“After this place has been on “RVA Restaurants to Try” list for about 3 years, this was our first time eating at Fat Dragon, but it certainly not be our last! The wonton soup was the best my mother has ever tasted…keep in mind, she’s traveled all over the world. The ginger dressing was so delicious, I asked the server if they sold it in bottles. The garlic chicken and basil beef were both so tender and flavorful, I would highly recommend them both. And last but not least, our server was great! Do not wait to try this place like I did!!!! Go now!“

“My favorite little Chinese food spot in the area. The lady in the front is patient while we order. As well as a guy that answer the phone when i place my order. I didn't feel rushed or anything. The food is always good and fresh, not to mention made quickly. I'd recommend.“

“First and foremost, the person that took my order was very courteous. I ordered chicken wings and fried rice and sat no longer than 15 minutes before my order was ready. The wings were fried perfectly and you can't go wrong with fried rice; delicious. Thank you“

“We ordered 8 dishes and the food was absolutely stellar. Probably top 3 Chinese restaurants I’ve had.
The flavors, perfect, the meats were all good cuts (the pork fried rice had nice big chunks of lean pork). The only thing I would pick at is there was a little too much oil in the Singapore mei fun, for my taste. But still delicious. I loved the thin sliced beef in the Singapore noodles.“

“East King definitely hit the spot!
I had the sesame chicken, fried rice, wontons, and egg rolls, and everything was awesome. The sesame chicken was crispy with just the right amount of sweet sauce — not too heavy. The fried rice was really good too, full of flavor and not greasy like some places. The wontons were crispy and the egg rolls were packed and fresh. You can tell everything was made fresh and came out nice and hot. I’ll definitely be back when I’m craving Chinese food again!“

“I love Ming’s! We go here any and every time we want Chinese food. It’s priced right and taste like authenticity. Funky hours of operation but this is our go-to for fried rice, lo mein, and sweet & sour chicken. Love the guys working in the back! Every time I walk in they greet me even when their phones are ringing off the hook for DoorDash.“

“Peter changs is the most authentic Chinese restaurant that I know of. a close second would be Full Kee on horsepin off of broad. but P.Cheng's is a combo of traditional grandma like made hot pots with a twist of today to some beautifully created food art type appatisers. the scallion bubble packed is a delightfully fun munch. we ordered peking duck for take-out tonight. my husband will drive across town to get it as we are in Midlothian. the online order menue is not working. the price listed is 35.00. However the menue will not allow me to even register or order. I called we were told the price of the dish is 65.00$$$! we have pking duck 1/yr on NYE and it's my favorite Chinese Dish . so we bit the bullet and ordered. when we asked about the price difference we were told something that y'all should know.... we were told ...oh. we rais our prices around Christmas! Well thanx PETER CHANG. This better be the Best pking duck I could even imagine. This is what you think of your customers SMH.. I'm not sure that I will continue dinning with you in the future. what a shame. such good food and during the Christmas season most places offer something special to show appreciation to their patrons. But your establishments behavior reminds me od a certain Character in Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. lol interesting that the Walt Disney version of this story Scrooge I'd played by a Duck... 😆😅🤣😂 I'll report back after my husband returns with this golden dinner.“

“It's a little ugly and I hate the look of their wall of protection. Decent amount of food for the cost. I got the egg drop soup with dumplings. Decent ingredients but they flavor it for white people (I am one). Add some heat! Don't know if you can ask for it spicy or just have to add packets of sauces yourself. I would prefer the first choice. Uncle Roger would have some naughty words to say about the lack of seasoning.“

“This is the best value-for-money Chinese food!!!! I had the best Thursday night eating takeout Fujian. The sizes are ample! The prices are very reasonable! Their speed is also remarkable. With everything going up in price I am very grateful for their meals and service.“

“I’ve been eating at Top’s China on Brook Rd for a long time and have never had an issue with cleanliness or quality. The food is always sealed well and the staff has been consistently professional.
I understand everyone’s experience can be different, but based on what I’ve seen and experienced, this place takes food safety seriously. Just wanted to share a different perspective for anyone reading the reviews.“

“August 8th 2025 That the the happiest Happy family dish I have ever had!!!! I ran in just before closing time. The plastic to go container was jammed packed full of meats and seafood. It was not bogged down with veggies either. It was wonderful, flavorful and I was very impressed 😁😁😁. Their egg drop soup actually had a yummy chicken flavor that is very hard to come by these days. Thank you China taste in Varina Va you blew that 1 out of the park!!!“

“The shrimp is always tasty and the servings are hearty in size. The beef, chicken, pork dishes are fresh and the vegetables are flavored just right. Sophia is a wonderfully pleasant hostess who is always friendly, kind and thoughtful. They are also helpful with dietary concerns. Once I went to Zheng’s, I have continued going there on a regular basis. I believe you will like it too if you haven’t already tried it before.. I also like the lunch menu with either a spring roll, egg roll or soup with the entree and rice the way you want it.“

“Glad that they finally reopened and I hope they keep busy. The first fortune cookie I got from them after reopening did have a bit of dark irony that gave me a laugh at the end of the meal.“

“Their food beats 99% of the Chinese takeout restaurants out there. Sad but true! Kung Pao chicken is not too spicy, we like it spicy to our standard. Their savory dishes are really good! Family meal is a very good deal, big portions and good price. I am impressed.“

“Another classic Chinese takeout near the VCU campus. I got a combination General Tso Chicken and friend dumplings. For these smaller Chinese takeouts, the combination orders ~$10 are usually the main order if you want a filling food for a dinner or lunch.
As someone biased to mediocre Chinese takeout, this does hit the spot without being too expensive and supporting a family-owned business.“

“Today I came for the third time to this restaurant, I like to order sweet and sour because the sauce is perfect, today I ordered sweet and sour pork and it was delicious.
The girl who helped me was very friendly and the waiting time was exactly what she indicated. As for the atmosphere, I think they should fix it up a little so that it doesn't look like a restaurant that is about to close, but the food is excellent, my order today was very well seasoned and not at all tasteless like others places.
Parking: Big parking lot
Kid-friendliness: No, only pick up.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes!“

“First time trying this place. The crab rangoon and egg rolls were excellent! The shrimp egg foo yung was great. The spare ribs were good, but could use additional sauce. The orange chicken was ok. The shrimp fried rice was very bland, containing only rice and onion. The teriyaki chicken was strange: the sauce was dried and crunchy, and the chicken was very stringy. It tasted ok, just very different from my perception of teriyaki chicken. The service was quick and the staff were courteous. Next time, we will try other dishes.“

“Exactly the Chinese takeout I was looking for and that I was craving. The sweet and sour chicken was good, not too much breading. The white rice was exactly as it should be and the sweet and sour sauce was the good thick red kind without fruit in it. Thankfully the food was hot and fresh.
Called ahead to order and they said it would only be 10 mins, but still had to wait when I got there. Super busy on a Saturday night, but that just means it’s a decent place to grab takeout! Added bonus that they don’t have ridiculous takeout up charges like other places in the area post-Covid. Looks like their menu is updated too.“

“Tops China's cuisine is quite delicious. The Crab Rangoon can be inconsistent in quality. Sometimes, it appears undercooked. However, today, it was crispy and enjoyable. The pepper steak was satisfying and flavorful. The lunch special offers a generous portion, including the main course and a choice of an egg roll, soup, or drink.“
