“Selvedge has been one of my favorite places in the Charlottesville area. The location is perfect for a nice escape from the college town vibes. Menu and beer selection is great! My favorites are the smashburger, hotdog, wings, mac n cheese, and the kale salad! Rick and the rest of the staff are friendly and simply awesome!! Oh - don’t forget to try the popsicles!! “Wonderful experience! Hubby and I visited the tasting room for Valentine's Day. We shared the Reserve flight and Valentine's Wine & Chocolate flight. We took home bottles of four of the eight wines in the flights. The food, corn chowder and a crimini mushroom flatbread, was excellent too. It's all cooked to order & served at the table. Very attentive service. Beautiful setting with sweeping views. I'm so happy that we chose it to celebrate Valentine's Day. It'll be easy to persuade hubby to take me again for my birthday in the summer.“

“STH offers a dependable menu of steaks, sandwiches, salads, and burgers. We recently went hoping for brunch, but since it’s not offered on Saturdays, we ordered from the lunch menu (the strawberry beet salad looked especially tempting). The dessert list sticks with classics like apple tart, brownie sundae, and cheesecake; we tried the chocolate cake, which was satisfying. Overall, this is a good choice for anyone who wants familiar, well-prepared American standards.“

“A truly hidden gem! We were visiting from DC and was looking for some Asian food. Found this place on Google and decided to try it. Wasn’t expecting much for an Asian food restaurant in a small town but it ended up to be top 5 Thai restaurants I have ever had.

The green curry was very tasty and at the right level of spicy. (most Thai restaurants didn’t cook food spicy enough even though it says two pepper spicy or more)

The clay pot was so great and was not something you’d find in any Thai restaurant.

Pineapple fried rice and pad see wee also were very solid. Also highly recommend the lychee iced tea - not too sweet and very flavorful.

My only complaint is the beef was a bit chewy which is often the case in most Thai restaurants.

“We LOVE Potter's! I discovered their ciders when I lived in Virginia Beach and I was SO happy when I realized we were moving near the cidery in Charlottesville. Their ciders are really varied, with lots of different flavors and fun combinations. We are particular fans of the petite cider - it's crisp and dry and we find ourselves reaching for it all the time at home. We also really loved the strawberry ginger, and they had one recently that was like a pet nat. I love that all the ciders are fresh and dry and not super sweet. They don't feel heavy or syrupy at all, like some others do.

Anyway - I could go on forever. But, the place is super cute. It's in an old renovated church up on a hill. There's tons of parking and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They have a great variety of snacks and some food (sandwiches and such). We try to get over there when we can, but we've always got a pack (or 3) of their ciders at our house.

“This is my very first time visiting a winery for a wine tasting activity with my family and I'd say the experience was wonderful. We went here late afternoon and got some red wines to try. I literally have no idea that red wine has different variations and so, because of the wine tasting we did, I found out my preferred type and it was enjoyable! The wines are amazing!

The whole King Family Vineyards offers such a cozy place with lots of wines to choose from. They also sell frozen treats, souvenirs, clothing and more. The staff are nice, too.

I've got to see people hanging out and having fun, enjoying a beautiful day around the vineyard. Some folks play some polo, too! This place is really beautiful because you see so much greenery and mountains around that makes this place the perfect spot to relax and unwind.“

“Not too long ago I discovered Sk Coffee and I’m already in love with it. Not only do you get greeted with smiles but you get great quality coffee. Sk coffee is a great place to go to if you want a quiet environment for studies etc. I 100% recommend this to anybody!“

“Smoked Kitchen and Tap jumped in to help us out with catering for our wedding after we ran into an issue with our original caterer. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the BBQ tofu and the sauces! We seriously can't thank them enough for saving our wedding dinner!“

“We had an amazing experience with Red Hub Catering. They provided our cocktail hour food, reception buffet, cutting cake, bartending service, and Sunday brunch. The food and service were impeccable. For bartending service, Red Hub provided the bar set up and mixers, but allowed us to provide our own alcohol which is uncommon among catering vendors. Red Hub generated a custom menu for our reception that consisted of a nacho bar for cocktail hour followed by a taco buffet for dinner. They also baked a beautiful cutting cake and delivered brunch to the lodge we were at the following morning for everyone to enjoy. Overall an incredible vendor who expertly provided us multiple wedding services.“

Not only have I dined and watched movies a bunch but I've also worked here for a while years ago so I know the operations behind the scenes. Kitchen is clean, staff is well trained, and people REALLY care about the mission. That being said, no place is perfect and there are a few things I could complain about. I get movie theater pricing because theaters make next to nothing on ticket costs alone. However, I think some better priced apps and drinks would be great and also you should be able to get free refills on popcorn no matter where you get it from whether it be at your seat or at glass half full. Change some of those rules please because if I'm buying a popcorn for $10 I better be able to eat it no matter where I am on the premises. Also, get your growler license and offer togo cocktails. It's legal now. Otherwise, this is a great place and the events are SO FUN!!!“

“It was our first time having lunch at Boylan Heights with the family, and we really enjoyed it. We loved the open-air atmosphere — it was so nice to enjoy a meal while feeling the breeze and watching a basketball game on TV.

The kids were especially excited to see a train go by — that was a fun and unexpected highlight for them!

One small thing: The vegetarian burger I had that day was a bit dry and harder than what I’ve had elsewhere. I’m not sure if that’s how it’s usually served, but it didn’t affect our overall great experience.

“We really enjoyed our visit to Charlottesville and our stop at The Virginian. The food was a highlight of the trip! The barbecue pork sandwich was excellent, as were both the Caesar and house salads—fresh and flavorful. The Virginia burger with fries was also very good.

We were excited to try the Palmetto cheese burger and the Palmetto cheese sandwich, but unfortunately, they didn’t quite meet our expectations. They weren’t our favorites. The seasoned fries got mixed reviews—some of us enjoyed the bold flavor, while others found them a bit too spicy.

The root beer floats were a big hit—absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, which made the overall experience even better.“
