“Going on a Friday night was a mistake. We joined the wait list via their website but were informed when we arrived that they don't use that system anymore. The wait was long and there's no waiting area so everyone was standing in the way of staff walking by and people trying to get through the door. The food is exactly the same as their former restaurant (which is to say good quality but not true Tex-Mex) and drinks incredibly overpriced.“
“Came during happy hour, and was pleasantly surprised at the prices and options they had. Loved the frozen lime margarita (a must), with the chicken quesadillas and the guacamole and salsa to share with the table. Loved the pupusas, and the best thing about this restaurant is that the food is always fresh and hot! We loved the tres leches and the churros and ice cream.“
“The people here are just plain awesome and only their food outshines their awesomeness! We have lunch here at least once a week and El Fresco has never failed to deliver. It is Tex-Mex food made with the absolute freshest of ingredients. We swear you can taste the sunshine in the tomatoes used for the many varieties of salsa. Salsa that comes free with a huge helping of the best chips anywhere. We can vouch for anything shrimp having had both the shrimp quesadillas and the handheld shrimp burritos. Both of these are stuffed with fantastic shrimp and the very best of ingredients. (The burrito the winner of any we have ever had and we have had dozens!) All the proteins are of exceptional quality; pork, chicken, steak, etc.The nachos are in a category by themselves -- A delicious monster size helping which we swore we could not finish but oh, look -- we did! There is a terrific lunch menu which runs until the unusual hour of 4:00 p.m. which accommodates us workaholics who will suddenly look at the clock and realize lunch time has passed! We have not had anything of less than stellar quality in the dozens of times we have eaten here. The restaurant is always found in pristine condition as the manager personally takes the time to clean up on a regular basis; you can tell he takes pride in both the facility and the food.NVCC students take note: El Fresco is directly across the street from campus and it offers a 15% discount for students. Such a deal; we wish we were still in school! Please give El Fresco a try as the food is the best Tex-Mex to be found anywhere in the area.“
“Salmon salad was very good and fresh~! The salmon was not fully cooked and asked to cook it again. The house gave me more salad with fully cooked salmon. And all waiters and waitresses were kind and professional. Will recommend to friends and family.“
“I will go back to Urbano. The food was good on my one visit, and the atmosphere was excellent with two sides of the restaurant open to the outdoors in good weather. The service was acceptable. The men's room is inadequate for the capacity of the restaurant though.“
“A small, happy, clean, quality business that is local and delicious. The food is authentic Bolivian (mostly). It's very good quality and they have have some very interesting twist on baked goods. Great service and positive atmosphere, if a bit small but the quality of food and service make up for any venue issues. Great place.“
“It's new, it's good, it's worth visiting. [fin] Ok, jk jk, I'll write more. Let's cover food, service, and ambiance in that order. Food: Solid to very good. Of the el arriero ny steak, lomo saltado, and molcajete ... the steak and molcajete win. Sadly the lomo saltado, while quite decent, doesn't hold a candle to Super Chicken in Tysons. Ok but here's the important bit: THE CHIPS. The chips are great. Not only are they thin and crispy, they're well salted AND served with both WARM and COLD salsas. I never thought anyone would do as well as Uncle Julios for chips, but ... well, Guapos does. Service: Ironically we've been twice and we had the same server both times. And she was excellent. Super friendly, quick with requests, and checked in frequently. Not only that, they clearly operate as a team and several folks came by during the meal to ensure drinks were filled, napkins were in order ... and shockingly, as we were wrapping up, someone wiped the crumbs off the table. I mean that's a white-tablecloth steakhouse thing... right? Apparently it's a Guapos thing too. Ambiance: Fun to hip. The first time we were there was opening week and the live band was both entertaining and, uh, loud. Look, we're fogies, we complain about this err ... stuff. The second time we went it was much quieter and we were able to enjoy our meals AND our conversation. The decor is pretty great, the table arrangement spacious, and the place was packed, nevertheless. I'll close out with parking. It's a big lot, and it gets crowded ... but we found spots nevertheless on a busy night. Looking for Mexican? Yeah, I'd go here again. No arm-twisting required.“
“El Tio is probably one of my favorite places in the area! Amazing food + the kindest staffMy partner and I go to El Tio at least once a week. I either get their bean and spinach enchiladas or their mushroom quesadillas, with the spicy guacamole. Never disappoints :)“
“We were pleasantly surprised with this place - good food, great drinks, wonderful service - what’s not to like! The food came out fast (in a very full restaurant on a Friday night, mind you!) and it was good. Unlike some other Mexican restaurants we’ve been to, the house margarita in this place is a very good one, not watered down and had a good bit of tequila in it - so if you want to relax with family or friends after work one night, this is the place to be, we certainly enjoyed it!“
“Listennnnn.... Ometeo, the parking sucks. HOWEVER, the service is A1. We had a great time with our server (I honestly don't remember her name because she left before we finished) but the best experience was with our backup server Phillipe. He took such great care of us, made us laugh, seriously took our first time from a 5 to a 10. Make sure you order the short rib tacos, the carnitas de pato and the hibiscus guava margarita. We also tried the spicy margarita, 10/10. We will definitely be back with a bigger group. Thanks Ometeo!!“
