“My husband and I went for lunch. The service was amazing and the food was delicious! We both ate a huge meal with beverages included for $21.00 and it was SOOOO delicious!! “The chicken sub is delicious. Melted cheese and fresh rotisserie chicken. You're not going to get a sub like this ANYWHERE around here. It's also just 9.99 which is a deal. The menu has gotten a little more expensive, but this is the best flavors in the area.“
“This is my 3rd time updating my review here. It's gone from 4 to 1 to 5... Their price jump was a deal breaker years ago. That being said their quality has stayed high and their food has always been tasty. Compare that to the drop in quality and taste with the other Peruvian chicken places in the area. Not fair the other places have such high ratings just because they get more foot traffic. I'd travel a little farther to spend more money for Pollo Peru.Chicken is always tasty and not dry. Sides, especially the yuca and sweet potato fries, are always good. Sauces are also good. It's rare to find a chicken place that does even 2 of 3 three successfully.If you're looking for gigantic portions of bland food, this isn't the place. There are countless chicken places that give tasteless food in overfilled boxes. Yes Pollo peru's prices are higher than those places and you get less food. I prefer to pay for the quality and taste.“

After months of trying to get into this restaurant, I'm very glad that I had the opportunity to try this place.I thoroughly enjoyed the overall ambiance of the restaurant and the simplistic yet personal decor. It's a fully transformed establishment since its days as VAPiano.To start off, we were seated quickly and greeted by Ernesto. Ernesto was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and was very warm and inviting. He offered some excellent recommendations and was able to help me navigate the menu since most of the options were completely foreign to me.I greatly appreciated his enthusiasm and willingness to provide an excellent experience for us.We ordered Pisco Sours, Salmon Ceviche, Chicken Empanadas, Tostones Sampler, & the Calamari Fried Rice.All dishes were superb and I would definitely come back just to eat the Salmon Ceviche & Pisco Sour. “10/10 must try! My partner, his brother, and I all got the chicken, plantains, and fried yuca and it was amazing! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the yuca was fried to perfection, and the plantains were perfectly sweet! The yellow sauce and salsa verde were the perfect complements to the dish and each had their own wonderful sweet or spicy balance to them! The atmosphere is authentic and while there’s very little seating the food is something you could take anywhere if your patient enough to wait before eating!Parking: Parking is shared with other businesses in the strip so availability depends on the time of day.Kid-friendliness: I believe I saw a portion on the menu for kids but the kids I saw there were happy to get the chicken and French fries.“
“I don’t know how this place doesn’t have a line out the door all the time. I’ve waited to write this review for a whole year to make sure we didn’t have a fluke experience, or it wasn’t just good because it was a new place.This is easily the best Peruvian chicken place in the DMV. My wife and I have tried probably 15+ places, and this place is the best. 1) it’s always extremely clean. 2) the (assumed) owner is super nice. It’s always the same older gentlemen at the register with a goatee. 3) the food is ALWAYS fresh. We’ve came early, late, in between lunch and dinner hours, it doesn’t matter. Our fries and plantains are always piping hot, and the plantains are always cooked PERFECTLY. The chicken is always moist and tender. The chicken also tastes different and better here - it is marketed as charcoal chicken, and you can taste that. It has that “summer bbq cooked on a charcoal Webber grill” taste, unlike some other places that taste like a gas grill.I personally don’t care for the Peruvian style sauces, but my wife loves them. They offer the 3 selections, a yellow, orange, and green, with no spice to pretty spicy.Highly recommend!“
“Chicharron sandwich was yummy (forgot to take pic bc I munched pretty fast). I thought it was expensive but the sandwich was a big boy and the pork was really tender. Owner's very friendly and they make their stuff daily. The place was clean (especially the bathroom). Will be back to try their house-made desserts“
