“Clifton Cafe is our new favorite evening spot on the weekends. We’ve been customers since the original owners opened it years ago, but until this past fall we did more to go orders than dine in since the service and time to prep food was often slow and unpredictable. Now we go almost every week. We’ve noticed big improvements since they expanded their kitchen and redesigned the bar area. Their new pull up bar is beautiful and spacious. The new owners and management are great too! We love the evening staff as well, especially Ian and Nicole. They are very personable, accommodating, and attentive. They have great happy hour specials from 3-6 and make the best margaritas and espresso martinis. Some of our favorite dinner items include the crab dip, Mediterranean salad, cuban sandwich, burgers, crab cakes, quiche specials, banana pudding, and too many crepes to name! We also appreciate that they have become more family friendly. We had a last minute party of 14 on a Friday evening (half of which were children ages 1-11) and they didn’t hesitate to pull some tables together in a private nook to accommodate our large group (again thanks to Ian and Nicole). We noticed they finally got a changing table in the large bathroom, which they are about to install. Our kids are past that stage, but there were several times when they were little that a changing table would have been helpful.“

“My husband and I found this little spot while out walking . We purchased coffee, bagels and decided to have a scone apiece. The owner and staff are so sweet and you can tell that they love what they do. It will be a regular spot for us to visit.“

“If i could i would give this place zero stars..but not an option. I was a new visitor to this establishment, and let him know that prior to ordering. Wanted the turkey (happy place) a drink and a scone. I get my meal and there is no turkey on it. So I got back and explained I wanted the turkey happy place. He said no you ordered the "our happy place". I said sir I even pointed to what I wanted on the menu. I didn't realize there were two items with the same name. He said that is your fault and you should know the menu. I said we'll I had let you know prior it was my first time here. He said I don't care if it's your first or 3rd you should know the menu. He said I'm not going to remake it., that's what you ordered. I said I would of never order anything with spinach because I'm allergic to it. He said so..I'm not remaking it! So not only did I have to wait a long time for thr sandwich, I couldn't eat it cause I was allergic to the ingredients. So I get back to my office hungry and upset to realize he didn't put the scone I paid for in thr bag. So I call and he says oh next time I will give it to you. No apology or anything. ..and next time, I paid for it this time. Very rude to new customers and would never spend my money there again. I don't understand why he was so rude. You think you would want to retain customers so they will do repeat visits.“

“Love this place! The staff is incredibly wonderful. Always so sweet and helpful. Always willing to answer questions, offer suggestions, and improvise when needed. Been multiple times and have always had a great experience. They also work their butts off keeping the orders cranking out. We have a gluten allergy and dairy allergy in our family so they are always helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating when we order. The space is adorable. You can feel the vibe that is a kind, loving, community space.“

“Found a cute little hidden coffee shop while on a road trip. The staff was super friendly. We grabbed some drinks an iced cold brew, matcha, and a lavender latte, plus some pop tarts and a croissant. The coffee and pastries were both delicious. I'd definitely recommend this place.“

The volunteer who took our order was super friendly and you could feel the passion as they spoke about the business and how their mission is to help the less fortunate. “For starters, the shop is adorable. I love the Foos ball tables, couches, free arcade games, and even a cute little Paw Patrol game for little kiddos. They also have Readers Digest books out to read! The staff is super friendly and helpful and unlike other tea shops, you can get an extra large. But above all that, the tea is sooo good. They have so many great options, including Vietnamese coffee and coffee milk tea and creme brulee cold foam. This is my new favorite tea shop.“

“It has potential to be great! There is nobody managing the seating area to guide positioning of the line. So people are standing over you while you eat. Then everything is a bit over done! Like burnt for a croissant!“

“It takes a bit for me to review, but after a number of pleasant visits, here I am.

The lattes are excellent and creative—the Butter Beer is my favorite. I love their philosophy on flavoring: they start light because you can always add more, but you can’t take it away—i.e., salt when cooking.

The staff is incredibly accommodating, too, and cheerfully made one of their previous drinks that wasn't on the menu.

The prices are nicely reasonable, making it easy to get a great drink within your budget, and my husband loves their suitably priced pour-over options.

The atmosphere is light, clean, and beautifully minimal. As a parent with school-aged kids and a toddler, this calm space provides a true, low-stress retreat—emphasis on the treat.

While they have just three locations and offer franchising, they completely avoid that overwhelming corporate-chain color scheme that hides their logo everywhere and advertises their wares and new things on your path to order. Something I never realized was subconsciously exhausting until it was scaled to a minimum.

It's a welcoming, child-friendly, local spot. So very glad it's not another copy and paste coffee place.“

In PG County it would be overflowing with customers midweek all day everyday and weekends.“

“I was in the store today with my two year old for a quick snack. We were sitting down and soon my toddler started to cry over who knows what...I tried everything to guess and calm her down but she wasn’t having it. I was ready to pack us up and leave so we didn’t continue to disturb everyone in there when one of the employees, Sunni, came over and sat at our table. She spoke so sweet and calm to my daughter who stopped crying and also generously brought her an apple juice and cake pop to stop the tears. “All McDonald's should be the same across the DMV I WAS IN FAIRFAX COUNTY no McDonald's I can compare it to not in SE Washington, DC; PG County or Alexandria, Va. In Fairfax there was a lady constantly wiping down tables keep the soda counter clean it was and amazing to see how clean that McDonald was kept. Manager even brought the food to one person table. Just excellent customer service. I felt like I had travel out of DMV.“

Most especially Barista Eunice who always smiles and offers to help the customers more than most I have seen all over. This is right off of I-95 near the interchange of I-495/95/395 in Springfield, Virginia and within a large strip mall complex. Perfect for a stop over. So, this one sets the standard!“

“A local young man made my day and I felt I needed to tell everyone about him. The past freezing cold week I dropped into Safeway @5:30 PM at Merchant Plaza to get some supplies. Upon leaving I observed another driver struggling to get his truck started. I got distracted and hurried to put my groceries in the car and return the cart so I could help the dad get his truck started. What I didn’t realize is that I left my wallet in the cart and worse did not realize it until 11:30 at night. Safeway was closed and would not open until 6:00 AM. We put all the credit cards on hold and was not happy about having to replace multiple IDs, and likely lost $300.00. The next morning I went thru the garbage cans thinking the worst and when the store opened checked the customer Service - would have to wait until 10:00 AM. Promptly called and discovered that they had my wallet, it had been returned by one of the Safeway employees - Alex! It took another week before I could meet Alex and personally thank him and give him a reward. Several visits to the store working with the manager Robert learning about Alex and discussing what a great deed this young man did. I am truly grateful for the young people Safeway hires and for the ethics and morals of this amazing young man Alex. Alex was a little bit shy, but understood just what I felt about his actions and how much I appreciated his kindness. I rewarded Alex with some cash…. Really feel great about our neighborhood Safeway and its employees!“

“This location along with the starbucks on 10344 Main St, Fairfax, VA 22030 are the ONLY TWO locations worth going to! They have your order correct the first time and I've never had to DRIVE back. I would make rather come here and or drive out of my way for great customer service and product. Its never rushed and always correct!“
