“We always have a wonderful time at Riverwalk. My family and I always celebrate here for graduations, new jobs, anniversaries, and birthdays. I have celiac disease, and they always have plenty of gluten free options and are willing to accommodate. It really is difficult to find SAFE gluten free food in York County. FANTASTIC espresso martinis and love how cozy and coastal it feels in the indoor dining area. Food was delicious, huge portions, and I felt safe eating here!My husband and I came for our 4th wedding anniversary, and the manager, Brad, and our server, Corey, were wonderful. Brad is quite knowledgeable in the gluten free department. Good food, good service, and yummy options for the celiac community. THANK YOU Riverwalk! “The food was good, I fasted all day because they had a three course menu for their restaurant week and our server was great. We were greeted and seated promptly. The restaurant is so small and cozy so it’s great for a date, however the only thing that went wrong was there was a table full of a bunch of rowdy, loud people. I know it’s not the restaurants fault, but I wish they would tell them to sthu because wow I couldn’t even hear my friends sitting directly across from me. They were soo freaking loud, I head all of their business. There was one lady with a giant mouth who just had the loudest, most obnoxious laugh. I feel like she ruptured my right ear drum.“

“The rock star staff at Grey Goose catered our wedding reception at Hampton Roads Event Center in May 2024. From our first phone call with Dana to the many follow up emails and menu adjustments the process was easy and Dana’s crew delivered nothing less than excellence on our big day. We were so pleased by the diverse catering options to create our custom menu of heavy horsd’oeuvlres, cheese board, meatballs, salads, and a bite sized dessert table was presented elegantly and most delicious! We did not want traditional catering with mass produced stainless steel serving troughs of food, but leaned more towards supporting local for a botique quality alongside an elegant presentation and Grey Goose delivered 100%. Much gratitude to Chef Dana, Chef Phillip, catering manager, bartender, and additional staff for going above and beyond anticipating our needs and quickly responding to every request and making our big day seemless and carefree. “Pam, CJ, Kevin and all the other grille employee's are amazing. The bartenders are very friendly and attentive and CJ knows his way around the kitchen. Man makes the best wings I've ever had in my 38 years. His steaks are cooked to perfection and I haven't had the opportunity to try a burger yet but that's next on my list. Overall I would definitely recommend the Garden Grille to any and all in the Yorktown/Newport News area!“

“Interesting menu items. The bathroom is a little different. I stop off here infrequently on my way to training or if I have other business in the area. The family has great service skills and are efficient owrking large crowds during lunch.“

“The owners are super nice. Our food is always hot and delicious. I always get two pork chop sandwiches with tomato lettuce and onions with French fries and two egg rolls. I may even drink a beer while we are there. It's a chill place to go and shoot pool and listen to some good music and laugh with friends.“

“Wow. This place gets 5 YUMS from us! Looks like we missed National Sandwich Day, but we finally got the chance to try out McAlister’s and it did not disappoint! It did take a little while to decide what to get because their menu is so (beautifully) varied! I ended up getting the 1/2 salad (Pecanberry) and 1/2 sandwich (Harvest Chicken Salad). The price was very good, especially as I was so surprised at the portion given of both! -My sandwich was served on a croissant… a WHOLE croissant! The croissant was toasted just right, making it slightly crispy but not burnt. The salad and the dressing served with the salad were fabulous, as well. Until this meal, I had 2 favorite places to get green salads and one favorite place to get Chicken Salad. Now I have ONE favorite place to get both: McAlister’s. No joke. Plus, customer service there rocks! My husband and I are looking very forward to our next visit and asked for a take-out menu so it doesn’t take us so long to order next time! 😆“

“Great food, very fresh! We came on a Sunday shortly after opening and they got our food to us quick and it was very good. Staff was super nice and helpful in making a choice of which option to get. Dining area is comfy and well lit. Really enjoyed our visit!“

“We had the King Suite and the bed was very comfortable. The bedroom was big and so was the living room area. There is only one bathroom so our daughtet had to use the one in our room. Although the pull out couch was okay she preffered the roll away bed that they provided when asked. When you walk into your room there is a switch by the door that you must turn on to turn the bathroom lights on and off in the bathroom. The bathroom was a nice size with good lighting. The floor can be a little slippery when wet. It may have been the type of tile. The pool area was very nice and enjoyed. The lobby area is a nice size. Oh although you cant tell the King Suite door closes and locks. The staff was very friendly all the time. When ever we needed anything they were there to assist. Overall I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Besides the one bathroom in the suite I would give 10 because of the confort. If continental breakfast was availablenit would have been 12“

“Ok hear me out this place is so GOOD, it was my FIRST TIME trying it out , definitely coming back !!! ok the reviews had me scared however, I actually see people going into this place DAILY . I tried for myself and got a chicken sandwich combo and tenders with fries(21$) The guy in front was very nice and polite and the wife was the cook. From the menu I wasn't expecting much and with them being across from the shipyard don't expect huge portions - their clientele are working 10 hours shifts with 30min lunches lol ? . However the portion should fill you up decent . My food was made to order which I appreciated , had I not wanted to wait I would've called it in. Clean but dated environment but again their clientele is ship yard so people aren't eating inside. Again food is GREAT ??“

“I mainly come out here for live music and the weekly open mics. I don’t drink so I have no need to sit at the bar. However, I will say that the server with the black hair is one of the most unpleasant individuals I’ve ever encountered. She’s always working on Thursdays (open mic nights). You would think that I rejected her back in high school or something. I try to get along with everyone but sometimes some people really just suck. Other than that, I love the place.“

Even if I don't call ahead of time the food is made quickly and tastes fine. $10 for a bacon cheeseburger with a decent amount of fries and a canned drink is honestly the best deal you'll get around here as a shipyard worker, at least in my opinion. They aren't rude, as some other reviews have said, they're just blunt. And I respect that. All in all 4/5 stars and I'll continue to eat here.“

“We had a great experience at YROC Coastal Grill. Elli was an amazing waitress—super attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without being overbearing.

I ordered the salmon, and it initially came out a little smaller than expected. Before I even had a chance to say anything (and after I’d already filled up on the pickle fries 😅), the kitchen proactively made an entirely new salmon for me. That level of customer service really stood out—they truly care about quality and guest satisfaction.
