“I stopped here to avoid the ubiquitous Starbucks in the area. It did not disappoint. I had an iced tea and a wonderful coffee cake muffin. The menu has a full array of sandwiches and such as well. It's easy to find inside the office building. I will definitely return.“
“Tonight was just our latest amazing dinner at Blue Atlas! It was Vegan Takeover night and we tried every dish but one … as usual, the flavors were anything but boring. They were bold and surprising and our two non-vegan guests ate every last morsel and then some. The non-vegan nights are equally as extraordinary! Friendly, professional staff (Bas was out server tonight and he was great!) and just a fabulous experience!!! I love the fact that the head chef is a woman (as an aside)!“
“What a treasure! The food is tremendously fresh and tasty. We look forward to using the event space in the back of the restaurant soon for an executive board meeting. The staff are super friendly and I’m grateful to be able to have lunch quickly made while on my break, while having time to enjoy it as well!“
“What an incredible German restaurant ! I was visiting Richmond VA and had the opportunity to visit for dinner. The food and service were incredible even though it was very busy on a Thursday evening. The food was exceptional and so flavorful! Definitely recommend! - but you should call and make a reservation given the restaurant is very popular and busy.“
“First let me say that I lived in Europe for two years and have had quite a few amazing croissants...but nothing like this place. The chocolate almond croissant from Sub Rosa is the best one I've ever had..period. Also, the ham and cheese croissant and the tart was incredible. We heard about how fast they sell out so we ordered a few days ahead of our trip. I'd recommend doing the same if you want to guarantee you'll get what you want. Seriously, if you find yourself down here, plan to make a stop, you will not be disappointed.“
“I recently organized a couple of catering orders from The Smoky Mug, and it was an exceptional experience, largely thanks to Dan’s superb accommodations and friendliness. The catering itself exceeded expectations. I highly recommend The Smoky Mug for their top notch BBQ, and kudos to Dan for making our events a resounding success!“
“I love this place! The food is terrific and the atmosphere cozy and welcoming. I've had the classic samosa, golden milk chai and desi lo mein. Each was out of this world! The owner strives to make his guests feel at home and encourages you to mingle and make new friends. I encourage you to try Gold Lion for the food, drink and friendly vibe!“
“Super cute coffee shop! We had vanilla lattes, chai latte, and a drip coffee. The servers were excellent and friendly. The parking is strange and something I've never seen before - it's a one way street but one side has slanted back in only street parking. Nice quiet neighborhood. We even purchased one of the prints decorating the wall.“
“An absolutely delightful coffee shop. From delicious array of breakfast items like biscuits, bagels, and wraps to their wonderfully creative lunch options, easily makes it one of the best places in Northside. Oh, and the coffee? Fantastic blend and variety. Let's not forget the employees! They are the nicest and coolest bunch of folks you would ever hope to see working in a coffee shop. A+ joint with a groovy atmosphere and makes you want to settle in for a while and enjoy your cuppa.“
“Very friendly prompt carry out service and even had an additional overflow waiting area in an extended artsy area where you could purchase items. Had a an eclectic chic artistic vibe in waiting /overflow area… and the Pinapple Moore Mosa was invigorating.“
“Lovely atmosphere. Everything was delicious, even a tea I didn't expect to like! The owner went above and beyond when we arrived late because we had walked from an incorrect address. She was sincerely apologetic and even arranged for a ride back to our car. A wonderful mother -daughters experience.“
“I used to come here almost every day while I was at VCU and lived down the street. It was one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. I just went back for the first time in 15 years (after moving away from RVA). It's so nice to see that this lovely place is still here.I don't normally notice much difference in drip coffee (it's either good or bad... strong or weak basically) but the one they serve there is noticeably excellent and some of the best I've ever had.The prices are super reasonable. Stefa and Katherine served me and my friend. They were friendly, helpful and patient.Really nice to meet the owner, Quillin. I hope she's proud of her much deserved (and hopefully continued) success and contribution to local culture.Great vibe, kind people, cool art, good music, interesting stuff to read... places like this make Richmond the city it is.:)“
“A local go-to spot for a delicious sandwich at a very reasonable price. Full boxed lunch with sandwich, side, drink, and a piece of house-made pound cake for under $12.00. Owner is always popping in. Outdoor patio is great on a nice day. Highly recommend! Our favorites are the Rueben, Egg Salad, and Ham and Cheese. Potato Salad is the best!Parking: Plenty of parking in lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicapped spots available. Tables are well spaced to accommodate for wheelchair or walker.“
“I am so so picky about coffee, and this is one of my all time favorites…definitely the best coffee in Richmond by FAR imo. Coffee is just deep and rich and so good! Atmosphere is clean and bright and staff is friendly and talented. We keep coming back !“
