I’ve dined at other restaurants, but I can confidently say that Wild Chicken offers exceptional customer service.“

This dish was everything, a well seasoned, tender steak cooked to perfection, topped with a fried egg, and loaded with crispy fries and sweet fried plantains. Every bite was rich, hearty, and packed with authentic Latin flavor.

The portion size was incredibly generous, easily worth every penny. The steak had a wonderful sear on the outside while staying juicy on the inside, and the way it all came together on the plate felt like true comfort food done right.

The vibe at Chicka Loca is warm and welcoming, the service was attentive, and the food came out in great time. If you're anywhere near Fairfax and you haven't tried this place yet, do yourself a favor and get in there. Start with the Bistec alo Pobre you won't regret it. I'll definitely be back!“

The food was on top form — proper flavours, generous portions, the kind of cooking that makes you stop talking for a minute because you're concentrating on the next bite. Our server was lovely, took proper time with us, and made some great suggestions when we asked. The atmosphere was warm and unhurried, perfect for a proper long meal with good conversation. “The food here is amazing. I had to check myself a few times because I was sitting there devouring my dinner like an animal, lol. The chicken was crispy outside and juicy inside. The plantains and green beans stood out on their own even without rhe chicken. At any other restaurant, green beans are just a filler side item, but here they are standout delicious. Possibly the best I have ever eaten. They cleaned tables as soon as customers left. Service was great. We were totally impressed with this place. We looked at other places for dinner, and left here convinced that there is no other restaurant within nearby that would have been more satisfying.“

The chicken was incredibly juicy, and packed with flavor, but it was the legendary green and yellow sauces that completely stole the show. “This place looked good so we wanted to give it a try. We got the pollo saltado (chicken with red onion and fries in a tasty sauce with rice) and pesto lomo (beef with spaghetti in a basil pesto). Both were served with garlic bread, and both were delicious. I asked for the chicken to be without tomatoes. Unfortunately it was served with tomatoes, but Geraldine apologized and quickly replaced it with no tomatoes. We also tried the raspberry cola inglesa (yum) and flancocho - a chocolate / vanilla-ish (?) cake that was delicious. The prices seemed a bit high, but the food and menu seemed very authentic. 100% Peruvian according to them... Our bill said "Hot and cold" so maybe it's their partner?“

“Pollo Xpress has become our family’s favorite restaurant! I’d argue they might have the best burgers and wings in the area🤤🍔🍗! My son even cleans his plate with their chicken, rice and fries. Now, with a new breakfast all day menu (haven’t tried it yet, but can’t wait) added, I’m sure this place will stay at the top of our list! This high praise from a tough food critic. “I’ve been coming to this location for many years, going all the way back to when this place was called El Rancho. Even back then, it was my go-to spot for Peruvian chicken. The skin was always perfectly cooked, the chicken was marinated to perfection, and the level of service was consistently excellent.

Over the years, the restaurant evolved into Hondu Pollo, introducing Honduran flavors alongside their classic Peruvian dishes. In my opinion, this change only made the place better. The menu now offers a great mix of Honduran and Peruvian options, and everything I’ve tried has been flavorful and satisfying.

One thing I truly appreciate is how welcoming the environment is. I don’t speak Spanish, and at times I feel like I might be the only non-Spanish speaker in the room lol but that has never been an issue. The staff has always been friendly, patient, and helpful, and I’ve consistently felt welcomed every time I visit.

They’ve also made some updates to the interior over the years. There’s now a small bar area where the coolers used to be, and interestingly enough, they even have slot machines. At first, you might think that would make the place less family-friendly, but that hasn’t been my experience at all. I still see families with children there all the time, and the environment remains comfortable and community-oriented.

If I had to point out one area for improvement, it would be menu pricing accuracy. On my most recent visit, I ordered the pollo saltado, which was listed on the screen as $14.99, but the receipt showed $16.99, bringing the total to just under $19 with tax. The price is still reasonable for the portion and quality, but updating the menu boards for accuracy would improve transparency and prevent confusion.

That said, this place absolutely earns five stars from me. I’ve had Peruvian chicken from many places over the years, and Hondu Pollo remains one of the best I’ve ever had. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, the service is reliable, and the welcoming atmosphere keeps me coming back year after year.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Peruvian and Honduran cuisine.“
