeteria but with a surprisingly wide menu and seriously good prices. They even have some Korean dishes. We tried the reuben, the cheesesteak, and the California chicken panini — all freshly made and really solid. Nothing fancy, just honest, tasty food.

What really sets the place apart is Ben, the owner. He’s incredibly friendly and welcoming, and you can tell he cares about every customer who walks in. He also happens to specialize randomly in espresso drinks that would make James Hoffmann proud. Ben gave us latte, cappuccino, chai, espresso, and I forgot the rest to sample, all good. It’s rare to find that kind of coffee in a casual spot like this.

Cafe was clean and modern. Don't expect a dine-in restaurant. This is a your typical cafe that serves local offices. They have plenty of seating inside and outside the cafe, however. “I worked an internship in the same building as this restaurant for 2 weeks. The first day, someone at the company told me about the restaurant, so I decided to go there for lunch on my first day. I got a Triple Club sandwich without the lettuce and tomato. Let me tell you, it was the best damn sandwich I have had in my life. I went back there every single day, and tipped 20% every time because the owners were such lovely people. It was $20, which equated to an hour and a half of work for this sandwich every day, and it was worth it every single time. I’m heading back to college tomorrow and I genuinely think the thing I will miss the most will be this restaurant. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend this place!“

“I've only done the hot bar/salad bar here and not MTO. Everything always seems very fresh, there's a great variety. The cashiers are super quick. Drink selection is huge (fountain and bottled drinks). Great option if you're super hungry or just need a little snack since the bars are by weight.“

“If you want a nice afternoon coffee this is a really good place to go. I was impressed by how the staff made fresh coffee during a slow part of the day, just for me. Also, the donuts here taste fresh. Not stale. The food I've tried here is good as well. Overall a positive experience.“

“Enroute back to Savannah, GA, my son and I stopped here because IHop is one of my son's favorite spots. They were having issues with their system, but still maintained their professionalism. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She made sure our orders were correct. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and my son had the kids silver dollar pancakes. “After taking a recent trip to Virginia, I was recommended to stop here for breakfast as it was right by where I was staying. I stopped inside for some of the specialty bagels. Loved the 4 cheese and bacon bagel. Stopped in the next day as my weekend trip came to a close and Danny the manager and his staff were so welcoming again to me. I took some bagels back to Pennsylvania and shared with my family and they also enjoyed them. Very impressed going to come back soon!“

Very personable and ensures we always have everything we need. Only IHOP we go to because he's the only server that ever seems to actually have a personality and happy to be there.“
