“I don't usually write reviews but I must say despite being a bit unassuming at first glance, this is one of the best meals I have had since moving to the DMV area almost a year ago. Absolutely delicious bulgogi and sides, and a good value at that. It's a bit of a drive for me but I need to go back!! Highly recommended.“

“Carry out dinner , tasty fresh ginger beef, sweet and dour chicken, orange beef, and chicken satay have graced our orders. Always so tasty! :) Agree takes longer than told, and that crispy orange beef is delicious but not necessarily crispy meat, but golly it is so good! Atmosphere fine for take-out. Many yummy dishes. Have not tried the burgers or Thai dishes, I think included so that nearby businesses have great options. Have been there three times, all different entrees and appetizers. . :) 😋“

“Crispy shredded beef and Kung Pao chicken were tasty. General Tso's shrimp had so much breading on it that I had a hard time finding the shrimp. I would not recommend this dish unless you mostly want fried bread. I asked for medium spicy and the dishes were mild. The portions were very generous as we have left overs. The delivery from the time I ordered took a total of 55 minutes. I like supporting local business and will try other dishes from them.“

The outstanding customer service I received at Golden Restaurant truly deserves to be highlighted. On an especially hot day, I walked in and was immediately offered a cold bottled water—completely free of charge. It was such a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the rest of my visit.

When I called ahead to place an order for shrimp fried rice with customization (no msg, light on the soy sauce, very little oil), they listened intently and even repeated my requests so I can verify. Lo and behold, they delivered exactly what I asked for—the dish was cooked perfectly to my liking!

It’s rare these days, especially at a mostly pick-up-style restaurant, to find staff who are not only helpful but genuinely considerate and accommodating. The quality of service here goes far beyond expectations. I’ll definitely be returning—and recommending them to friends and family. Service like this deserves to be recognized!“

“Have to use a GPS to find it. It is carryout only. Wait time was a bit but the food comes out piping hot and fresh. Was so good I didn't wait to get home to eat, but instead sat in the parking lot blowing on it and trying not to burn my tongue. Got general tso chicken, beef lo mein and a small wonton soup for $25. Huge portions. And the meat was huge chunks. Enough food for 4 people. Was disappointed I didn't get an eggroll as I assumed it came with the order. But otherwise I was happy and will come again next time I have a Chinese food craving. Very much like the spots in Philadelphia.“

“I have been coming at least one every two weeks for 6 months , I usually buy for my family or friends and we always say it's the best Chinese food that we have ever had i'm getting the dumplings are fabulous. The spring rolls are great. I usually get that move guy pan which is my number one favorite my daughters and mother-in-law. However Sampan is closed on Mondays (currently) and I was at Pitkins so I stopped in and ordered the General Tso Chicken lunch special takeout (currently $10.75 with tax). “They only do curbside pickup, so no getting out of your vehicle. We got lemongrass chicken skewers, pork lo mein, wonton soup and hot and sour soup. Food was hot, and very flavorful! Lemongrass was so bright, and a welcome upgrade to the standard skewer. The noodle texture was perfect! Hot and sour soup seemed as if it was missing vinegar. It had a tolerable, extra hot kick, and I would have really enjoyed it if it had the sour component. Wonton soup had a deep golden/brownish broth. I didn't have any. I think it exceeded expectation! From the shrimp toast, to the fried rice and lo mein, to the main courses, everything we've tried has been very good. For a quick carry-out Chinese meal, you can't do much better than this place.“

“I order take out from here fairly often now that I've found it. I have a gluten allergy and they are very accommodating and careful with gluten free. A lot of Chinese restaurants don't offer gluten-free, so its great!! Obviously, not everything on the menus is available gluten-free, but there are multiple options. We've ordered many times in the past few months. There was only 1 time that I had a reaction, and it's probably because a gluten-free item and a non-gluten-free item got mixed up. After that experience, I have just asked them to label the gluten-free items to assure it doesn't get mixed up. They have been really good about it. One of the guys that works there, I'm not sure if he's the owner or not, but he goes above and beyond to assure the food is gluten free is safe for me. I very much appreciate him! My least favorite was the crispy wonton it was more fried dough then meat. The beef chow fun is delicious. Good sized noodles with enough veggies and beef. Szechuan beef was good but wasn't exactly spicy.

All of the items were reasonably priced. If you want something easy and quick, definitely check it out.“

Hunan Cafe in Burke is my go-to spot! The food is always fresh, portions are generous, and the flavors never disappoint. I’m a spice lover, and they always nail my extra, extra, extra spicy requests.

Service is fast, the staff is friendly, and the restaurant is clean and simple. Prices are super reasonable, and they don’t skimp on the protein.

The only downside? They’re closed on Mondays—but that just makes Tuesday taste even better. 😋“