“the tea selection is great, and the food is super tasty. we had the chocolate crepe, and it was divine. I believe they use a dark chocolate, making the crepe not sickeningly sweet. perfect. I took mine to go, but the atmosphere is super cute and good for quaint tea with friends or quiet time alone.“
“Review based on DoorDash delivery Corned Beef Hash Sammie: Corned Beef, Cheddar Cheese, Egg, Hash Browns, Lou's Special Sauce, on a soft roll 5 for $12.65 Original Breakfast Sandwich: Bacon, Ham with Egg, American Cheese, Hash Browns, Lou's Special Sauce, on Dutch crunch bread“
“Great local, neighborhood café with cozy atmosphere, warm service, and even cozier food. Try a meat, egg, and cheese bagel—my favorite is chorizo; it comes as a layer of spicy sausage crumble. The coffee & espresso are great, and the café is always clean. Excellent place to bring family, friends, and/or coworkers.“
“After two recommendations I decided to pay North End Juice Co a visit and see what all the talk was about. Their Fuego shot was recommended so I did try that along with their Costa Smoothie. The Fuego shot wasn’t as ginger heavy as I was personally looking for. It was more pepper to me, which speaks to the pepper that’s in it. So if you’re ok with that then it may be for you!The Costa smoothie is good. It’s a great blend between the mango , pineapple and strawberry fruits. The star of the show is the mango. So if you like mango, with a a trail of pineapple and a sweet linger from the strawberries this is your smoothie. I will say the Apple Juice that in it is a tad too much for me but not enough to take away from the other elements. If you’re looking for a thick smoothie. This isn’t it but overall good smoothie.I would try them again! After all I haven’t tasted the food yet!“
“Best place EVER!Info:$30 dollars for the tea experience, and youneed a reservation for it."Teaberries" is the side for restaurant area that you don't need a reservation for.She also does a "Tea With Jesus" and a tea school thing.Tea With Jesus is always free. Drinks and snacks provided. The tea school thing (I can't remember the name of it) doesn't cost anything, but the requirement is that you buy something from the gift shop.Hope this helps!Dietary restrictions: Kip herself can only eat organic food, so there should be options for dietary restrictions.Kid-friendliness: Anyone is allowed to come, regardless of age.“
“This is actually a pretty fun spot. Not overly crowded during the day which is nice but still has a great atmosphere. Staff were super duper friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was really good and their sausages are house made which is super cool! I definitely want to go back ?Parking: There are 8ish spaces I think?Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible“
“The vegetable quiche I had was delicious-fluffy and rich and very satisfying! My friend had the cauliflower curry soup and she gave me a taste-it was superb! Creamy and the spice was spot on. We lingered at the table and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves'“
“Our go-to for desserts, and they just happen to be vegan! Flavorful, beautifully prepared, unique items you can't find elsewhere. The savory options are amazing too, they are magicians with seitan. Don't miss their seasonal offerings for holidays! Most recently we had a delicious box of items for high tea from their Mothers' Day menu and everything was perfect and fresh. We are really lucky to have Sunflower Gardenz in our city, a hidden gem for sure“
“I go here pretty often and it's always awesome! I love the staff and the food is great! Today was no exception EXCEPT Marisa was an extra breath of fresh air! She accommodated my silly request and was friendly and we got the best service of the great service we always get. She is a gem.“
“These bagels are the undisputed champ in this part of the world! They get everything right. Somehow a buttered bagel completely misses the mark we sadly found out. This bagel is perfect but if you’re expecting butter this misses the mark completely . For context, in the bakeries in the Northeast a Buttered bagel or roll has BUTTER, not as much as a cream cheese smear but doggone close! That’s buttered! We could hardly see the butter between the slices which was very disappointing AND pricey since butter is $1. So please give me butter I can see, I’ll fix it if it’s too much, but I can’t do anything about it if it’s barely there. My advice? Stick with the cream cheese smear until they’re brave enough to really Butter a Bagel!“
“IVegan @ NuVegan Café in Richmond, Virginia. The vegan macaroni and cheese was the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever tasted. Collard Greens highly recommended on Happy Cow app and did not disappoint. Extremely tasty. The black bean burger also tasted scrumptious. We are going back to try the vegan Mexican food later today. I prefer to eat at vegan only restaurants due to cross contamination of animal products at non-vegan establishments. Go vegan! The only thing I was upset about was that to get just a paper napkin you had to break open a plastic ware (forks / knives / spoons) set and they were not the compostable kind). My boyfriend did not need the plastic ware but needed the paper napkin and got mad at me when I told him that I had silverware to remedy the problem in my car parked directly outside, but it was too late, the plastic ware was already broken open and he didn’t care about the planet that much. So it became my problem. He was like. “let me enjoy my meal!” Grrrrr. How could I say anything after that? We will return but I will bring my paper napkins and silverware en tow. NuVegan even gave us three plastic ware sets and we were just two people. We returned the extra two plastic ware sets and I was grateful that NuVegan took them back. Some restaurants don’t take stuff back due to Covid-19 cooties issues.“