“In my humble opinion, Plaza Azteca is one of the best Mexican/TexMex restaurants in the greater DC area. From the people, service, delicious food options and cleanliness, we always leave happy. Recommend the enchiladas platter, tacos and salads. Hope you enjoy Plaza Azteca as much as we do!“
“I'm new to the Alexandria area and have been scoping out restaurants here and there in the area. No need to look any further, I've found my go to restaurant. Conveniently located by my local grocery store so I can shop then have a margarita and some taquitos. First time in this place I was greeted immediately and welcomed in with a friendly staff. The food and drinks here are right up my alley and Lilo took great care of me by keeping the drinks coming in a fast efficient manner at the bar. Officially a regular“
“This place is fantastic and has been for two decades. I moved away from NoVa years ago but recently returned for a visit and this restaurant hasn't missed a beat. I cannot figure out how other reviewers say everything is great and leave 4 stars. Cannot go wrong with the steak fajitas and house margaritas.“
“Food here is excellent! The street corn has so much flavor! Love the mango salsa!! I got a baja bowl with chicken and black beans; my boyfriend got a chicken burrito. Both were very good! We ordered via Door Dash, but will definitely give the restaurant a try next time for sure. Highly recommend. Get the street corn!!“
“I love Anita's for Taco Tuesday. The server was kind enough to help me with my Spanish and deserves a raise. I had to explain to our server in Spanish that my friend, Emma Hammersley, was going to have a birthday and they immediately brought out a small dessert. The Taco salad is nicer than Wendy's and tacos were better than Taco Bell and Taco Bamba.Vegetarian options: BeansKid-friendliness: Children's menu“
“At Anita's New Mexico Style Mexican Food, I savored the pork green chili burrito, a visual and flavorful delight. This mouthwatering creation featured a generous filling of succulent pork carnitas bathed in a tantalizing green chili sauce, crowned with an additional layer of the spicy green chili for an extra kick of flavor. The burrito's harmonious blend of tender meat and vibrant chili sauce left a lasting impression, thoroughly satisfying my taste buds. Accompanying this culinary masterpiece was a side of guacamole, boasting a chunky texture and made with the freshest ingredients. The guacamole's creamy richness complemented the bold flavors of the burrito, enhancing the overall dining experience. My visit to Anita's was a gastronomic journey filled with authentic New Mexico-style cuisine and impeccable flavors. I wholeheartedly enjoyed every bite and would eagerly recommend Anita's for a taste of...“
“Breakfast burritos (especially the Mr T & Chicharron) are excellent & I always love the BBQ Pork burrito platter. The salsa is one of my favourites anywhere, but it's better when dining in. The takeaway salsa is always more watery. Service is hit or miss, but I'm not really there for the service anyway.“
“This Pupusas Express is one of my go-to dine in spots in Herndon. The team here is always attentive at helping out. The wings are super crispy and well seasoned without additional sauce. The plantains are always served ripe with a side of beans and crema. The pupusas here are filled with your filling of choice and never greasy. Would recommend“
“Wow! My experience at Chuys was simply outstanding. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, setting the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The ambiance was inviting and cozy, perfect for a delightful meal. Now, let's talk about the food – it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was crafted with precision and care, bursting with flavors that left my taste buds dancing with joy. From the appetizers to the desserts, every bite was a culinary delight. But what truly set Chuys apart was the exceptional service. 1522 Rachel was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of perfection. She went above and beyond to accommodate any special requests and made me feel like a valued guest throughout the entire meal. She is a straight g.Overall, I cannot recommend Chuys highly enough. If you're looking for delicious food, impeccable service, and a memorable dining experience, look no further. I will definitely be returning soon for another culinary adventure.“
“Chuys is an excellent Tex-Mex restaurant with reasonable prices. Their servings are generous, often enough to be shared between two people unless one is particularly hungry. In addition to salsa, they offer complimentary dips for the chips listed on the menu. If you're interested, It's widely regarded as the top Tex-Mex spot in Washington D.C. and the surrounding area.“
“The food is fantastic! We got way too much, but now we have lunch for tomorrow. Service is good and the staff is very friendly. I like how they used Tajín/salt/lime on the margarita rims. The restaurant is just the right side and decorated nicely. Definitely coming back to try the ceviche!“
“Our grandson’s end of season basketball team party was held at this Chilis. It could have been crazy like herding cats, but it wasn’t. The manager was so well organized! He had a room just for the team with tables set ahead of when we arrived. Promptly took our orders and delivered them quickly and accurately. Servers were great! Manager was amazing. Great experience!!Kid-friendliness: Great with kids!“
“Great food music customer service this place is amazing I always use to go to DC to have fun before because it was nothing good close from home. But this place is good don't need to drive 50mn to DC no more they play all kind of music reggaeton hip hop and more.“
“Great hole in the wall spot on the second floor. Food is delicious - not too oily so tacos don't get soggy. Great range of menu options. The steak, beef, chicken are halal.Dietary restrictions: The meat (chicken, beef) is halalParking: Strip mall with lots of spots to park“
