The gentleman behind the counter handled the situation so well. He turned our day around and wouldn’t even take payment for our food. I go back now as much as I’m in the area, and it’s consistently wonderful. The food is delicious. Despite being attached to the busy mall, it’s always clean and accommodating. The staff is friendly and has a welcoming attitude that makes it feel like a standalone restaurant where you can sit and linger a bit. Thank you for your kindness. “I recently visited this restaurant and it was an amazing experience the manaesh was fresh flavorful and baked perfectly soft inside with a delicious crispy edge. The Mediterranean dishes were also excellent especially the hummus falafel and grilled meats Everything tasted homemade and authentic

“I came here today to try their new jerk chicken. The young man behind the counter was very nice and friendly.

I ordered the big platter with fries. Portions are very generous.

The jerk chicken is interesting. It’s sweet at first and then has a kick at the end. It’s good, the rice was delicious and so were the fries. Def worth it!

Also the guy at the counter was very nice and gave me 2 drinks on the house.“

I stopped by randomly after driving by and seeing bright lights in an empty parking lot at 8/9PM on a Wednesday night. Only thing I didn't like -- absolutely BLARING loud music (drake) that I could barely hear the guy taking the order and he could barely hear me either. It was obstructive. I would go back again the bowl was, like I said, absolutely delicious.“

“We had never tried Afghani food before, and I am so glad we did. The staff was so friendly and helpful with any questions we had. They recommended the Mini Taste of Arocostia for our first time. Everything was FANTASTIC!!! The food was cooked perfectly. The service was great! We never had to ask to have our beverages filled up, because they were already on top of it before we had to ask. They packed all our leftovers into boxes for us for our way home. We will definitely be going back!“

Their consistency is actually really impressive - I’ve never been disappointed by a single thing, and I’ve eaten A LOT of their food. But everything is so good, so I haven’t really made my way outside of the same few items from their menu. The difference is that the staff actually care about their customers, and take pride in their food. It’s not so common these days, and is a pleasant surprise. “My son and I stopped in while we were Christmas shopping and found the food EXCELLENT! My son ordered a combination of lamb and beef swcharma burrito, with Jalapeno hummus, onion, corn. lettuce, and mango salsa. The buritto was large enough for my son and I to share and the french fries were perfect.
The fries were hot with the perfect amount of salt and the Schwarma sauce was perfect for both the burrito and dipping the fries in. We will definately return if not to the Springfield Mall location (where we ate) we'll go to the location in Potomac Mills Mall. Again EXCELLANT and at a reasonble price.“

“These are my Afghans so I don’t wanna ruin their reputation. But just giving my personal review. I have been to this restaurant 3-4 times now. Previous visits was good so kept coming. But my most recent visit they got one of the orders wrong so they had to send it back. Took too long. We almost cancel that one because everyone else was almost finished with their food and the food didn’t come almost 30-40 minutes. Also, this time I found a little bit of hair and I just wanted to inform them about it and they didn’t seem to apologize or offer a new plate or anything. They just said all of our people wear head coverings when I brought up that I found hair. From then on out, I lost my appetite. I usually order the ice cream as well, but my appetite was ruined.“

I would go back. However, I would say The Halal Guys are comparable to the Little Ceasars or Domino's of their place in the industry. If you want to play it safe with a commercialized version of Halal food, then this is it. Please don't take that as a negative, Little Ceasars has its place in the market & it's time for when necessary, and so does The Halal Guys.“

“I came to Arlington for a business trip from Atlanta. I've been to the Ballston Food Court several times since I visit frequently. First time at Hal & Als and I ordered the brisket sandwich. the cashier who I assume is the owner was telling me about who he learned to make ribs from down in Atlanta. he was so hospitable too. he asked me to let him know what I thought. I completely forgot. everything was great. halal BBQ is a little different but it blew me away. I'll def revisit when I'm in Arlington again.“

Steven was friendly and welcoming, taking time to walk us through the menu and explain the specialties. The chicken sliders and the fries were delicious. Generous portions and great value.

We also loved the atmosphere especially the local murals featuring Leesburg Pike, which gave it a fun community vibe. Everything felt clean, lively, and well put together.