“This was my second time visiting first watch but first time at the chesterfield location. The food at both Midlothian and chesterfield locations were amazing. The staff was very welcoming and professional and my specific server KeKe was amazing. KeKe assisted me with choosing my meal as she was very well versed on the menu. Thank you KeKe for your amazing service and thank you First watch for your business and what the do on a daily basis ?“
“Want a sandwich as good or better than your grandmother made you? Go to Lulabelle's Cafe. Everything is made from scratch, and is delicious. Fresh ingredients thoughtfully prepared are served in a cozy spot in the back of an Antiques Mall. The only thing I would like to see improved is the selection of beer and/or wine, as they occasionally run out of both. It may be a storage issue, as it really is "cozy". But that's a minor quibble because the food is so good.“
“The convenience of the location is extremely important to me as I live in Jackson ward. The only thing I can say is be prepared to wait a bit. Not their fault, they're super popular but you aren't popping in for just a quick coffee unless you drink it black. Also, somehow my price is always high but that's on me for always wanting their mozzarella pesto sandwich with my specialty coffee!“
“We arrived late on Sat. afternoon (RVA Convo Ctr was having an event) and all of the local restaurants were slammed. There were 7 in our party so menu items were limited but we were treated well and our server was great! She made 7 smoothies/milkshakes and they were all great. Prices are reasonable and portions are good. We will be going again but next time before the wave of convo diners descend on the local eateries. Thank you for your great service - we really appreciated it and the food.Vegetarian options: non dairy alternatives for milkParking: It's easier on the weekend to find places to park. On street is limited and you may or may not have to pay. There are lots and garages if you just want to stroll then eat. Visiting the area is the effort to locate parking.“
“Got a M iced Stormsbrew + pimento egg tart for a little over $10—I used to be a Starbucks frequenter, so I wasn't surprised by the price. But the quality was much higher than a chain store, that's for sure! Both items were really good (though I wish my egg tart had been heated up for longer!). Will definitely be back here when I'm in the area!“
“Great food! Healthy options. Excellent service. Will visit here next time we're in town. Can be pretty loud when full. Utilize call ahead seating.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian & vegan options.Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating.Parking: Plenty of free parking.“
“Its the fan. Even the best places are a mixbag when it comes to wait staff (turnover amiright). But the sandwiches and ambiance are unparalleled. Good majority of new spots that are hot for a minute till the new charm wears off: curbside is what they are trying to pull off.“
“Atmosphere: Bright, airy, loud, great working space. Kid friendly, cleanService: attentive, friendly, quickFood: Breakfast Burrito and hot tea for $17+ was over valued. Burrito is mostly rice and was messy to eat. Would benefit from more breakfast ingredients (eggs/bacon) and a dipping sauce? Sour cream or salsa per the bean and rice style.Overall, would come back to try lunch and dinner items!“
“A pleasant little coffee shop with some really tasty breakfast options. Staff is friendly and attentive to the needs of the customer (meaning they got my order perfect because I am picky about my eggs and how they are cooked). Prices are reasonable and the breakfast sandwich I had was large with flavorful sausage. I will be back for more next time I am in this part of Richmond.“
“I'm so pleased we another black own restaurant in the metro Richmond area. this restaurant has a great ambiance and the serv is amazing. This food is great as well. You definitely have to try this new restaurant. The menu is diff which makes it stand out as well. I love the diverse atmosphere they display. The owner and staff ia so welcoming from entry. The staff has a smile on their face while providing top notch service. I will show my face more often. Looking forward wine down Wednesday, Happy hour and first Friday events. Congratulations. Keep up the good work!“
“Shop is cozy and tranquil. The customer service people were awesome and even reminded us of the cards you can get whenever you get boba. Get 9, get the 10th one free!I got the watermelon dragon blast with popping boba, it was absolutely amazing ❤️“
“Spoke with the chef about items on the menu, and some of the ingredients, so I could determine if there were things in the food that I did not prefer. I settled on Chicken Salad to replace the grilled chicken on the Grilled Chicken Salad. (Follow that?) I asked what the dressing options were and the first one he stated was a Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette. SOLD! This salad was fresh, Chicken Salad excellent, and mixing in the dressing, it hit every note I had hoped it would hit in my mouth. The Chef is a CHEF, not a 'cook', and this place exceeds the expectations. I also had a cup of Chorizo and Roasted Poblano Soup he has created, and it was excellent as well. A full-mouth experience as well. This spot is a formidible competitor to other nearby restaurants open for lunch.“
