“First time here on a Friday night. We had reservations that were mixed up. Even though the restaurant was expected to be full they accommodated the 6 of us. The owner came over to greet us. I told him that this was my first visit. (Everyone else had been several times) Oh then he proceeded to bring bite size samples for me to try. He then offered up suggestions as to what I need to have for an appetizer, main course and even dessert. Food bursts with flavor. But the real experience here was the service. First class. Thank you all for the dining experience.“

“I have never left a review of anywhere. But I love Shawarma Taco with my entire being. I was given a sample of my meal as they were preparing it and that sample bite was the best thing that could have happened. And then came my actual Shawarma…Every bite was filled with every topping I ordered. I can die happy knowing I’ve had some of the best food to exist.“

“This was my first experience with this type of food, and it was good! Very filling, the single protein platter was more than I could eat in one sitting, and I'm a rather large eater. I would go back. However, I would say The Halal Guys are comparable to the Little Ceasars or Domino's of their place in the industry. If you want to play it safe with a commercialized version of Halal food, then this is it. Please don't take that as a negative, Little Ceasars has its place in the market & it's time for when necessary, and so does The Halal Guys.“

“Yesterday was my 1st time visiting VA Kabob House here in Springfield. Being a fan of Afghan cuisine, I had to stop by as soon as possible. Their $11.99 Chicken Kabob Lunch Special advertised on the window had me drop everything I was doing at the moment, just to walk in and try their food out...and let me tell you....Their food is seasoned and flavored to perfection. Staff is very friendly and upon placing your order, you are offered a complementary plate of their chicken soup which is made from scratch..I ended up placing a side order of the soup and I finished everything on my plate in one sitting; kabob, rice, salad, chick peas, bread and all. I'm here again today ordering the same thing as I'm typing this review. I highly recommend VA Kabob House in Springfield, Virginia. anytime you are hungry, especially lunchtime...
One more thing....I don't really care for soup, but their chicken soup is really damn good and I'm not sure if other Kabob spots have their own soup, but VA Kabob House's soup alone is worth the visit, and is quickly becoming one of my favorite Kabob spots in all of Northern VA.“

“The ma’soob at this traditional Yemeni restaurant was an absolute showstopper — the kind of dessert that commands a moment of silence after the first bite. Rich, comforting, and unapologetically indulgent, it perfectly balanced rustic authenticity with refined execution. The mashed banana base was smooth yet textured, soaked just enough in cream and honey to create a luscious, almost pudding-like consistency without turning soggy. Every spoonful delivered a layered experience — the warmth of cardamom, the natural sweetness of ripe bananas, and the nutty undertones from crushed wheat and ghee.
What really elevated it was the garnish — a generous drizzle of honey and a scatter of roasted nigella seeds that added both depth and crunch. Served slightly warm, it felt like the culinary equivalent of a hug: familiar, nostalgic, and deeply satisfying. It’s a dessert that doesn’t need to impress with presentation; its power lies in authenticity and flavor integrity.
In short, the ma’soob here isn’t just a dessert — it’s a cultural experience. If you visit this restaurant and skip it, you’re missing the soul of Yemeni hospitality in edible form.“

“I’ve been coming here since 1999, and I must say, this place serves the best Kabob I’ve ever eaten. The food is delicious, and the sauces truly elevate the dish. The service is phenomenal, and they cook the food fresh on the spot. If you’re in the mood for a great Kabob meal and find yourself at Springfield Mall, you must try this place. I highly recommend the chicken—it’s amazing.“

“I love the food at Mezeh and have always done so but they have recently been making decisions that have left me baffled and the staff seem to be trained inconsistently. What leaves me baffled: 1) No spinach! What? We were just told last week that our local Mezeh has “taken spinach off the menu.” What a weird decision when spinach is probably everyone’s go to salad base. Baffled and inconsistent training: No same staff member keeps it consistent on the meat/protein portion. I feel like over the last year it has become less and less. We even have to ask them now several times to give us more meat and not charge us. When you give us a lazy half spoon that is not cool. Why do you skimp on the portion?! Again the food always tastes great but the service leaves something to be desired.“

“We ordered a variety of food. For starters we loved the veggie samosas with The chutney sauce. The rice is flavored with cinnamon and it will not disappoint. The chicken kabob boneless platter is tender and full of flavor. Our favorite kabob was the chicken with green chili skewer. The rice pudding was so on point we ordered an extra side to go.“

“We recently celebrated my son's Ameen at Haveli Restaurant, and I must say, the experience was outstanding! Aaqil, the owner, and Hassan, the manager, did an exceptional job in ensuring our event was flawless.
Special mention to Hassan, who went above and beyond to manage the food and ensure everything was perfect. His attention to detail and warm hospitality made our celebration truly memorable.
The food at Haveli Restaurant was delicious, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend this banquet hall to anyone looking to celebrate birthday, ameen, or wedding.
Thank you, Aaqil and Hassan, for making our special day even more special!“

“While visiting family they took me here for lunch, the place is so beautifully decorated and clean. The volunteer who took our order was super friendly and you could feel the passion as they spoke about the business and how their mission is to help the less fortunate. I cannot wait to visit again to drink more of the qaiymoq chai and eat the steak & cheese! 😋“
