“Had the Fajitas Texano and it was perfect. All of the proteins were cooked well and the cheese sauce wasn't bitter. The staff is super friendly and really gave that family vibe. I didn't have a drink but someone else in the restaurant did and they said it was good. Will definitely be back again and again.“
“Food is good and flavorful . Must try. Portions are big. The wait time is a little long but the food is being made fresh every time. With that being said, I took a star away because one time I got beans and rice and it was kinda funky and didn't seem to be made that day or as if it's been sitting out after it cooked. Must try tho. It's just a store with a little kitchen in the back half of it with a few chairs and tables. But it's a must try if you can communicate with them and tell them what you want. In the pics is a Cuban Torta with beef cheeks added on. Big as your head.“
“This was my wife and I first time at this establishment. The service was prompt, the food was excellent. The atmosphere was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The food was so Amazing! We will definitely eat here again.“
“Really great hidden gem with amazing food! We got the Torta Cubana and it was loaded with lots of meat. We could barely finish half of the torta. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for an authentic Mexican spot. We also had the horchata that was delicious!“
“This was my first experience coming to the El Caporal, and it was DELICIOUS. My wife got the Pollo Sammy which was cooked to her liking. I got the Burrito Chipotle. The flavor was amazing. The menu stated it was "hot" but it wasn't hot to me. I love spicy. The cheese dip was great with the chips and Ranchero and salsa. Now for dessert we got Churros to go, My wife hasnt found any authentic Churros, until now. They were crispy on the outside, nice and chewy on the inside with the right amount of cinnamon sugar dusted on top. The wait staff was very friendly and fast. I'll definitely go back here. RECOMMENDED!!!“
“I recently moved from Ohio and I have been looking for authentic mexican tacos here in Petersburg. Well I just found them at this restaurant. Delicious!! So far the best!! The fried pork belly was a little over cooked for me but still great!!“
“I Love going to this place. Great food great prices. Such nice servers and attentive. The surrounding decor is rather nice. Very stimulating in the fact that it will put a smile on your face. 95% of the menu I just love. That being said, I just haven't eaten everything yet. Lol. Obviously I enjoy going there. It being located where they are, makes it a pleasant and not so crowded environment. I love this place for all my Mexican food. Remind me of how my mom and aunt cooked. Love“

“Fantastic food. I tried a sample of the quesobirria and it was fantastic, perfectly tender meat and crispy tortilla. I ordered the tandoori tacos and used the spicier sauce (the provide a spicy and mild sauce) and it was really good, flavorful and spicy.I also got to try a sample of the Tacos Jamaica which are vegetarian and were very unique and flavorful with a good texture. I'll probably order them the next time I go in.The horchata was so smooth and sweet and refreshing, just what I wanted.The person who served us was super friendly and knew everything about the food. We had a really great experience.Overall, great restaurant, I'd be excited to see them add some more fusion items to their menu in the future.Vegetarian options: The tacos Jamaica are fantastic and vegetarianKid-friendliness: I didn't have kids with me at the time but I wouldn't hesitate to bring my children here.
