“I visited Opus 9 with my cousins one of my cousins and I ordered the lamb chop which was nice and thick. I would give it a 10/10 with the thickness but a 5/10 due to the lack of seasoning. My other cousin ordered the porterhouse which was perfectly cooked but like the lamb chop it lacked seasoning. I had mashed potatoes which I found to be a little on the dry side. The service and ambiance was great.“

I arrived 15 min later and we were still waiting. 25 min after that, we still hadn't been called so I asked the hostess what was going on. She explained that some call-ahead parties had come in, and those take precedence over people physically present and waiting.

How does that work? Call-ahead isn't the same as having a reservation, is it?
